- Amidst nationwide protests in the U.S. over the death of George Floyd and biased policing, a pocket of Seattle has emerged as a police-free zone.
Protesters have occupied an entire city block of the Capitol Hill Neighborhood, including a police station. They started out calling it the 'Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone' or CHAZ.

I just want to remind all that when you create an “autonomous zone,” you don’t get to demand a long list of supplies from the orderly capitalist society that you are rebelling against. Kind of defeats the meaning of “autonomous.”

They had multiple shootings in there. The police wanted to help the victims, but weren't allowed to. The medics didn't enter the zone because it wasn't safe for them, because no police was on scene. So they waited outside, ready to enter if it was peaceful again, which didn't happen so the gunshot victim died on scene.

@@maximuselizardo there was a spike of crime when this happened because the cops literally couldn't come to stop it, and the people in charge were too incompetent to handle it.
Regardless of what you think of this, it is a fact that police murder inocent people that are being nonthreatening every day and are not brought to justice.

The protest security want peace without police -- they too should *grant that right to the public.* They are not trained in law enforcement, nor military work. *They do not have any authority.* If things come to a head between members of the public and the faux security, the *CHOP security will lose* -- big time -- and will *jeopardize many.* It is better to have COPS than CHOPS!
