In around 1995, Mathew Ellis had just won the ABA title and was training in Everton as a Pro. At that time, I was boxing as an amateur and asked Ellis for a spar. It didn’t end well for me.

People need to stop slagging Matthew Ellis.He's getting into the ring with men nearly twice his size and isn't afraid to take his punishment.He certainly does have heart.In all fairness though if he is to continue boxing he seriously needs to drop down to cruiser and fight lads his own size.All the best to Matt Ellis.
