It had nothing to do with Charlie - he was a criminal - but not a hippie cult leader . It’s been verified by polanskis producer gene Gutowski and many more that Jay and voytek were dealing drugs from the house - Tex being a scumbag who regularly ripped dealers off as well as Linda Kasabian masterminded the whole thing - look at the crimes they committed prior to meeting Manson . Anyway Tex went to rob jay and voytek of drugs and the whole thing turned into a terrible bloodbath . The motive that Manson though Terry Melcher was living their isn’t accurate either as Melcher admitted Manson knew he’d moved and been to the new residence .
Terry Melcher !! Doris Day almost lost her son. Manson also had a hit list of movie stars, number one on the list was Frank Sinatra, number two was Steve McQueen....
I grew up in the 70’s in Canoga Park, right next to Chatsworth and the Spahn Ranch, so many of my neighbors had been there renting horses and riding. They had all met the family members so they all had stories. My husband’s parents were newlyweds in 1969 and they lived in Benedict Canyon on Yoakum Drive at the time of the murders. His mom told me how terrifying it was when they happened because until then, it was a very safe community and there was no crime up there.
Of course he did, she was the victim who was closest to the guest house. There's no way Garrettson was either sleeping or listening to music, Steven Parent had JUST left after visiting him. Years later he admitted to hearing "popping" sounds" which of course was Parent being shot. I can't blame Garrettson for being reluctant to talk for all those years, there's nothing he could have done at the time except getting himself killed by trying to intervene. They got all the convictions and that's what really mattered.
Imagine that talking at the news stand with someone about the Tate murders and ofcourse not realizing in a few hours your next to be murdered by the same people ,thats crazy to think about

you know its said that there are several people who could have potentially been at Cielo Drive that night who could have been victims to had they been there. But actually, the more people who would have been there that night, the harder it would have been for the killers to subdue all the victims. At the time, the police didn't know how many killers were or what their capabilities were. Of course now we know it was Tex Watson, Susan Atkins, and Patricia Krenwinkel. Yes Linda Kasabian came with them but by all accounts she wasn't a killer and likely would not have done anything. I just wonder if those three were so far gone they would have attacked the house no matter how many people were there. And if so a couple more people being there may have been enough to turn the tables on their attackers? Obviously we will never know for sure, but they apparently had enough problems with who was there as both Folger and Frykowski put up a tremendous fight.
You should watch 13 chairs. It’s the last film Sharon made. She’s pregnant in the movie. The last scene with her, she’s waving good bye 😢 after filming she headed home to get ready to welcome her baby boy.

I really was glued to my iPad listening and watching this! Great commentary and excellent footage of the events that occurred in August of ‘69! By the time I got back from Woodstock ‘69, in Bergen County NJ, we were no longer referred to as “flower children” but “dirty hippies” because of these horrific murders. People started locking their homes and cars. No one trusted anyone like before. I was 17 and going into my senior year of high school. I lost my babysitting job because I had long hair, wore bell bottoms, and no shoes. Not a good look anymore if you wanted to be trusted. It was the end of an era. The end of the age of innocence for me! Everybody was looking over their shoulders at the people they used to trust and care about. It was the end of the ‘60’s! The world got mean! 🚫❤️☮️✌️🕊️😔

I think because it's such a dry heat out west ac's aren't as prevalent. When I lived in Colorado in 2001 ac's weren't always in apartments. I lived in one that didn't have ac.
I’m a local and to this day a lot of homes that are older don’t have it. It’s extremely expensive to put in and they were in a rental. Most houses in the San Fernando Valley (where I live) have it out of necessity since it gets so hot here. It’s a good 10 degrees cooler in the rest of LA.
I don't even think it was available for private homes in '69. It was more for industrial buildings like stores and banks because it took up a lot of space to install and was mind blowing expensive.
In this area of LA above or north of Beverly Hills proper it is much cooler than central LA, with dense vegetation and hill and a the Ocean like 5 miles away you get cool mornings and chilly evenings, also AC wasn’t that prevalent, at least central AC. When we got it in the 70s it was kind of a thing . Concerning another poster this area and esp the specific property isn’t a “rental” area. This is a premier trophy property alway and stil today FYI

