Taffy is played by Liza Soberano, a very famous Philippine actress, and she was incredible portraying the character!
I think the dad in this is the same actor who plays Mike and Nancy's dad in Stranger Things. That dad and this dad are pretty much the same. There, but absent minded and spineless too.
I had no idea Carla Gugino was going to be in this and honeyyyy she ate down like always. Kathryn Newton slayed again. I’m in need of a Husband of Lisa Frankenstein sequel 😩😩😩
Liza freaking slayed it as Taffy, when I heard the announcement that she was in this movie, I thought she was just gonna be a side character, I was pleasantly surprised to see how important her character was.
It's nice that you appreciated the actor that played Taffy. This is her first acting project in US. I hope she keeps it up.
This movie also refers to the classic black-and-white movie Bride of Frankenstein
I absolutely love Taffy and I think Lisa's dynamic with her is such a crucial part of this movie. Loved this reaction. The reception to this one has been pretty polarizing (as is typical of a Diablo Cody joint), but the girls that get it, REALLY get it. The "Dammit Janet" reference was so perfect, I was tickled.

I saw this movie with friends the other day at my local theater and we had the whole place to ourselves. We got to talk and laugh as much as we wanted. Halfway through, someone said "Why does that look like Cole Sprouse?" Girl, because it is 😂 Sadly, I found out yesterday that the theater is closing down. I've been going there for literally 30 years and now I'll always cherish my Lisa Frankenstein experience. 💗 This movie gave me Warm Bodies, Beetlejuice and Edward Scissorhands vibes and I loved it. Definitely teared up at the end when "The Creature" could finally speak and we see he rescued Lisa. ❤🩹

Kathryn Newton is a modern scream queen I just love her ever since Paranornal Activity 4.
Also Liza Soberano who played Taffy I love seeing her here. I love her as an actress and watched all of her movies and show from the Philippines. It's nice seeing her in a movie out of her elements especially most of her works would be rom-com.
Cole Sprouse is such an attractive zombie ❤️ also for an almost dialogue-less character he did an amazing job especially with his movements.
I love this movie, and definitely now my favourite.
P.S. Quick history lesson: Freshen Up gum had a liquid center, so that's what you see oozing out from between their fingers in the dream scene. 🤣

The actress playing Taffy is actually a famous actress in the Philippines, Liza Soberano. She’s really good, I’m so happy seeing her in Hollywood cause I watch her films and series growing up. ❤❤❤❤ Can’t wait to see more of her.

Any chance you'll also do Poor Things with Emma Stone? It will require some heavy editing however. It's not exactly a horror movie, but it does have horror elements. It has a very Wes Anderson like feel and is just an interesting movie.
Kathryn is gorgeous as it is but she looked so so good as Lisa, really suited her 🖤. So excited to see the most entertaining pair react to this one ❤️.

I was basically on the same train of thought at the end part with you! I don’t know what the ending is and it is a FIRST from watching all predictable rom-coms. The ending served!!!

So far, I've not seen anyone notice that the ax murderer who killed her mom was wearing a bride of Frankenstein mask. Also, every body part they take correlates to how that person did her wrong. Not listening, getting to handsy and "cheating".

There's something really one of a kind and special about this film. And there's something really special and one of a kind about Zelda Williams. I guess the apple truly doesn't fall far from the tree💜
So many friends of mine worked on this movie so to hear y’all talk about how well the lighting is and such warms my heart! Zelda is a wonderful human and we all can’t wait to see what she does next!
This movie had be sobbing in the cinema. I didn’t expect to be so moved by the love story in a horror comedy.
On a side note is it the lights or is there glitter on your eyes? If it is glitter… do it more! It’s STUNNING.
Completely agree about the love story!! Never quite seen a romantic horror movie done quite like this but this movie is absolutely the blueprint!! And yes it’s glitter on our eyes, thank you!! We were just playing around with it but it ended up looking pretty cute! 🥰

I like the concept & movie is really cute. But I wanted more info to fill it out. Perhaps some flashbacks in his era. He wouldn't have to speak. - How did he die? How did he lose his hand? How did Lisa's mom really die (specifically)? *Edit: He lost his hand & died due to a bolt of lightning? I'd rather have seen live acting of the past events. And it would have been really cool if Carla Gugino (Janet) had killed Lisa's mom. In the hospital, after a down-played break-in attack.
I don't think Janet had Lisa's mom killed because Lisa's dad doesn't seem to be a "catch". Diablo probably thought of that while writing the screenplay, but didn't want to down that road.

The whole time I was watching this movie I was like wtf am I watching??? Kind of Iconic.
I wonder if the trauma of what happened to her mother turned Lisa into a psychopath or if she was one all along? She’s so blasé about the killings and being with a murderer lol. But I loved the entire thing!

If you liked this movie you might like Warm Bodies! It's a Romeo and Juliet reskin into a zombie apocalypse... It's really really good! It's got slightly less comedy than this movie... But I think a touch more romance, IMO. Its great. Super comfort watch for me.
But also I totally agree I kind of really want THIS movie to have a sequel! There just wasn't enough romance for me! I mean the interactions that they have are great but they're very platonic for the most part...
