I realized asking them for their budget is bad, they will always say it's low no matter how big the company. Just charge if you are above their budget they will let know, if not they will accept your charge.
This is incredible Justin, like really! So informative beyond words! You taught things I never even thought of and straight to the point as well. All I can say is thank you so much and I look forward to your future content!
Wow Justin! I love this new channel and will definitely be watching for tips and business advice! If I’m ever into family vlogging I know who to come to. I would love to see any tips on monetizing and SEO. And more of what brands want to see! Maybe what kind of media kit etc!
Thanks for the awesome info! I’m curious as to how you price the brand. Do you have a tier system according to the size of the brand? It makes sense that you would charge less for local smaller brands vs regional or National brands. Thanks in advance for your help!
A good rule of thumb is to go on LinkedIn and see how many employees are listed as working at that company. Anything < 50 employees I would consider small! 50-250 medium, and 250+ large!
Thanks so much for this Justin! Question- I just passed 10k subscribers and have gotten a few companies approaching me for brand deals but haven’t accepted any yet. I really don’t know where to start- how do I find a baseline number to start with for a dedicated video vs an ad placement? Thank you so much for your help!!
Wow! This is incredible, Justin! April shared this in her IG story, checked it out and I was hooked in seconds. You are an absolute wiz and Creator Wizard is s step in the right direction. I found myself wanting more. Can you kindly create content on growing a brand. I'm not at the place of paid partnerships yet, but I am positioning my (potential) *brand* to get there. Providing value will always remain my priority... sponsorships on the side will be great too. Looove the Moore family. Thank you guys!
So much valuable information. Any suggestions on creating a Media Kit when you haven't working with any brands yet and have a small subscriber base. Thanks
Glad it was helpful! In the beginning your media kit could just be a 1-pager talking about the types of content you make, maybe a few links to some stand out videos, and your audience demographics. =)
Hey Justin, thanks! This was really helpful. I'm really struggling to figure out where to even start pricing myself though. Do you have any tips for a general rule or baseline for where someone can start based on their average views, subs, or anything else?
Thank you Justin! I just recently asked a friend if a brand I was interested in paid her. Great idea to ask how much. I keep running into challenges being in Canada. It’s clear being a creator in the USA is much easier. I have so many brand deals fall through do to living in Canada. Strangely enough the brands willing to pay are locals. They likely don’t have a big budget. The bigger brands are either dishonest about their budget or just wanting to send freebies for now. I will keep pushing and find the great Canadian brands to partner with.
Thanks for your perspective Nancy! Totally hear you that there is a lot of opportunity for U.S.-based creators but I'm convinced there will be more and more opps for int'l creators in the months and years to come!
@@CreatorWizard I agree. And where there are no opportunities we must make them. I will be busy over here introducing Chilliwack to influencer marketing.
We have our first possible brand that wants to do a paid Collab. Is there a difference between us as the RUclips channel paying to promote the video or them paying to promote the video?
Such a cool intro! 🙌🏼 Thank you so much for sharing this information! That’s a good idea to not have prices in the media kit. Will change that now lol Thanks Justin!
Great information Justin. What are your thoughts on a small creator getting a “free” product in exchange for a mention in a video? The company has specific topics and is asking a 2 min mention. How do I determine its “worth”?
Two ways to look at it: if you really like the product and you would have purchased it anyway, why not? Especially if it helps build up your portfolio of brand partnerships. On the other hand, if they are asking for a ton of other things like usage rights, paid media rights, tons of edits, etc, maybe not? Perhaps evaluate how long you think the whole thing will take you and whether the juice is worth the squeeze!
Bro Ilive in Mexico and things are a little different(more difficult) . And second many times when i reach a brand the ones that answer are a marketing agency o a PR agency and they feel attacked... meaning they close the doors/the opportunity is gone. Can you provide me with some help? I even offer my prospects a 360 =Blog, SM,videos, magazine. And even with all that things dont flow. Nevertheless grateful for your content. 👌
Question: how/when should you get management? How do you get good management, there are a lot of horror stories of bad experiences such as not doing anything. Charging and not helping or investing any effort ect.. ? How to not get taken advantage of by a brand and or managment? Please and thank you Ok love this video, not to many like it thank you.
Btw, Justin-- you spoke a bit fast in this video. Can you kindly lessen the speed please? You're sharing a lot of useful info and I don't want to miss any point. Actually... I just recalled that I could just reduce the speed of the video myself. 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️

Thanks so much for watching!!
Love your work Man!! Let's watch you grow big. My question is who(what position e.g marketer etc) should I reach to in a brand when I pitch.
Great question! The best titles are things like "Influencer Marketing Manager," "Influencer Partnerships," "Influencer Coordinator" etc.
