This is the most helpful fat tire bike pressure video I've ever seen... I've been running 20 PSI on my 20x4 1200W E-Bike for the last 2 years and the center is bald now.... I have 2 new tires on order now that I had a flat today and I'm glad I had a spare tube and a Lezene pump but man, live and learn.... 10 PSI feels WAAAAY better...

I have 2 sets of 26" tires on 80mm wheels. 1) 4.8 Minions I use in winter that I put Grip Studs into.2) 4.0 Jumbo Jims that I use in summer. I'm 250 lbs on a Mr Big Stuff. I like higher pressures on both tires from 11-14 psi. I have found that a fast rolling tire like the Schwalbe JJ's gave me a few KOMs at my local trails when I got the pressures dialed in. As stated in the video, a good low pressure gauge is essential. On some varying terrain, just a pound of pressure makes a big difference. In winter I feel that studded tires allow much higher pressures.

200 lb on 26" x 2.5", i max it out at 60psi, 55 in the front, freaking love how tight it is, but i can ride to where it leaks out to 45 before i fix it up again

I just do t want to risk a bad crash by having it too high when riding on paved surfaces trying to get the effect at energy and speed out of it on the paved conditions because a blow out happens or flat whatever your toast at any sort of real speed. I guess I’ll just have to deal with the higher energy consumption rather than risk it for now at least.

My tires are 26X4 inches, I am about 140 lbs bike is 36 lbs, so in total around 176 lbs.
What psi would you recommend, on snow, track and Urban/asphalt?..
Have a good one and stay safe 😊👍.

I have the 27.5 x 4.0 45NRTH Vanhelgas. I ride on the hard desert rocks of Phoenix. Last weekend I experienced a gash in my rear tire going downhill where the diameter was larger than a plug. I'm 6'4" 215lbs. Is there a stronger tire for the hard rocks which is more puncture proof? I'm at 10psi.

Sorry to hear that, hope you made it back safe! The Vanhelgas are great tires, and we don't know anything that would necessarily be more durable. Hope you have better luck next ride!

hi. What is the normal width of the 26x4.8 fat tires. My own bike has 26x4.0 tires, I wonder if there will be any friction if I buy 4.8

I have no rear shocks, both my 20'/4" yammee tires say 20psi, the most basic question which I haven't heard you address, is how low can you go on inflation with out ruining tires?(or having high risk of blowout).. in cars they say always be careful not to over or under inflate(when tires get hot they usually go up 10-12+% in psi), but after accounting for that, how much can Ppl over or under inflate these things without ruining them &/or being dangerous?☹️..

Your best bet would be to reach out to the manufacturer for questions about specific tires. Thanks for watching!
