People have been asking me for months for a video to save money at Dollar Tree, so if you enjoyed this video, please give it a THUMBS UP as it helps me in the RUclips algorithm and subscribe! 😀 What are some of your Dollar Tree hacks and secrets??👇 Comment Below 👇
Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video. I have ordered from them online and had it delivered free to my local store but there are some items they will only ship to your home. I'm also glad you told people that we they don't always have to buy in bulk online because I watched another video about shopping online at Dollar Tree and they didn't tell people that.
From a Dollar Tree Addict, 😜 You Nailed It!! Great Advice! If you are lucky enough to find a good store with great employees, count your blessings!! 🥰❤️🤗
Didn't know about the coupons, THANK YOU!! I always use coupons but never thought to use them at dollar tree. These days every single penny you can save adds up. I happen to be on an extremely tight budget lately so I thank you, my family thanks you and my pocket thanks you for all you do!!! We Love you too! ❤️
I agree about checking out different Dollar Tree stores in your area. I have 3 and one is a total mess, one is okay, and one is perfectly clean. Kind of like Goldie Locks, I found one that's just right! 🤣
Just saw the same sprinkles in my store's clearance yesterday! Great tips...I stock up on customer appreciation day and those coupons usually work at Family Dollar too😉When buying online...ship to store FREE! Better stores tend to have flowers and hula hoops outside😉Not all holidays clearance like Christmas, they have to stock signs and decor because they never ship back to warehouse to keep low prices!! Only Valentines candy will clearance at mine😢 My best tip: know and talk to your DT managers👌🏾Tyfs❤🙏🏾
This was a really good video! For notebooks, I have seen them around back to school at Staples for as little as $0.25! My other tip, most stores put their discount areas as far away from the front of the store as possible. That way customers have to walk past all the regular priced items to get there. Target puts them on the end caps at the back of the aisle. I’ve even walked into a clothing store for the first time and headed to the back and found the things on sale. Works almost every time!! Also, the more expensive the store, most of the time, the better the discount. Saks Fifth Avenue had great discounts. When I worked downtown I was in there all the time and found great deals on quality items. Keep smiling!! 😊
I work at dollar tree, your dollar tree is set up different than one up here, we have the clearance up by the registers, we finally got new registers and now are store looks great, I've worked for dollar tree for 5yrs now , love my job...
Oh my goodness, what fantastic advice about purchase timing, seasonal info, Walmart comparisons on certain categories, stocking shcedules, etc. GREAT video! (well, all of your videos are great, some just stand out to me more than others, due to not knowing the rules!). I appreciate you Matt! The time and effort you put into informing us is precious!
@@thedealguy It is true!!! Hope you feel all the love & appreciation your subscribers genuinely have for you! I know I myself have been watching you between 2-3 years, and have learned SO much I had no idea about before!!! We can't Thank You enough for ALL the research you do to help us get the most bang for our buck!!! God Bless You & Your Precious Family!! ✝️
Dollar Tree's shelves are often bare because the stores are so understaffed. I'm sure the back rooms are piled high with unopened boxes of new stock, but there's never enough staff to actually re-stock the shelves. I've been seeing this for the last couple of years here in Colorado Springs, and I feel sorry for the over-worked (and under-paid) staff who are trying to keep the ship afloat.
Way back in 2008, I binge shopped at the dollar tree to furnish the first place I lived in. I filled two carts and spent like $150. It was in NH so there was no sales tax. Just stuff 🤭 that place was my little heaven for so many years. These videos really bring me back
WOW. Thank you Matt. I’ve never even thought of this way of shopping. You’ve always shown us deals & discounts but this is wonderful. I’m grateful for your support, kindness, generosity as well as your understanding. Just 1 more suggestion again, can’t you please find the craft store Michaels. We can all use your detailed smart shopping & your daughter will love it 🥰
Thank you so much Matt! You are the best! Love the tips you are offering in this video. Yes, stay away from DT can food department not only because of the price but always check the expiration date and be careful with the bumped ones and the risk for botulism.
hi the deal guy 🤗 i always enjoy watching your videos. you provide the best tips and tricks to buying and saving at warehouse, big box and discount stores. i just want to say thank you and let you know how much i really appreciate the time and effort you put in each video and the dedication you show towards all of us through this yt channel. all the very best to you and yours. cheers to the continued growth and success of this channel and all your endeavors. have a blessed day. now, let me get ready for a dollar (25) tree shopping trip.
This probably sounds silly, but my favorite part of your videos is your outro! That "I love you. Bye-bye" with a wave... always makes me smile. Thanks for the info you share and the joy you spread.
Of course, if you are buying something that supposed to be on clearance, pay attention at the register, because they often don't change the prices in the computer. Even for holiday clearance items, some of the items still ring up at the regular prices.
Wow I always learn something new with you! Thanks! That DVD tip was helpful and we have family that are intense crafters so they always purchase after all the holidays. After Christmas they bought tons of Red and Green ribbons. They made Valentine’s Day wreathes with the red and will be making St. Patrick’s day wreathes with the green!
