Literally a year ago I fell prey to Suicide Squad because a buddy was so stoked for it. I paid full price for it on PS5, played 4 hours, uninstalled, and never played it again. I want my money back. Now they're coughing it up for free. Such a scam!

I would agree since from an outside perspective both Playstation and Xbox are scamming their consumers because they still charge for online play, and its not getting any better neither since I don't see Xbox keeping their 60 a year for a whole lot longer even though they got the lawsuit with them raising the price of gamepass when they said after the activision acquisition in the terms of the deal with them that they wouldn't raise their prices and in fact would keep them the same forever
Disappointed with how Sony has been handling everything. They’ve abandoned VR, PS Plus has gone downhill, their incredible legacy library is just collecting dust, and the PS5 Pro feels underwhelming. Running PlayStation should be a no-brainer, but poor leadership has clearly taken its toll. There's no vision or innovation anymore. My PS Plus subscription is up for renewal in March, and I can’t wait to cancel it. I’ve pretty much become a PC gamer only.
no because essential is different product than gamepass. xbox does not even offer a comparable service. They did at one time called games of gold but they got rid of it because they don't want you to own games incase they decide to ditch the hardware market. gamepass is comparable to the extra and premium tiers and while you could say gamepass has more day one I would argue that playstation has a better catalog depending on what your wanting to play.

Ps+ expansion to completely non-ps5 required cloud streaming on the portal might indicate where their head is currently at in terms of what they see it being.
i stopped paying for ps plus awile back after hearing about console hacking i could return either way i buy games i dont worry about free digital games from ps plus ( just commenting ) .. trophies huh? i get some i guess i have some as an ok player i dont worry about trophies which is good as i cant deal with platinum requirements... huh.... i always have wifi for the pc that gives me wifi for ps4 or ps6 when i get one it may be best to not get games that require online support in case they stop paying there servers otherwise i guess id have internet available for games when i get ps plus
For clarification suicide squad is not shutting down the servers . there just won’t be anymore content and there is a patch that makes everything available offline so it’s actually good imo. Need for speed and Stanley are actually decent for the low tier of plus the real thing is gonna be with the extra games imo
The service doesn't suck. If you pay $80 for a year and you get 3 games every month or 36 games for the year, how can you complain. Games are $70, and sure, you don't get this game when they come out, but in the end, the math is absolutely positive for consumers. If you don't like what you get, cancel. That's the only way companies understand what you think.
I waited for a deal a few weeks ago when my subscription ended and then decided I’m happy with Essential only now as any games that come out I buy so for me I’m happy to just have the online mode for Helldivers 2 as that’s I need it for now.

It's been a long time since I had Playstation Plus. Back in the day I had it and would get 3 games on PS3, 3 games for PS4 and games for either the Vita or PSP.
I just cancelled mine on dec 30th with that PS+ crap games. Another crap issue is that gamestores charge $79.99 CAD for a physical copy of the game where they pay employees and pay overhead. Why do we pay the exact same price on digital purchases that can be taken away, have no employees or overhead it makes no sense
More people are going to shift to xbox because of day one titles and Gears of war E day and Fable are not going to be on playstation it adds up buying every game 70$-100 on top of that you have to pay for ps plus if you want to play online but gamepass continues to get stacked with new and better content where playstation doesn't have the resources to adopt that kind of a business model

Correct, there used to be some excitement about PS Plus....years ago. When Sony changed what they were providing with PS Plus, it started going down hill. The removal of PS3 games, the reduction of games given to now the quality of games released. One of the other issues that Sony still has not addressed is games you claim on PS Plus, you can't purchase. I have not see this corrected yet. The other is, games you claim on PS Plus, like Fallout 4 as an example, you can't get the free PS5 update. Even if you own the disc version, it won't work. There is some kind of licensing issue and Sony is shooting themself in the foot.
PlayStation Plus is definitely getting worse especially since they increased the price point recently but don't sleep on Stanley Parable. It's honestly a game of the year worthy game. All in all not a bad month but we will have to see the monthly games on the second and third tiers
Idk. I've been subscribed to Ps plus for about 5 years now and I never remembered plus games being bangers every month. I have a huge catalogue and I didn't touch alot of them. I didn't subscribe to plus because of the free games so this is a non issue. What I do have an issue with is the damn price. I barely had plus this year because they jumped the price by like $30 here in Canada. $100 just to play online for a year is absurd. And guess what! I couldn't even touch my plus catalogue. Only finally that black Friday had a deal so I resubscribed. I don't like where Sony is heading in general. Crappy free games is the least of my worries.

