I really enjoy the mockup stage! I can often tell what's wrong with the fit of my patterns, but rarely know how to deal with the fit problems. This is very educational!
I can’t tell you how many times I have searched RUclips for a video of someone recreating this dress! There are a few others but they weren’t quite right and I couldn’t put my finger on it, but you have nailed it! I’m actually renting the real thing soon (can’t promise I won’t trace the pattern 😂) but will come back to this and make my own one day! If anyone finds a fabric similar to the metallic crinkled fabric they use please post a link here. Thank you for the videos, fab job!!
Eeeeek, this is going to be so killer 😍🧛♀️ Such a gorgeous silhouette and in THAT needle cord. Can't wait to see next week's video and the reveal, but really loved today's style of video so much! So interesting, as always, to see so much detail of your creative process 🙌💜
Thank you so much 🥰🥰🥰 and love the pun 🤣 I can’t wait to show you the result!!! ✨ took the final reveal shots in a hotel I stayed in over the weekend and let’s say they turned out a bit different than usual 😱
@@ThrillsandStitches ooooh the intrigue!!! 😍 Can't wait to see how your vampire weekend panned out!! (A more niche pun for millennials like me who grew up listening to ~alternative~ music and thinking we were the coolest 😂😂)
@@ThrillsandStitches oh actually i'm going to try it with 'the light sleeper' (it's the one the princess of wales wore in belize last year or the year before?), but it has the same weirdo-darts and i was looking specifically for someone who could give me an idea how to achieve the dart because ?!? - here i am, bingewatching all your videos now LOL
Elisa ☺️ That was so beautiful to watch … the process is so intricate👌🏾 You always make things look super easy - but your mind 💬 amazing 💫 looking forward to the sewing and reveal 💞😘
Thank you so much Liza, I appreciate it 🥰 there will be more content like this next year! I enjoy shedding more light on the process of each piece, so can’t wait to do more of this soon 🤞
YES YES YES!! I have wanted to recreate/make a dress inspired by the Vampire's Wife for years now, never got the courage, so taking this as a sign! Can't wait to see next week's video and how it looks in that gorgeous pin cord! PS: How is the arm mobility like in that sleeve? I was drafting a similar one, with a higher cap and volume in the head, but tighter around the arm - and after 2 mockups I still cannot move my arms!
Yeeeesss hope this pattern draft helps you in your endeavour! Actually the arm mobility is solid - it’s something I was worried about too when I made the pattern. I think from the looks of the original sleeves one is tempted to make them quite tight, but that’s not necessary - the lifted shoulder gives the fitted effect you are looking for if that’s makes sense. Let’s judge after next weeks reveal 🤭
Hi, I’m from London, could you please share the shop you got this fabric from? I loved the video! Am also planning on making one in time from Christmas and am very excited! P.S I completely agree with lining dresses!
Hi! The shop is on Goldhawk Road in Hammersmith/SheBu. I forgot the name rn but the exterior is purple I remember! I will let you know if/once I recollect the name 😅
@@ThrillsandStitches I was also going to ask this. It would be great if you include this info in your videos going forward, so we can share in the fabric shop love.
I made a Vampire's Wife-inspired dress too, but I cheated and used stretch velvet to get that super fitted bodice (also so I could avoid doing a zip)😁. I can't wait to see how yours turns out; that colour is so gorgeous!
Loved watching this video! Btw Elisa I was asking myself if you're Italian or have any Italian genes, cause Elisa is a very Italian name, also the way you say it lol
@@ThrillsandStitches ahh I see, well if you ever go back to Italy we have plenty of Elisa hahahaha. But I do feel you, my name is very uncommon in Italy, more in Switzerland and recently I discovered that it's also really common in Saudi Arabia (random I know lol) 😂
Now I realised what you look like. You look like Dakota Johnson when it comes to your general appearance but when I look at your actual face you look like Kate winslet and how you speak really shows the similarities.

@@ThrillsandStitches Hi was it by any chance Fabric world? It has a white banner and pink shop front?
Hi all! The fabric shop is called Universal Textiles on Goldhawk Road in Shepherds Bush 👌 @claudipereira6729 @chlomo2618 @teatimesocial7983
I just thrifted a black needle cord that I was going to make pants with but now I think I need a version of the vampires wife dress instead.

What App are you using for sketching?
I‘m using Procreate, it’s really useful for sketching
Loved watching this video! Btw Elisa I was asking myself if you're Italian or have any Italian genes, cause Elisa is a very Italian name, also the way you say it lol
Haha I wish! I‘m Austrian - It’s a semi-popular name there (tbh I only know one other Elisa personally).

I'm in my 50s we were wearing dresses like this in the late 70s
Love that! The silhouette is so flattering :)
Hi, would you know the fabric composition by any chance? Many thanks!
The fabric I used was a pure cotton needlecord, non-elastic!
Now I realised what you look like. You look like Dakota Johnson when it comes to your general appearance but when I look at your actual face you look like Kate winslet and how you speak really shows the similarities.
Again, thank you! I actually heard both before, so I guess there must be something to it!