Fantastic info! Thanks! I will look for toys in the summer for the Christmas shoe boxes we fill for children around the world through Samaritan's Purse.
The stacked carts of loose boxes are stacked so high that they appear to pose a falling hazard. This might be particularly true if small children are allowed to be around the vicinity and are playing. I cautioned my Dollar Tree regarding this when they had so many carts at one time that many of the aisles were blocked. Although I understand that Dollar Tree doesn't always have the requisite employees to unstack the boxes immediately, customer (and employee!) safety should always be a priority.
Maybe they changed their policy but Dollar tree last told me that there was no deadline to exchange items. They said they don't accept returns but always take exchanges as long as we have the receipt. So one year I bought a bunch of supplies for a vision board party but didnt use all the sissors and glue, etc so I was able to exchange the supplies for something else several months later. Thanks for all the other tips such as customer appreciation day!
Wow that’s amazing! I just wanted to stick to the rules of 30 days for the video, but I have heard they may accept them after the fact. Thanks letting everyone know!
Every time I go to the DT in my area, I don't know why since they never have anything, I ask the manager when are they getting their deliveries, to date, I have received 3 different answers. Seriously, you spend more time trying to get the stuff, then actually getting it. Yes, they re truly ALL OVER THE PLACE. Ms. B. Churchill
What a great job you did on this video! You dropped a lot of info I did not know and will be looking for the next time I'm in the Dollar Tree. I knew about the canned goods and the box mixes - but I did NOT know about the "Clearance Section" (but perhaps my store doesn't have one). Another thing this particular video --- I have never ordered online from Dollar Tree, but your information has inspired me to look there as well. We love you Matt!!
Amazing idea about the instacart. I have a terrible impulsion to buy when I walk through a store. This is a great suggestion. Thank you ❤️ Thank you. Love from Texas
Hey Deal Guy! I'm 29 and recently married and my husband and I love to be cost effective. Your videos (I hope) will help me so much in the future and I really appreciate you putting this information out there!!! Thanks so much for doing this. Please do a Meijer vs Walmart video! We used to shop at Walmart but have recently begun shopping at Meijer. We spend less or equal to what we used to get at Walmart but with better/wider variety, better deals and a cleaner experience.
Aww I just love these videos. I loved the hacks and although I am in Canada I often see items you have mentioned. One thing that I particularly live in my Dollar Tree is Christian cards. All seasons if one's life. We use Dollar Tree for our Subday School and often find wonderful items that work really well with our theme. Have a great day! You have brought lots of smiles to my face today.
The blu ray digital codes do sometimes have expiry dates on them. I've bought blu rays from Amazon of older movies and they've already expired for the digital copy.
What's annoying is they always ask you do you want a receipt. If you don't have a receipt you can exchange an item so just give people the receipt and quit asking I always get a receipt in case I need to return some
Dollar Tree charges exorbitant shipping fees. If you want to ship, sign up for email and they do $5 shipping every now and again or set it up for store pick up for free.
Great hacks! Dollar Tree definitely does its restocking on Fridays. I stopped by my local DT this past Friday around 1:00 pm. I was unable to shop all the aisles because associates were restocking with huge carts that almost completely blocked some aisles. I would have been better off leaving and coming back a few hours later.
I agree with the price on can items except the Bumble Bee albacore tuna, at my Walmart the price for the same size can is $1.75. So you can save .50 at Dollar Tree for this item. I love all your RUclipss. Thank you.
One thing I've found that's a great deal in the office/school supplies aisle are two packs of top-bound, college ruled notepads for $5. For some reason, the top-bound notepads are always priced higher.
I’ve also noticed in my area that different dollar trees have different decor and dishes. Example at thanksgiving there were two different but similar dishes in my local dollar trees

yes ever since Dollar Tree increased their prices to $1.25, i've noticed there are many things which make better sense to buy at Walmart
1.50 here in Canada
I always thought those green baskets were for re-shelving! Now I’m going to check them out next trip
Same here!
Yep. Me too.
I agree about checking out different Dollar Tree stores in your area. I have 3 and one is a total mess, one is okay, and one is perfectly clean. Kind of like Goldie Locks, I found one that's just right! 🤣
That’s usually the case 😂
Same here with my local dollar trees.
Every year Staples has great prices on "back to school" items. The spiral notebooks, for example, can be 4/$1.
Exactly Walmart also has the notebooks 4 for a dollar and if you need to you can order them from pickup too

Amazing tips! Thank you Cheray!
YAY! An "extra" Dollar Store video! These are my favorite, even if I can't always find a specific item. Thanks for all you do for us Matt! ❤️
😳 Just when you think you know it all about Dollar Tree… You have out done yourself Matt. Thank you!

Same at my local Dollar Tree. The staff are great but overworked.
Halloween & fall stuff usually shows up in our Dollar Tree in the summer, Christmas shows up in August as well as Back to School, etc.
Same with my store. Easter items have been there since the middle of January.