Watching this sure brings back memories, at 29:50 you talk about a news stand. That was the most famous news stand in all of LA, it sold newspapers, magazines, cigarettes, and Cigars, on all 4 corners of the intersection. If you went North on Hillhurst from there for 2 blocks, you come to Finley, make a right and go down 3 buildings you come to my Grandmothers apartment building. Lived there till I was almost 3, my parents, sister and me moved in 59. If you went 1 block South from the news stand on Hillhurst you came to my Uncles famous LA restaurant Milano's. Remember when my Uncle Ralph opened that place back in 63. It was still there in 94 the last time I was down there, don't know about now. If you went half a mile further South on Hillhurst, took a left drove a couple blocks you'd be in Silver Lake. If you took a right instead of a left, and drove a few blocks you're in Hollywood. But the news stand, and Milano's, and my Grandma's were in Los Felix, as was the LaBianca home. According to the book Helter Scelter, Manson, Watson, Atkins, and Krenwinkle were sitting in a car parked 1 block from the news stand on Hillhurst, looking for their next potential victims, when they spotted the LaBianca's at the news stand and followed their T bird towing a boat back to their house. That certainly was a famous intersection, Franklin and Hillhurst, my Grandmother used to walk right by it 6 nights a week as she used to make salads at my Uncles restaurant and walked the 3 or 4 blocks from her apartment building. It's a good thing for those Hippies sake, that they didn't spot Grandma walking that night and follow her, my Nana used to carry a meat cleaver in her coat sleeve. BTW, not to make a long story longer but here goes. My best memories of Los Felix from when I was a kid, mid 50s to 60s was of course Griffith Park and the LA Zoo. But my favorite was if you were on the Golden State Freeway and you took the Los Felix exit, as soon as you came off of the off ramp onto Los Felix Blvd there was a giant fountain there in the middle of a small park. It used to spray water 50 feet into the air, and at night they used to shine colored lights on the water plumes. So the water went from green to blue, to red, to yellow, to purple. The color changed about every 10 seconds, to a kid it was awesome, but it was grownups you'd see sitting on the benches watching the show. For the record I'd like to State that my Grandmother's apartment building was just that, she owned the 7 unit building, rented out 6 units and lived in the owners unit above the carports in the back. Then my Father took part of the carports and made another unit to make it 8. Grandma owned that building from the late 40s till her death in 72. And here's the kicker to end this story, when my immediate family moved from Los Felix in 59 we moved to Sun Valley, then in 66 you guessed it we moved to Chatsworth, were living by Tampa and Plummer almost on the Northridge borderline, and about 6 miles from Spahn Ranch. As a young teenager we used to hike the hills above Chatsworth Park, and also across Topanga Canyon Blvd at a place called Stoney Point. Thanks again for bringing back these memories....

Allie’s book tells it like it actually happened back in August 1969. Get the book, it’s all fact, no hype! Or just go to her channel and listen to her audiobooks. Either way, it’s all about Tate/LaBianca murders, the way they actually occurred! Hope this helps.

Unfortunately Helter Skelter is not the real truth. I'm at work now so I can't get into detail now, however I will make a few points later. Regardless there is quite alot straight proving the many inconsistencies. I also want to point out immediately that I am not some Charles Manson groupie, fan, excetera excetera. Nor am I saying he is 100-percent innocence and he just got setup. However from a legal standpoint and a few other standpoints oh, there is a lot of proving this all helter-skelter book was a shitshow. And I'm not talkin about it's my opinion, I'm talkin about actual videos, transcripts, police reports, etc etc etc. Also Vincent bugliosi was not a great person himself, and in fact was a real piece of s*** in life. Many don't even know that he has been arrested and charged with things such as domestic violence, threatening people, perjury, Miss handling trials, yeah there's a lot that most people have no clue even happened. I mean even his co-prosecutor Stephen Kay has Loosely made a lot of comments about it. Of course he's not going to just come out and say hey this and that, because it does not work like that, nor would it do anything helpful for his life. We can very much say this was his meal ticket and he took it to the furthest extent he could. Know what some people are going to say, the end Justified the means. However they don't! You cannot bend or break the law in pursuit of Justice. Because then you are just as bad as the criminals. Anyways I will elaborate more later

