I’ve had my mini Lennox harp saw since the beginning. Great for trimming flange bolts. I completely agree with your list.
Love your videos. As a journeyman plumber myself. It motivates me to go to work and try all the tricks from your videos👍
Thanks, great to hear that ;)
Thank you. I had someone come to do work on my home as I am getting older and I can't do what I used to do. Sadly they helped themselves to some of my tools , and my cousin who was a journeyman plumber was so kind to give me some of his Plumbing tools. This person took most of those tools so you have given me additional items that I forgot I need to replace , since I live in a 1940 ranch home that is constantly needing work. I appreciate your videos they have helped me immensely when you get older sometimes you need to be reminded of the steps you need to take when doing repairs, not as sharp as I used to be😂
Thank you, don't forget to like and share 😇
Thanks for the video! I'm currently in a pre-apprenticeship program for plumbing. Really appreciate your helpful videos man!
Thanks and nice to hear buddy, have fun, those courses are a blast ;)
One tool that I recommend for any plumber now is the Milwaukee automatic cutter it cuts from 1/2"-1" copper and it saves you a lot of time.
Yes, those are awesome! Those are really good for tight spots :)
When I started I had my Douglas pump pliers,6 way screwdriver, needle nose pliers, victorinox pocket knife I'm a service plumber
AMAZING! Great help for the new plumbers out there 👏🏻👏🏻🔨🔧👌🏻
Thanks a lot :)
I accumulated all these early in my life. I still have many of the original tools I bought in the 1970's. I'd add a basin wrench for getting to nuts under the sink and other similar places.
Yeah, tools could stay with you for a long time if you buy good quality ones ;)
I love my Milwaukee electrician's folding utility knife because I can open it with one hand.
Excellent point. It's an essential tool.
Excellent video. Just a point about the cutter blade. Often the end of the cutter will have a slot to assist in snapping off the blade. It's much safer than the method that you adopted (where the blade piece could fly off and hit someone). Also I never recommend that someone cuts toward their stomach - too much risk of a slippage and...well, you know. Minor points to a video that I would show to anyone just starting out!
When I started plumbing in 1985 all you needed was a pair of work boots, tape measure, and channel locks because most of the time was spent working a shovel digging trenches!
I love this channel. I'm a starting apprentice plumber.. I might do steam fitting though
Steam is nice, thanks for the compliment ;)
As usual, very good video aimed at you primarily target level. As a teenager I played the role of a plumber’s helper. They call that position these days “plumber’s apprentice”. I never finished that training and ended up joining the military. The knowledge I gained from those years as a plumber’s helper as benefited me many times over the years. I’ll do my own plumbing chores and when required by city ordinance, I’ll hire a plumber to review and sign off on the job. As I said your video are good and I sure many appreciate what you are doing, well djj ok me!
Sorry for the misspellings, I should have reviewed it before hitting the send button!
It's ok, thank you very much Pan Tex :)
Cool video my friend. Always looking forward to the next one 👍
Thanks man! Should be out soon ;)
I had a semi emergency with a shut off valve that needed to be replaced to get the water turned back on. Mr. Khan was very responsive and honest about if he would be able to get to my house to do the job as he was already engaged. He kept in touch and was able to come in the evening and fix the valve. He replaced the valve in about 10 minutes, and was a huge help. Would definitely recommend.
Good list of tools. Ive been plumbing for 10 years. I agree with your choices
;)
Got2Learn id just add a basin wrench and allen key set soon
Yes, those are a must as well ;)
I still use a plumb,a mason line, basic set of chisels, hacksaw, handsaw,.It all depends your specific job.I know plumbers, who are salesmen for big companies,so this differ vastly.
dont forget a nice turbo torch and pex cutters/crimpers
Thanks for informative video
Thanks alot ! I start my apprenticeship in 2 weeks! Super excited.
Awesome, make sure to watch my other videos, they are very helpful!
@@Got2Learn I'm watching every single one!! Thanks alot my man
Good, thanks!
Great job!! keep up the good work...
