Norman Blake is one of the best flatpickers around, he makes it look so easy, his style is very unique, there is only one Norman Blake, love the guitars 🎸 too!
That right hand! Liquid gold. Without exaggeration I have watched and listened to this video 100 times, enough so that every note is ingrained within me. Today, after all that time I finally started playing it. It may take another 1000 times to get it right but if I live long enough I'll get it all.
You can listen to 100 people play cattle in the cane and Norman’s version is the only one that sounds like this. It’s so unique.
Norman’s right hand technique is second to none.
@@scottbaxendale323absolutely agreed!

Totally agree. He's on the Mt. Rushmore of flatpickers indeed!
National Treasure.... Real Americana

There is no "right."
@@alan4surethere are two in the video above😁
I worked on this guitar right before Norman bought it. 1934 D-18S.
@@scottbaxendale323❤️ and perhaps you knew my buddy David Santo....
They both make it look so easy and natural to play.
Great playing; magnificent guitars.
Wonderful to see and hear them play together, thank you.
Norman & Nancy Blake are AWESOME musicians and vocalist , Love to listen to them play Thank you so much Canada
Seems to be more Bluegrass than "Old-Time Country Music" A really great version also I'd say.
dang That was beautiful Thanks
The GOAT…
He may play the lead but Nancy is the star
She knows how to make him sound great.
Totally agree.
She’s a really great and underrated rhythm guitar player. She accents his playing so well.
Dad has always said that Nancy was a much better natural musician than he is.
@@leeblake3989 Do you play? I'm sure you got some of those genes!?
Wow!
I love wide fretboards
Awsome!
Wonderful!
💟
RIGHTEOUS
@@joannehack7588 Amen!🙏
Why did they all start clapping in middle of him playing?
they were applauding..
@T DUB but they clapped after the second B part. They should have clapped when he started cattle in the cane.
Somebody was having such a good time they started clapping. Clapping is contagious.
They wanted it to end and then rush the stage for Norman’s apples and pumpkins
