as someone with ADHD, hearing the drums in the wolf is loose was so fucking AMAZING! i love this pure adrenaline and nonstop energy. not to mention the tempo changes are incredible!
I think Blood Mountain is a great introduction to Mastodon. This is the album that sent me down the rabbit hole and made me fall in love with them. I really love All of their albums I think you’ll enjoy the journey 🤘🏻
@@highfellerit would depend honestly both of those are REALLY heavy albums. I personally prefer Leviathan over Remission. I think it will really throw you for a loop when you listen to Crack the Skye though. Their songs become EVEN MORE epic and Brann Dailor (the drummer) begins singing as well on that album. All of their albums are worth a listen. I love them all. Happy Listening!! 🤘🏻
I know this video is old, but I have to comment on the "sludge" part... Every Mastodon album is different as they are constantly refining their sound and some of their albums/tracks are sort of sludgy. The first few albums are faster, but they start to vary as the albums evolve. I love all eras of Mastodon, but lots of so-called "OGs" are not big fans of their later albums.

Levithan really is their best album by a lot.
absolutely
crack the skye
and i say this with my name based in that album
Leviathan is the most primal, crack the sky and after is the most emotional/feeling, Blood Mountain is the most interesting.
I think it's really a matter of preference, they had a great evolution so it's really up to taste