Really appreciate that, thanks!
I started plumbing 7 weeks ago and a tool that I am glad I have is a small set of auto wrenches. They are really handy when I am installing toilets or anything else with a nut.
They sure are, I love em'!!
Great video, I'm so glad you mentioned a permanent marker (sharpie) good job.
Thanks ;)
Got2Learn by the way I just subscribed. Will be asking my employees to subscribe also..
I love hearing that! I have so many videos coming up ;)
You should add the #15 tubing cutter as well.
I lost mine grrrr....:(
Great video. Very helpful.
Thank you very much!!
I am interested in plumbing and alterations design
As a new apprentice this is invaluable, thanks!

Channel Locks are the best. Hands down. Also. Code Blue crescent wrench. Must have.

@@Got2Learn
Can we discuss more on WhatsApp and see how you could support my channel
Hi do you have any tip how can Learn nyc plumbing code? And how prepare for the plumber helper test tanks
In the video it sounded like you said 8 oz hammer. It's a 16oz hammer, right?
Great video mate!!! Can you link the utility belt that your using to hold your wrench and razor please?
I will when I get back home, thx buddy ;)
EDIT: Utility belt pouch has been added in the description box, thanks @Mace!!
i'm surprised you didn't mention vice grips but still a great useful list
Thx Michael, yeah I should oglf made a 20 item list instead of 10 lol
For me, I have a Stanley tape measure but I dont like it that much. Its not a Fatmax, so that could be the main factor in quality. but I love my Milwaukee tape measure.
I like it very much
GREAT video!
Glad you enjoyed it!!
Cool thanks man
😇
Hello from México tour videos are son great
🤘🤘🤘
And if you are gunna be a snobby plumber you’ll need some Knipex parallel jar channel locks. Also Also some rounded jaw nylon insert channel locks for those shiny claw foot tub installs
😆
This guy is a journeyman? I thought he was a master plumber.
I will be starting as an apprentice soon, but in commercial work on a construction site. Would you recommend any additional things for commercial work?
Yeah, watch this video right here there's 10 tools for under $25 that are worth getting: ruclips.net/video/A3mYn1IWKuY/видео.html
What is the belt pouch thing you put the wrench in at 0:47 called? Would love to buy.
This here?: amzn.to/425WRCG
@@Got2Learn Thanks!
He knows how to make a video... short and educational.
I grabbed 2 new pair of 10 inch knipex alligator pliers on sale last year. Don't know how I ever lived without them an I'm just a diy'er. All my cutters and pipe wrenches are second hand rigid. Great products.
Knipex and Channel Lock are both the best in the industry in my opinion, good to hear ;)
At 26 seconds you have a nice leather pouch. I have been trying to find one exactly like this. Where dis u get it? Thanx
Home depot! Want the link? :)
Got2Learn indeed!
Got2Learn I cannot seem to find the same one on the site, if you can find the link I would love the info. Keep the good work, I picked up a couple of your tricks that took me out of tight situations on the job site!
I tried to find it to yesterday, nada...I think the brand is Kenny's, not home right now ;)
www.rona.ca/en/utility-knife-holder (found it :))
Thank you for the video.
I'm confused because you say "A Stanley 8oz hammer" but the link on the description is a 20z hammer.
Oh thanks, i'll change it to the 8oz, sorry for that!
edit** Just checked and it seems like they don't make the 8oz versions, only 16oz and up, which is still very good, but I did change the link, thanks!
Thanks
Welcome!!
Special mention tool #11:
Pen Flashlight
Good one!
@First Last They also cost up to $1k and are costly to replace
0:58 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Edit: thanks for the information that was really helpful 😊😊😊
Thanks a lot!!!
You're most welcome and please keep on making new videos 😊😊😊
Absolutely!

I go to school at Job Corp for plumbing, any advice?
Bring a notebook, study, take notes on the job when your mentor is in the mood, think like your mentor what does he need what message does he want, can I have his channel lock ready for him, put things back where you got them, do not be on your phone or late, invest in yourself, body, and tools which are an extension of your profession when asked by your mentor.
