You certainly do beautiful work. That knife looked amazing when it was finished. You’re a very talented lady.
@@shedmanx3640 thank you 😊
Great job!
For a first knife you employed a bunch of great techniques and executed them all well, I’m impressed. I hope the handle work goes smoothly.
With how this one is looking, who knows how great your 10th or even 100th knife will be👍
@jhublades thank you so much!!! The handle should be done this week. Unfortunately I messed it up and had to start that part over. But it'll be part of part 2... 😊🙏
Looks a heck of a lot better than my first attempt at making a large knife. Great job!
Well it's not 100% finished. Still lots of chances to mess it up 😅. But I'm shaping the handle today, finally. We'll see how that goes. Thanks!
I love your design.
I’m a sucker for recurves and high saber grinds. You nailed both.
Thank you!! It was almost done and then I wrecked then handle 😂 so I'm redoing that now
This is fantastic...from maker to maker. Keep up the good work. A high 5 coming from the USA.
@jeffreymiller9706 thank you so much!!
Looks great! Fatntastic work. I am looking forward to part 2.
Thank you so much!! It's coming up soon. Just about finished with the handle 😊!
Happiness appears on your face after your success in making a beautiful and strong knife. Well done woman
☺️☺️🙏🙏
Good job
Can't wait to see what next
@@AhmadoSilman thank you!
Awesome job I still gotta watch part 2 but looks really good. Love that belt grinder to.
@@Shawnbbeckner thanks 😁
Looks great. I liked that you were brave enough to do the quick water quench before the oil. When hand sanding tryout using something flat to wrap the sandpaper around. Like a piece of wood, or brass, or fully annealed steel. as long as it is softer than the parent material. Also. on your pipe/blade vice. if you weld a square bar to the outer tube, it will be more secure in the vice, and you can point it in different directions. also make the bar you weld to it, the same size as your Hardie hole. so, you can use it at the anvil also. Great video. Hope you make more.
Thank you for all the great advice again !
great design keep up the good work!
Thank you!
That blade looks wicked!! Well done! Subbed!
@@MrZPal2099 thank you 😊!
Me gusta la forma que esta teniendo el cuchillo. Tienes manos de mujer muy trabajadora. Suscrito al canal. Un saludo desde Andalucia (España)
Thank you so much!!
Beautiful blade ❤
Thanks!!
Great video, really nice looking knife.
@@danecamp thank you!
Sweet!
Thanks!
I like it! I’ve been wanting to do a rasp knife for a while now.
Thanks! I'm just about finished now. You should give it a try ☺️
@@cawojoannetteWe’ve got a few in my shop. I’ll grab one and as soon as we finish moving I’ll give it a try!
So far so good!
🙏
Excellent knife work, I'm Jorge from Argentina. The double tempering in water and oil caught my attention. Congratulations, I moved on.
dang that looks AMAZING !! just like you ;)
@jlforgenfab5746 thank you 😊 🙏
Really nice blade shape.
Thanks!
Very nice.
Thank you!
Beautiful design well done 👏🏻
😊🙏 thanks
Nice work , i also like using old farriers rasps for knives , but you have to soften them properly first or you just wear out belts unnecessarily. Greetings from South Africa 🇿🇦.
Thanks! Yes that's why I put it inbthe forge before cutting the shape out 😊. Have a great day!
beau travail!!!
Merci!
браво. героическая женщина.но я все же непроходил бы наждачкой по лезвию.на брусок клеют наждачку,и рука защищена от пореза.😀
For a first attempt you sure seem to have a hefty collection of well worn, knife specific tools... (And sorry that comes off sounding questioning.)
You did hit most of the important stuff, such as annealing the rasp first. Is that belt sander variable speed? If so turn that puppy up, scarier sure, but metal grinds, drills and cuts at high speeds. And it just scares us when someone uses gloves like that on a grinder.
But it was certainly a good watch.
@apocalypseforge2666 Yes, I do have a lot of the tools already. I mentioned it in a previous comment. My man used to make knives a few years ago, so I learned from him. I'm also a maker, so we have a lot of tools. I just never tried knife making before, but I had some knowledge ☺️. Ad for the variable speed, unfortunately I don't. Hopefully in the future! It would be so handy to have 😅.
Part 2 is coming eventually. I was just about finished but I messed up the handle... So now I have to start that over. It's a project I'm doing for fun so it's slow and steady 😅. But hopefully it'll all be done within the next week or two.
Do you remember where you got the rasp? Or how much it was? That was some pretty nice and WIDE stock to start with.
Hi! Yeah, a friend of mine gave it to me.
Good start! Hang in there....
Thanks! Handle is almost finished.
Nice work my northern friend! 👌
Thank you 😊
Looking good.
Thanks!! Can't wait to have it finished 😅. It's almost there.
Awesome!
Thanks!
Like the shape.
🙏
Beautiful knife perfect 👍👍 ❤🇧🇷
@@pedrogomesmaia2421 thanks 😊 🙏
Turned out pretty good 👍...
Thanks! It's coming along
@cawojoannette ...your welcome...and that's a pretty good setup you have, your shop 👌...
I can't complain, that's for sure!
damn algorithm,,, really entertaining!
🙏
Хорошая работа !!! Лайк и подписка и насморк лечи )))!!!
bravo très bon travail je vous souhaite une excellente journée
Merci beaucoup! Une belle journee a vous aussi!
Nice job.
Thanks!
First knife? What did you make before this swords? Looks really cool!
Ahah wooden spoons... I usually carve wooden spoons for a living with a bit of Blacksmithing in between. But thanks 😊
Very nice job..make me one.!!
@@JesusLopez-fc7bd thanks!!
Looks awesome, but you should handsand the other way! you should be sanding from the point of the blade toward the recasso
Ok thanks for the tip!!
I just wish that rasps had the same pattern on each side. You need to make friends with a ferrier. Preferably a ferrier without a blade smith friend already. lol
@westholdforge539 ahah yea! This is actually from a friend's of a friend who's a ferrier. So that's pretty close right? Right 😅
A very good work, but i like to see it, when it is ready! With handle… greatings….
@RalfRickenberg thanks! Yes part 2 is coming soon. Sorry for the delay! I messed up the handle and had to start over. But I'll show it soon ☺️
@@cawojoannette 😊 👋
Silly question, but did you BUY all your tools and equipment or get it from family etc?
Not silly! I did not. Some were bought, and some were hand built by my partner.
Awesomw
Thank you!!!
How's the ladle? Got her done lol?
@@cawojoannette it’s 99% done
Arrunio una lima nueva, para hacer esa basura?
Bom trabalho, mas acho que antes você deveria ter feito o recozimento, antes de fazer a usinagem.
kd o cabo
Not sure I believe you why would you have all the tools and a lot of knife making skills and knowledge for this to be your first time?
Because my partner was making knives a few years ago. I've learned from watching him and from watching other RUclipsrs as well as from all the makers I've met on Instagram. Hope that clears things up 😊.
This is also why we have all the tools. Obviously. 🙏
Good job. Just keep it up and push yourself a little more exh build and you'll learn something from each knife you make.
Thanks!! Not sure I'll be making many more knives. This is mostly for fun. I usually carve spoons for a living with some blacksmithing in the mix
