  • This week we visit the secret military installation that is Browning's factory in Belgium where, alongside the automatic rifles, the craftsmen of the Browning Custom Shop make some of the most sought-after shotguns in the world. We go stalking roebuck and foxshooting with Browning in Belgium, using the latest X-Bolt rifles, and we take the B25, the B525 and the Maxus to a pretty Belgian chateau with a clay ground. And were we allowed to see what Browning is planning to bring out next year. Sorry sir - access restricted!

Lovely video, I own a proper Belgian Browning and live 15 minutes away from the factory. Our club house is that chateau in Andenne, nice to see it all back here.

I have Browning A5 Semi in Jodhpur Rajasthan India. My father brought it from Egypt when he went their in 1942 as part of British forces in middle East. India was ruled by Britishers at that time. My gun 12 bore is in excellent condition, shoots wel but sometimes I face jamming problem. If any FN company member want to see it, gun is available in Jodhpur Rajasthan India. It's a great piece of work. Pin point shooting is possible with this gun.
    Thank you FN.

I own a Browning Superposed ST-100 that was manufactured in the Browning Custom Shop in 1979. It has been superb. I have put north of 30K rounds of ammunition through it in trap doubles competition. The gun is beautifully built and is the finest O/U shotgun in the world. JMHO.

I had a ST-100 as well. They were standard production B25 guns (albeit not a hugely popular model). I also had the nicer ST-80

I shot everything out of the sky with a B2G - I am convinced that these are the BEST shotguns in the world, bar none. Not going back to beretta. The actions on the brownings are like silk and so strong too, with a degree of pointability i have never experienced in any other gun before. Selling up my (current) Winchester soon I hope!

My early vintage Browning Auto 5s, proudly occupy real estate in my stable, beside several of London's pre-war finest. While the wood is utilitarian, the actions and barrels are manufactured with the best steels, to very high standards. They point well, and if the actions are kept clean, the complains are far fewer than coming from the high maintenance British girls.

Uh, John Browning also invented entire categories of guns and 4 of the most important and most used MILITARY guns of the 20th century. From the first "compact" semi-auto pocket pistols to the first semi-auto sporting rifle and semi-auto shotgun to SEVERAL legendary Winchester lever-action centerfire rifles and rimfire rifles to the might M2 Heavy Machine Gun and the finest combat pistol ever designed in the 1911. Finest EVER? Absolutely. Why? Because it is STILL the ONLY pistol ever designed specifically FOR COMBAT with major changes made by military officers during the selection process, which took several years and during which John Browning submitted SEVERAL pistols and made modifications continually until the U.S. Army had EXACTLY what it wanted.
There literally is not only no other SINGLE gunmaker in history that can't legitimately compared to Browning, the fact that he invented so many guns and so many operating principles and design elements and gun systems pretty much means that you can take all of the there gun makers COMBINED and their COLLECTIVE contributions don't equal what he did ALONE and by HAND and by BUILDING THE GUN IN WOOD AND STEEL instead of just ON PAPER. John Browning did not deliver "prototypes" or plans or blueprints or sketches. He delivered GUNS.

DEEREMEYER1 Agreed, a historic and living achievement in 20th century gun development and production; which appears hard to accept by a few Brits here. Even surpassing Fred Beesley, the 'principal inventor of the London gun trade'.

The guy stressed that they are hand built guns. Not really hand built when you are using some kind of milling machine or any machinery to rough out stocks and forearms. Certainly tons and tons of hand work, but its a marketing line of BS to say its handbuilt. John Browning made true hand-built guns at least until he got them made in Belgium.