I stopped PS+ a long time ago. I think it sucks to pay in order to be able to play online games. You buy a modern video game console, you should just be allowed to play online video games without paying anything more than your internet costs.

Back when basic ps plus was $35/year on sale it was fine, now for $80 you are getting nothing. They need to take the first tier where you have access to the full library of plus games and make that $80.
I've already canceled my ps plus and plan on sticking to single-player games for the ps5. All the online games I play are available on pc. There's no point paying extra money for online service for the ps5 if im already paying for home internet.
I don't have a PS five but when I saw a PlayStation plus I said man maybe I better go get one but then as I watch the games getting dropped on it I decided it wasn't worth it. I wanted a ton of PS1 and PS2 games and there was only a couple to choose.
I don't think this month's games are that bad. Maybe Need for Speed could be the headliner. Stanley is interesting... The real issue with PS Plus is Extra removing big first party games and us not knowing if any are safe to stay.
Its gotten to the point where i dont even check what games are coming out. I dont think ive checked in the last 3-4 months and i wouldnt have known this month if it wasnt for this video. Ive pretty much purchased every game i have the slightest interest in playing. Its more of a problem finding time to play all the games i have. I don't think I'm renewing premium though I did like Worms Pinball a lot. But I just will go with essentials b/c I hadn't even played much of those monthly games at all so I don't really need access to newer games on the higher tiers until I don't have any more games to play. I believe you can actually buy some of the retro games too, such I did with Jeanne D'arc (a psp game on the classics collection of premium).
Stopped paying for this bs a long time ago. Recently saw they won't allow you to carry over your cloud saves. Greedy bastards! I refuse to pay for this. And if we all had balls they would instantly lower the price to normal price again. But most gamers have no balls.

Everyone is whining about Suicide Squad and ignoring the fact the other 2 games are really good. I like this months offerings. I want to play the single player of suicide squad but not really buy it. Ps plus essential is the price of one full price game a year. You get more than your moneys worth. A few “bad” months are acceptable to me.
Sony almost never seen to offer their own first party titles anymore, and I take issue with this. Why couldn't we have gotten Demon Souls or Gran Turismo VII instead of Suicide Squad KTJL, of all things, one of last year's infamous dumpster fires.
honestly I thought the same thing but looking at the comment section of channels that post the games and even some that explain the trophies and game length there is a decent % of people who wanted to try ssktjl but didn't want to buy. Me i'm not one of them but need for speed is a decent game and the 3rd game never heard of but people had good things to say about it.
I had Playstation Plus when PS5 first came out for about a year. Playstation Plus is just not worth it to me for the price and what games Sony is giving each month.
I guess the money from suicide squad on ps+ helps the studio that made the batman arkham games, and maybe we get a good game next time in idk, 6 years.
PS+ became trash the moment the PS4 was released, because they knew people would pay for the service regardless in order to play online. Sold my PS4 not much later because you could see the direction Sony was going again.

70$ games are overall just horrible. Even when they go on sale they're still too expensive. 60$ really is a sweet spot

I waited for a deal a few weeks ago when my subscription ended and then decided I’m happy with Essential only now as any games that come out I buy so for me I’m happy to just have the online mode for Helldivers 2 as that’s I need it for now.
for the first time in my life i dont have a playstation console anymore... i sold my ps5 last month, because i have a gaming pc now. for me personally its not irrelevant anymore to have a playstation console

It's been a long time since I had Playstation Plus. Back in the day I had it and would get 3 games on PS3, 3 games for PS4 and games for either the Vita or PSP.

I just cancelled mine on dec 30th with that PS+ crap games. Another crap issue is that gamestores charge $79.99 CAD for a physical copy of the game where they pay employees and pay overhead. Why do we pay the exact same price on digital purchases that can be taken away, have no employees or overhead it makes no sense

More people are going to shift to xbox because of day one titles and Gears of war E day and Fable are not going to be on playstation it adds up buying every game 70$-100 on top of that you have to pay for ps plus if you want to play online but gamepass continues to get stacked with new and better content where playstation doesn't have the resources to adopt that kind of a business model

