I think the Mercedes will have better technology and smoother ride than the Range, and probably feel more sporty in the corners. But they are both similarly priced Euro luxury vehicles and will probably be similar in terms of ride, maintenance, ownership, etc. I think the Mercedes has a slight edge on the Range Sport if you're okay with it being lower to the ground.

The slight throttle lag is because the turbos have to spool up.
It's different from turbo lag. You can tell the actual throttle mapping is tuned softer.
