Thank you, thank you, we have a 'newer' one than pictured from when we needed it for the new dogs in 2005. I remember it being $350 at the time, so we really didn't want to throw it away. (Look for a 'Repair Cafe' near you!) It was easier to clean than yours as the front clear cover comes off (2 screws). I cleaned all the gaskets, tightened the tiny spring for the whatever it does flapper, checked the suction at every step along the way, and WOW! Even my wife is happy.
Thanks for helping us assembly the hose with confidence. My husband and myself assembled most of the parts following the instructions on the manual and although we attached the hose as instructed, we were not so sure we did it right but now we are sure. So thanks. Our steamvacplus is now ready for use.
Very helpful but wasn’t my problem. The white rubber collar that is attached to the unit and the suction tank slides into had become detached and out of sight in the workings of the machine. I retrieved it, cleaned it and slide it back on. Great suction again now. I wouldn’t have noticed it had become dislodged without your video.
To clean out the lint way up under that clear shield, I use my long thin plastic piece I use to get hair out of the drain. It has plastic points on each side to catch hair and I pull it out. This works great for my Hoover too! . I probably got it at Walmart
I did the cleaning of the debris and brushes on mine because of the no suction and 3 hours later it was done! Might be a little better with his tool he improvised with. I just wonder, are there any easier model's these days to maintain and clean the unit after usage's? It sure seems like an engineer could devise some of the air passages that cause the debris to have them taken out for an easy cleaning.
thank you for sharing these tips :) when it was time for the final test ("Place a cup of water down on a non-carpeted area..") i must admit i was watching in disbelief when I saw you place the cup on the floor, for a moment there I thought you were actually going to try run the steam vac right over it cup and all LOL
So you don't take the Plastic See Thru Guide Off? You just stick that hanger into it to remove the Gunk stuck up in there? There was another video that should how to remove that, BUT the caution was the screws may not screw in correctly because of the plastic. THX for the video.
Awesome video brother this will save my unit I just need to quit lending it to people because the last few times I did they brought it back to me filthy as Fk🤣✌️ lesson learned.
Hi, this looks like the exact model I have. I bought my Hoover Steam Vac Ultra in 1999. The other day, I was in the process of putting it back together to store, since everything was dry. I dropped the Recovery Tank. All the parts separated: handle, hinges on either side. From what I can tell, it will still work just fine, but I’m having trouble knowing which hinge goes on what side of the tank. Is there any way you can show me up close how they’re attached? Thank you so much!
So you can easily just undo the screws from underneath, and that whole thing comes off and you can literally just wash it out. Or if there’s no suction push the ball down
i cleaned those area, still no suction! Is the machine done? I paid about $200 for the machine from sears maybe 20 years ago, not worth repairing! any helpful thoughts before i toss?
A good example of why you should vacuum floors before using carpet cleaner. It’s much easier to empty vacuum cleaner than clean out the carpet cleaner. What a messy job you had!!
What are you the hall monitor of the bully sound police! Go to bed. They are just trying to give corrective cryt. That's ok they did it in a nice way they were not rude. Well you help him since he's your DADDY

I have the same model, they're damn good carpet cleaners. Had mime for 19 years now.

Good stuff , I also take the clear shield off on the front for better cleaning of the unit by removing if I recall correctly four screws ; )

This made the whole family laugh lol 😂😂😂
you boughy yours in 1999 and it still works ? WOW , i want one .
Use an air compressor to blast all the gunk out of the brushes. Fast and easy.

Good 👍🏻 video . This happens cause you need to vacuum first then rug clean but it will need a cleaning regardless in time.
Thank you found the door for stair attachment was ajar.
OMG, worked like a charm. Thank you so much for sharing. You just saved me the price of a new carpet shampooed.

What cleaning solution do you use
A good example of why you should vacuum floors before using carpet cleaner. It’s much easier to empty vacuum cleaner than clean out the carpet cleaner. What a messy job you had!!
Thank you! I will try that!
Take one screw out on front, turn over two more. Com s off and can be cleaned
Taking screws off worked perfectly!
thank you for your tutorial , it really helped me out
What happens when a never used brand new machine blows OUT warm air instead of sucking in.
How to change the belt
Dude thanks
Excellent thank you
Has anyone had the problem with the hose behind the recovery tank becoming disconnected??? Any idea of a fix???
Or y’all could just remove 3 screws and remove that shield