Good advice!
Depending on who you are working with, do not be afraid to make mistakes! that's the way to learn (just make sure you have the water cut off first)
Buy a code book if they didn't issue you one...Sleep with it and learn to twist it to your advantage
Very good advice @Steven Morris
Pencil reamer because it's way faster than the reamer on cutters.
Absolutely! It's just sad how fast they are stolen or lost, at the price the cost, I just deal with the reamer on the no.20 cutter lol
Could you do a tour of your toolbox
That's what this video is all about :)
Would plumbing be good for a business?
👍
🙏🙏🙏
THE!!!
For adjustable wrench it's bahco, for pliers it's knipex
0:57 Projection? xD
Good
:)
How can i become a plumber?
WHAT!!!!!
What's a journey-men plumber
After 4 years as a plumber, a test awaits you and if you succeed, you become a journeyman!
Got2Learn I see, you become fully qualified then ?
Exactly!
From how you sound... you're from Canada right? Cause you have a slight french accent.
Yep! I am close to Montreal ;)
Got2Learn Apprentice plomber from Longueuil here! Great videos!
Nice!! I go there sometimes, nice to have close fans, cheers!
GTG except crap can the razor knife for a folding one, and you forgot the plumb bob.
Yeah, I gotta make another video ;)
@@Got2Learn Not too bad. Lot of good info for the beginner. Try traveling back in time to discuss to old, old and older stuff. The upcoming service and repair dudes might get a kick out of it.
@Steven Morris yeah and plus, that's how I was taught on the job, so it'll be a breeze for me ;)
@@Got2Learn Slay 'em with old stuff...Good times
you shouldn't use a marker on drywall the marker has a chance to bleed through the mud the tapers put on and wont be as good a finish
What is a journey man?
Hey, after 4 years of being an apprentice, you become a journeyman :)
True, forgot the exam ;)
He a plumber who be trip'n.
A real ass nigga.
What a cute baby Olfa... ; )
He's cute huh !? I have an even smaller one ;)
The most important thing is a brain. 2nd most important thing is leave your cell phone in the truck.
Haha true!
Gordo m unless your on call
How can I contact you ?
Here
These are also tools most mechanics have.
Who still uses a handsaw to cut pvc like I do?
I do, I also use ratchet cutters now ;)
I use a pull saw
Algún latino
8 oz hammer lol maybe 18 oz
mole grips. use them every day. pffftt
that has got to be the shittest adjustable spanner of all time buy a bahco
Did you ever use one?
Let's state the bleeding obvious!
Huh?
It might be obvious to you, but not to others. Apprentices are learning and do not have the benefit of your experience.
Why do they have to buy their own tools? shouldn't the company cover that?
No, you must buy them :(
qw ertyu they provide you tools when you work for a union shop. Non union buys own tools. Should only carry dogs, level, tape. Everything else company provides
man how can you call yourself a plumber when you are using polygrip where you are supposed to use pipewrench, i doubt u can screw a new pipe but you can definitely not unscrew a old 1" pipe as in your video with a polygrip.
please google "bahco pipe wrench 1410 "
Nah I am good, thanks.
@@Got2Learn You are not a real plumber you are a joke
May the jealousy be with you :)
Wtf is edc
Everyday carry.
Nice as always, but too basic, you can do better.
Like I said, it's for apprentices ;)
Yeah I got all that carap and I'm just a handyman
Bart Simpson your just a handyman for a reason your too fucking dumb to be good at anything. Keep pullin nails you fucking slug
Stay away from trades, go to college and get laid.
This dude has the worst tools I’ve ever seen
Obviously you are having a bad day, you are banned from the channel ;)
Rigid cutters & wrenches are the best nick. The rest are personal preference. I like individual screwdrivers instead of a multi. I like the Mastercraft adjustables best( 10" Mastercraft opens a little wider than a 12" Crescent or Smc or Gray etc). I also prefer the aluminum Irwin torpedo level
Good choices buddy ;)