According to the book Helter Scelter, Manson, Watson, Atkins, and Krenwinkle were sitting in a car parked 1 block from the news stand on Hillhurst, looking for their next potential victims, when they spotted the LaBianca's at the news stand and followed their T bird towing a boat back to their house. That certainly was a famous intersection, Franklin and Hillhurst, my Grandmother used to walk right by it 6 nights a week as she used to make salads at my Uncles restaurant and walked the 3 or 4 blocks from her apartment building. It's a good thing for those Hippies sake, that they didn't spot Grandma walking that night and follow her, my Nana used to carry a meat cleaver in her coat sleeve.

BTW, not to make a long story longer but here goes. My best memories of Los Felix from when I was a kid, mid 50s to 60s was of course Griffith Park and the LA Zoo. But my favorite was if you were on the Golden State Freeway and you took the Los Felix exit, as soon as you came off of the off ramp onto Los Felix Blvd there was a giant fountain there in the middle of a small park. It used to spray water 50 feet into the air, and at night they used to shine colored lights on the water plumes. So the water went from green to blue, to red, to yellow, to purple. The color changed about every 10 seconds, to a kid it was awesome, but it was grownups you'd see sitting on the benches watching the show. For the record I'd like to State that my Grandmother's apartment building was just that, she owned the 7 unit building, rented out 6 units and lived in the owners unit above the carports in the back. Then my Father took part of the carports and made another unit to make it 8. Grandma owned that building from the late 40s till her death in 72. And here's the kicker to end this story, when my immediate family moved from Los Felix in 59 we moved to Sun Valley, then in 66 you guessed it we moved to Chatsworth, were living by Tampa and Plummer almost on the Northridge borderline, and about 6 miles from Spahn Ranch. As a young teenager we used to hike the hills above Chatsworth Park, and also across Topanga Canyon Blvd at a place called Stoney Point. Thanks again for bringing back these memories....

Allie’s book tells it like it actually happened back in August 1969. Get the book, it’s all fact, no hype! Or just go to her channel and listen to her audiobooks. Either way, it’s all about Tate/LaBianca murders, the way they actually occurred! Hope this helps.

Unfortunately Helter Skelter is not the real truth. I'm at work now so I can't get into detail now, however I will make a few points later. Regardless there is quite alot straight proving the many inconsistencies. I also want to point out immediately that I am not some Charles Manson groupie, fan, excetera excetera. Nor am I saying he is 100-percent innocence and he just got setup. However from a legal standpoint and a few other standpoints oh, there is a lot of proving this all helter-skelter book was a shitshow. And I'm not talkin about it's my opinion, I'm talkin about actual videos, transcripts, police reports, etc etc etc. Also Vincent bugliosi was not a great person himself, and in fact was a real piece of s*** in life. Many don't even know that he has been arrested and charged with things such as domestic violence, threatening people, perjury, Miss handling trials, yeah there's a lot that most people have no clue even happened. I mean even his co-prosecutor Stephen Kay has Loosely made a lot of comments about it. Of course he's not going to just come out and say hey this and that, because it does not work like that, nor would it do anything helpful for his life. We can very much say this was his meal ticket and he took it to the furthest extent he could. Know what some people are going to say, the end Justified the means. However they don't! You cannot bend or break the law in pursuit of Justice. Because then you are just as bad as the criminals.
