    Such a great video!
    My dad has a BMW 335i with the N54, that engine is known as one of the most unreliable BMW engines ever, Well from the start we looked after that car extremely well and we also drive it extremely hard, after over 130000km there has not been a single issue at all!
    As long as you look after your BMW it will last forever!
    He also has a Toyota for work and it has been actually quite unreliable in just 2 years and it has under 100000km, and even though we do look after the Toyota well it simply is not as robust and reliable as the BMW!

      Thanks for sharing your experience! I do believe a lot of the *Unreliable* comments are just due to owner negligence.
      However I should mention that some stuff are also due to poor design, like Crankhubs on the S55, Timing Chains on the N20, Rod bearings on the S85, etc…

    No need to warm up. If you idle the engine for more than 7 seconds you're wasting fuel and more than a minute you're causing fuel to wash down to the oil pan and cause oil dilution. Also the oil pump is not spinning strong enough to pump oil as a engine with partial load.
    10-20seconds is all you need and drive with a low rev count. The lower end half of your tachometer is good. 5 minutes after warming up to operating temperature you can accelerate as fast as you want

    I bought a BMW 2016 535d with 34000 miles full BMW service history . So far in 2800 miles 02 sensor £450 , rear spring broke £ 350 , rear parking sensor loom £600 , drinking oil 400 miles a litre took back to the garage now small turbo leaking oil and play in the shaft so I'm replacing both with recon units £ 2500 hopefully the warranty will cover it . Lovely car to drive when it's not in the garage 😀

    Boss! This was an old thought since the first car was built to let the engine to warm up a bit but recently the car manufacturers themselves rubbished this thought out and claim their cars don't need any warm up period but rev it up straight away.

    some people when they drive bmw, they treat the car too much, like must send to SC la bla2….actually no need, i buy part and ask my friend to install, the spare part actually affordable, and some part installation actually can be diy- change coolant tank, coil-spark plug, etc. ❤

      I had a good experience myself with the LCI 2014 520d myself that i owned for 3 years with 180,000km on the clock.
      The 2.0 Petrol would be the N20 engine probably and I haven't had the best experience with it on my 328i if you watch my channel 😅
      Just telling you about my experience but it also really depends on the specific car and how it was maintained by the previous owner.

    Hello guys. I have a question.
    I have a 2014 Honda Civic Si full bolt-ons with 250 hp and 170 lb/ft torque and I am thinking of getting a 2015 BMW 316i because I am looking for more comfort aware that I am going to lose a lot of power.
    Do you think it is a good trade or I should keep my Civic?

    • @faizadnan9047
      @faizadnan9047 Год назад +1

      Im no bimmer old timer but most will said to buy at least 320i and above to feel real taste of bmw.

    • @AJDrives
      @AJDrives  Год назад

      The 316i has the potential to be tuned to around 200hp, depends on what you're looking for honestly. I do have a couple of tuned 316i videos on my channel if you wanna check them out!

  • @AlliKombat
    @AlliKombat Год назад +1

    BMW starting become expensive once you modify or neglect it, just like most of the cars in the market. I'm driving 2012 320i and it wasn't big of a deal to my wallet until I started to modify it but doesn't matter, I love it. 😂

    • @AJDrives
      @AJDrives  Год назад

      That's true, a lot of times modify and neglect go together with people.. 😂 That's where the real trouble begins. I've seen people who modify the car even before their basic maintenance is done!

    • @AlliKombat
      @AlliKombat Год назад

      First thing I did after getting my used car was straight away change all the old parts, making it running as good as new. You can't expect much on 10 years old car to stay in good condition like it was new @@AJDrives. After months of daily driving, I started to modify it and good lord... Performance parts and accesories aren't cheap but still gotta keep it well maintained or else it'll cost more than I wanted or expect.

    • @AJDrives
      @AJDrives  Год назад +1

      Yeap! you did the right thing 👌🏼 Make sure the car is running perfectly before going for performance mods

    Yeah bro most of time you whacked your car kaw but nvr seen you taking ur ride for remap, any reason bro?

    • @AJDrives
      @AJDrives  Год назад

      I don't see the point in doing a remap as an extra 50-60hp wouldn't really benefit me that much in the city. Just puts extra wear on an engine that's not shown me the best reliability.
