Brushes! I love brushes and you can never have too many IMO. If you have a lot of brushes you don't have to wash them as often LOL One of my favorite synthetic brush brands is Real Techniques especially the duo fiber type. With natural hair brushes, I prefer undyed goat hair over dyed. I particularly like Wayne Goss brushes and Refr brushes. I've also been liking some of Sonia G's combo brushes (dyed and undyed). Great video.
Yes! I have many many Real Techniques brushes in my kit. They never disappoint.

@@MandyDavisMUA I tried it on a whim without anyone recommending it and I can’t believe how much more I live it vs pencil brush. May I suggest a video with an older woman who has a lot of space between the crease and her brow? I’ll be 63 soon and it’s a challenge not to look overly made-up, getting the color in the right space as the skin moves, and dealing with more droopiness. I have few wrinkles, which is nice. But when I try to emulate you (who is much, much prettier with nice large eyes) - by modifying based on experience - I think I could do better. This old dog, who has been wearing makeup since I was 15, loves learning new tricks! Thank you!!

Yes! I should have mentioned that in the video. I use Dr. Bronners (or the generic equivalent sometimes) castille soap. I find both the liquid and the bar soap work great!

Thanks Elise! I can't believe I forgot to mention my favorite cream bronzer brush. My personal faves is the Hourglass vanish foundation brush. But between the two you mentioned, I would go with the BK107 for creams. I prefer synthetic bristles to natural hair the majority of time when working with cream products.

If you have more of a serum foundation the it cosmetic serum foundation brush is amazing for my under eyes i use almost an eyeliner brush(i have red lines under my eyes then i buff it out)

Mandy, what do you think is more efficient for everyday makeup: having the perfect brush for every category of product and application type or having a few easy to reach multitasking brushes? (By efficient I mean results achieved vs time dedicated). Love the detailed information on the video, btw!
I personally like to have specific brushes if your budget allows. However, there are a few wonderful multitasking brushes that will give amazing results every time. One of my faves that I have multiple of in my kit is the Real Techniques Setting Brush.
@@MandyDavisMUA I have that brush! Although I only use it for blush and highlighter. I've seen you in some videos using it for under eye concealer but I find it too big for that, I end up having concealer everywhere except where I need it 😅

Have you looked into the Ilios tabletop light? I have a video on it. It has an amazing cool setting. It's what I film all my IG videos on and I have all my room lights off when I do so.

I, too have many brushes. I go through them a couple of times a year to weed out similar brushes, ones that have frayed or aren’t as soft as others. But I’m all reality, I use about 5-10 brushes ~90% of the time. 😂

Kind of off topic, I have been wanting to see which makeup mirror is your favorite. I would like to invest in one but I am torn between the Rikki and the other one you recently mentioned but I cannot remember the name.
Illios. That’s the other one 🤦🏻♀️
I think it depends on the space you have allowed for the mirror. If you have a larger space where you can leave a large mirror and not have to move it around, I would look into the riki loves riki tall mirror. If you have a smaller space, I 100% recommend Ilios. I use that now for all of my IG Filming. The light can't be beat and I love the different magnifications. That is another thing the riki doesn't have. If you are talking about the smaller Riki mirror, then I would, again, go with the Ilios. It's hard to beat!

Hi there..it's a mixture of colourpop singles and Fit Glow Beauty "Golden Hour".
The Sephora 18 now looks nothing like the old 18. The new is rounded while the old was pinched flat. Shouldn't even share the same number. Yes they both can do the same thing but if when they redid the brushes they didn't keep the same style seems strange to me to use the same number.
Aww, that's a bummer. I have heard they completely redid the brushes for the worse.
Do you use different brushes on clients? I noticed you use a lot of real techniques.
