Alexandria, Virginia (Old Town, Del Ray, Potomac Yards)

We’re taking it back to April 2019 today to check out our Onsite episode 10: Alexandria!
Alexandria is the 7th largest independent city in the commonwealth of Virginia with many distinct neighborhoods such as Old Town, Del Ray and Potomac Yards. Alexandria is well known for its historic Old Town that dates back to colonial times.
The story has it that the city was named and founded around the time of a dispute between Lord Fairfax and a group of local business men including George Washington’s older brother who wanted a trading port.
