The last 5 minutes of Hearts Alive has to be the best ending to a metal song, ever. I remember seeing them live once and the pit that was going just stopped for the solo because everyone had to watch Brent Hard to believe he doesnt write his solos out he just shows up and plays it a couple times and thats what goes on the albums
This album is a masterpiece beginning to end man. Seabeast, Hearts Alive, and Iron Tusk are my favorite outros of all time along with all the ones on Blood Mountain
Really glad you liked Heart's Alive. The contrast between the slow, foreboding parts, and the build up until Bill just explodes with those vocals and the guitars might be my favorite Mastodon moments.
@@highfeller Clutch is some real fun stoner metal and they bounce around from album to album in terms of sound. Sometimes they lean more stoner rock, sometimes blues rock, and sometimes some hard and heavy slow groove metal. The album Blast Tyrant is a great place to start, or for you, maybe Earth Rocker. ruclips.net/video/8u26AivyrVg/видео.html
I would recommend what Kevin wrote above. Robot hive/Exodus and self titled are also really good albums. As for songs, you can't go past Burning Beard, Cyprus Grove, Soap Makers, Earth Crusher or Electric Worry. Hope that helps my man, keep up the good work. Much respect from Australia 🤙
So now you got the back 4 right? The Hunter (trippy hard rock I guess), Once more round the Sun (Very trippy rock), Emperor of Sand (a kind of rediscovering of some old sound but blended w new ideas), and Hushed and Grim (not just an album of hilights or caricatures of past work, but expanding their Horizons) And Cold Dark Place EP came out in 2017 too, very cool work on there as well
oh and don't forget that if you like Brent's guitar writing and his voice then make sure to check out their Cold Dark Place EP. correct me if I'm wrong but it was primarily written by Brent
Damn man, I was so sad to see the aqua dementia reaction removed, I didn't get to watch the entire video yet but stupid ceo woman had to shut it down, btw how was aqua dementia?

Heart’s Alive is an instant classic ! One of my favourite songs from them so far. And yeah that moment you are talking about is sooo goood 🤘
MEGALODON is a hell of a song
That riff after the banjo is nuts !
I forget how good this album is. The album that got me into Mastodon.
That album is crazy !!
At 39:53 Mastodon took you into the MUSICAL REALM! Hearts Alive transcends music
FINALLY someone reacts to island
I think More Than I Could Chew from Hushed and Grim is my favorite outro to date
Curious about that album
@@highfeller I think you’ll love it but it’s an outro/solo and I know how much you love Brent’s epic solos. You’ll never want it to end.
If I'm to recommend a song from HAG based on its outro, it'd certainly be Pain With An Anchor
The mighty Neil Fallon who is the lead singer to the amazing band Clutch sang in Blood and Thunder.
Oh my man which song do you recommend from Clutch ? I’ve heard from that band but I don’t know anything about them hahaha

Yeah man ! I’m going to do the rest of the discography in the chronological order so next one is The Hunter I guess

Aqua dementia was cool ! Man RUclips is blocking every reaction that I publish now 😭
Sea Beast outtro tho is the best.
Island is probably my favorite. It's just so fucking aggressive man. Who needs to beat their wives when you have this record?
HAIL, PEOPLE OF ICELAND