Correct, there used to be some excitement about PS Plus....years ago. When Sony changed what they were providing with PS Plus, it started going down hill. The removal of PS3 games, the reduction of games given to now the quality of games released. One of the other issues that Sony still has not addressed is games you claim on PS Plus, you can't purchase. I have not see this corrected yet. The other is, games you claim on PS Plus, like Fallout 4 as an example, you can't get the free PS5 update. Even if you own the disc version, it won't work. There is some kind of licensing issue and Sony is shooting themself in the foot.
PlayStation Plus is definitely getting worse especially since they increased the price point recently but don't sleep on Stanley Parable. It's honestly a game of the year worthy game.
All in all not a bad month but we will have to see the monthly games on the second and third tiers
Idk. I've been subscribed to Ps plus for about 5 years now and I never remembered plus games being bangers every month. I have a huge catalogue and I didn't touch alot of them. I didn't subscribe to plus because of the free games so this is a non issue.
What I do have an issue with is the damn price. I barely had plus this year because they jumped the price by like $30 here in Canada. $100 just to play online for a year is absurd. And guess what! I couldn't even touch my plus catalogue. Only finally that black Friday had a deal so I resubscribed. I don't like where Sony is heading in general. Crappy free games is the least of my worries.

I had premium all last year, I renewed to just basic Ps+ $80 a year compared to $160 year it’s no brainer. No need pay for anything above basic tier.

This is why I'm building a pc as PlayStation is putting games on pc very fast and I am sick of paying to play online games, a pc can pay for itself in a few years.
Start redeeming the free games on epic games store, and amazon prime if u have it.
If I have to choose 1, I'd stick to PC. This month's PS+ is awful. I do not want to play Suicide Squad at all. I have the other 2 on PC already!

I stopped PS+ a long time ago. I think it sucks to pay in order to be able to play online games. You buy a modern video game console, you should just be allowed to play online video games without paying anything more than your internet costs.

Back when basic ps plus was $35/year on sale it was fine, now for $80 you are getting nothing. They need to take the first tier where you have access to the full library of plus games and make that $80.
I've already canceled my ps plus and plan on sticking to single-player games for the ps5. All the online games I play are available on pc. There's no point paying extra money for online service for the ps5 if im already paying for home internet.

I don't have a PS five but when I saw a PlayStation plus I said man maybe I better go get one but then as I watch the games getting dropped on it I decided it wasn't worth it. I wanted a ton of PS1 and PS2 games and there was only a couple to choose.

I don't think this month's games are that bad. Maybe Need for Speed could be the headliner. Stanley is interesting... The real issue with PS Plus is Extra removing big first party games and us not knowing if any are safe to stay.

Its gotten to the point where i dont even check what games are coming out. I dont think ive checked in the last 3-4 months and i wouldnt have known this month if it wasnt for this video.
Ive pretty much purchased every game i have the slightest interest in playing. Its more of a problem finding time to play all the games i have. I have the Premium PS+ service as well, been playing Dino Crisis on my Playstation Portal

I don't think I'm renewing premium though I did like Worms Pinball a lot. But I just will go with essentials b/c I hadn't even played much of those monthly games at all so I don't really need access to newer games on the higher tiers until I don't have any more games to play.
I believe you can actually buy some of the retro games too, such I did with Jeanne D'arc (a psp game on the classics collection of premium).
I'm subscribed to PS+ for the multiplayer; the games are just extra for me, and, in all honesty, I haven't played any of those games in 2024.
Stopped paying for this bs a long time ago. Recently saw they won't allow you to carry over your cloud saves. Greedy bastards! I refuse to pay for this. And if we all had balls they would instantly lower the price to normal price again. But most gamers have no balls.

Everyone is whining about Suicide Squad and ignoring the fact the other 2 games are really good. I like this months offerings. I want to play the single player of suicide squad but not really buy it. Ps plus essential is the price of one full price game a year. You get more than your moneys worth. A few “bad” months are acceptable to me.
Sony almost never seen to offer their own first party titles anymore, and I take issue with this. Why couldn't we have gotten Demon Souls or Gran Turismo VII instead of Suicide Squad KTJL, of all things, one of last year's infamous dumpster fires.

honestly I thought the same thing but looking at the comment section of channels that post the games and even some that explain the trophies and game length there is a decent % of people who wanted to try ssktjl but didn't want to buy. Me i'm not one of them but need for speed is a decent game and the 3rd game never heard of but people had good things to say about it.

I had Playstation Plus when PS5 first came out for about a year. Playstation Plus is just not worth it to me for the price and what games Sony is giving each month.

PS+ became trash the moment the PS4 was released, because they knew people would pay for the service regardless in order to play online. Sold my PS4 not much later because you could see the direction Sony was going again.
NEVER Sell a console once I buy it and Still own all my original games, Still got my PS2 and my PS3 Sitting right next to my PS5 so Sony can take their Pay Monthly Subscription Retro Gaming Bullshit and Shove it where the Sun Don't Shine.
