Plow Disc Chili Dogs, w/ Dr. Dor’s on the Southwest Disk

- Plow disk griddle, Cowboy wok, Discada, Disco, Disc grill, or whatever you want to call it, or however you want to spell it “disc” or “disk”, it is a very versatile and great way to cook food. They are made from an agricultural plow disc, the gentile concave shape allows them to be used as a wok, skillet or a griddle. You can; stir fry, deep fry, sear, stew, boil, braise, etc. The sheer size of the 22 inch (56cm) disk, which is made from ¼ inch (6.35mm) thick Carbon steel, allows a large quantity of food to be cooked on it. I purchased mine from Southwest Disk. I have no affiliation with this company, but after doing research I felt that Southwest Disk offers the best Plow Disk cookers at the best price. There are other brands too, or if you have welding skills you can make your own. I chose he The Trinity handles, they are wide so I can fit my big hands in them. I also chose a model with out a lip around the circumference. This traditional style allows food, water or grease easily be scraped off over the edge to serve or discard. Dr. Dor’s BBQ is great line of seasoning made by a Doctor in New Jersey. She also has a line of seasoning geared toward the home kitchen cook called Next Level. You got welding skills so you can do it. I don’t, so I bought mine. Southwest Disk makes these out of actual plow blades, he orders them brand new and un-drilled so there is no plugged hole in the center. They offer several handle choices, and as for my research offers the only ones pre-seasoned and ready to cook. They are also very reasonably priced. I have no affiliation with Southwest disk, I just think this veteran owned business is doing things right. That being said, if I could have made made my own, I would have made my own.
