So glad to see your post. Thanks gain for your support. Let me know what kind of content you'd like to see on Patreon. I'm recording a new episode talking about the information on the Aptera Investor Presentation and my personal view as an investor. I was thinking to post the rough cut version on Patreon first since it's going to take significantly longer to polish it up for RUclips. This way the Patrons get a first look at the next episode at least few days before it gets to RUclips. Let me know what you think.
Aptera has made right to repair a core value of their brand. Tesla, meanwhile, has sought to limit access to spare parts by independent garages. Using Tesla parts would require that Tesla be willing to provide access to spares to Aptera owners/servicers. Would they be?
Not necessarily. Many Tesla parts are made by third parties. Depending on the situation there, Those manufacturers might still be able to sell the same parts but under a different part number.
Elon doesn't care much for small EVs especially the 3-wheeled EVs so I don't think they'll be taking a position in Aptera; but they likely will sell them parts and services.
The Aptera founders lost control of their company the first time. They won't take that risk again. Aptera also has some IP that could be of interest to Tesla and there are talks going on in several areas of potential cooperation. We will know more when the NDAs expire.
@@apterareboot1555 I know Elon doesn't like motorcycles - I didn't know he disliked three wheelers too. It would help the Tesla Mission if they helped other EV startups like Aptera and Arcimoto become successful as they are not competing with Tesla products.
True for commuting, the Lit C-1 with a gyro would be my first choice but and Aptera with gyro and two wheels would be a strong contender at 33% less rolling resistance and tilt ability. Room for a pod under the seating area in front of the wheel tower would just swell the belly slightly until solid state improves and then placed where the battery is no longer needed.
Good editing, but your lead in is way toooooooooooo looooooooooooong. At 2:45 minutes before any content is discussed, will cause a lot of people to click away. You have to capture your viewers interest right off the bat to increase viewership, not put them to sleep. Cheers.
They will have to be maintained or replaced at some point , according to the RUclips interview aptera had with them, but the company is working on permanent seals Etc
I agree that right now it's all about bringing a quality vehicle to market as quickly as possible. But collaborations also mean bottlenecks and quality issues you don't have direct control over. I'm pretty sure the Aptera team are mindful of this and have contingencies to deal with parts issues.
@@apterareboot1555 Yes, you are, of course, correct. I merely am lamenting how difficult it is to get on board the EV revolution with the income of the average person. I would have a Tesla today if I could afford the payments, and the Aptera is a beautiful machine. But until the costs come down a bit, the market will remain small. One of the ads RUclips inserted into my view of this video was for a Ram pickup, ironically.
I think Aptera and Tesla should be partners; Tesla provides Aptera auto pilots and other program, Aptera will provide Tesla the technical hardwares, and aerodynamic information for small affordable cars. That way both will save money and times for R&D
If they can use the Tesla charging network and be compatible (ie they have an agreement to use their systems) it would dramatically improve the chances that their product would be more acceptable to those on the fence.
Elon has stated he doesn't consider 3-wheeled vehicles safe so is not interested in working with makers. However, 3rd party deals for parts or charging infrastructure may be a different scenario.
The Cybertruck is under 80" wide which barely fits into their tunnel. And there was talk that Elon is shrinking the Cybertruck 3% to better fit in the tunnel. The Aptera is 88" wide. Not that most Aptera owners would really be badly disappointed by not fitting into the Vegas tunnel.
I was an early Aptera lover hoping the philosophy would be tech for driver benefit rather than tech for non-driver benefit, or worse, tech for Tech's sake. I am extremely put off by the oversized touch screen, a reason I won't even consider a Tesla, and hadn't realized you were going in that direction. I wish you great success with your chosen market, but sorry, I won't be along for the ride.
I actually like a large screen size for safety reasons (within reason). A lot of people make changes to radio and other setting while driving so having a screen with large easy to read fonts and icons is pretty crucial. Can't change people much but you can change technology to keep more people safe.
The entire Aptera philosophy is efficiency and reduced parts count. The screen eliminates many small parts and improves speed of assembly and decreases cost.
Suggestion - speed it up. I get bored because it moves too slowly and there’s superfluous content. No little musical interludes. Start with the topic of your video right away.
Hey Budy. I signed up for your Patreo. Are you going to post anything there?

I think such a collaboration could not only be mutually beneficial, but vital to help refine the Aptera.
Tesla should buy a stake in Aptera and fund their growth.
Elon doesn't care much for small EVs especially the 3-wheeled EVs so I don't think they'll be taking a position in Aptera; but they likely will sell them parts and services.

@@SmartMart1658 of course Arcimoto and Aptera are not in the same market, either, and don't really compete.

Fully support a Tesla alliance in any capacity
Hope Aptera looks to Tesla as not just a parts supplier, but more of a partner.
Aptera is in talks with Tesla under NDA's for technology sharing in several areas. We should know more in a few months.

Appreciate the feedback. Will make changes to improve content.
Great video man. Liked and subbed.
Much appreciated!
I think this would be wonderful...Especially since I own a Model S and am an Aptera customer..
Another idea: in wheels built in electric motors should have no maintenance (no seals to be replaced)
They will have to be maintained or replaced at some point , according to the RUclips interview aptera had with them, but the company is working on permanent seals Etc
Great editing, but I feel like there is alot of filler in this video.
I didn't feel that way about your previous videos.
Thanks for the input. Still testing out what works well for me. I'll take it into consideration.
Just an idea: charging port on the side instead on the back will spare space. Particularly important in small european parking spaces
If a collaboration will help to decrease the costs of ownership, I'm all for it.

This is awesome!
Elon has stated he doesn't consider 3-wheeled vehicles safe so is not interested in working with makers. However, 3rd party deals for parts or charging infrastructure may be a different scenario.
True.
I want to see a four person car
The next Aptera model will be a 4 wheel, 5 passenger model.
They have plans to produce a wide array of vehicles. But....plans depend on this project.
I wonder if aptera can go in the boring tunnels
I think that it is too wide 😕
I'm pretty sure it can. I saw Elon drive a Cybertruck in there so the Paradigm should easily fit.
How well would AC work with limited radiator? Love car.
The radiator will not really be limited, just different. Due to the foam filled construction on the body, the heat loads are less, as well.
Yes want
It would be awesome if they got access to tesla charging station
I wonder if Aptera will be lighter and cheaper with 4680 batteries.
The thumbnail picture look like a Lightyear One. :-P
I didn't think about that but now I can kind of see it.

... and I love large touch screens 😀

Otherwise they’re great videos, so if you fix this one thing they’ll be even better.
Thanks for the feedback. Less than a month into YouTubing so I'm still figuring it out,.
Dat thumbnail tho
Like all good things, you'll grow to love it more.
Tesla should buy aptera, lower the price by half and sell it as a motorcycle.
No!
Playing @ 2x due to excessively loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooonngggg intro and slowish talker.
The moment I heard the thumping music I gave you a thumbs down.
