    Strider is by far my favorite vocation, I will be bummed out if it's not in DD2.
    Anyways Here's my build. It's mainly about attacking but with aside of exploration.
    1. Dagger skills: Mad Dash (or Hundred Kisses), Leaping Stone, and Brain Splitter
    - MD: It's just go to destinations quicker, I'm all about speed (sometimes I change it for HK for damage).
    - LS: It's good skill to fling low weight enemies into the air. But you can use this skill on grabbable or destroyable objects to get an extra boost and reach certain places you're not meant to reach in normal gameplay.
    - BS: Pure damage and works well with LS. Also if you do the skill when going down an edge or a big fall you don't take 0 damage. Just make sure to not actually press the jump button, the skill does a jump in the animation.
    2. Bow Skills: Mighty Bend, Fivefold Fury, and Fracture Dart (or Downpour Volley)
    - MB: To brind down big beast, mainly winged enemies
    - FFF: Pure Damage, works really good with Blast Arrows
    - FD or DPV: Works to do distance damage

    Min/max really stemmed from base DD before the dlc came out. The gear in BBI outshines the need to min max at all. The only time it really becomes a potentially worthwhile endeavor is hard mode, since stamina cost is increased and enemies are harder to stagger. They also deal more damage. But realistically, you only need to min/max health and stamina, and maybe some defenses too. Attack will come mostly from BBI gear and periphats.
    I'm currently debating on whether or not I wanna 100% DD before 2 comes out, but we will see. Great video!

    I use strider as my base for everything. Since the biggest chunk of your stats comes from gear you can do all 200 levels as strider for balanced stats that slightly favor offense. Useing that as a base lets you gear for any other class easily. If you are enjoying climbing try out an immolation build on magick archer

      A good defensive alternative to this is starting fighter, then level 10 to 18 as warrior, then mystic knight all the way to cap. gives exactly 5k hp which is nice for anyone who's OCD with health numbers, and only around 50 or so less strength, it does have much less stamina, but since max stamina doesn't change stamina regen, you pass the point where more stamina matters pretty quick.

  • @pixelmaster9964
    @pixelmaster9964 Год назад +4

    Armor in dragons dogma is really just cosmetic. Magic gets a lot more boosts, but I typically just find myself rocking the most solid fit I can make.
    I find 2 barbed nails to be by far the best accessories in the game, even better than skill upgrades in a lot of cases. Especially for strider, a lot of tougher enemies get a lot weaker once staggered, or their weak spots a lot more accessible.
    The faster you stagger an enemy often equates to killing them faster, sometimes even more than damage rings would provide. Doesn’t make a huge difference either way though, and more damage is better for a lot of the smaller enemies.
    I’d take an augment other than ferocity as I find myself never using the basic attacks. Autonomy going solo is an easy pick, but I’d just replace it with a QOL augment otherwise.
    Also, min/maxing is absolutely pointless. Nihil0.0 did a great video on the topic, but the gist of it is that the stamina you get from leveling classes other than the most optimal damage growth gets you much better damage in anything other than the immediate short term.
    Most of your stats are coming from weapons and augments. Full physical leveling and then playing sorcerer is still shred everything in the game, with maybe a somewhat non-negligible difference than actually leveling magic.

    • @emmpascs248
      @emmpascs248 Год назад

      Not really cosmetic in some sense because armor in dragon's dogma still give physical/magik/debilitation resistances like the endgame armor set (you would have probable grinded in BBI) give almost full immunity to debilitations/elemental damage/even knockdowns. It really just depends on you if you want to sacrifice these stats for fashion which is totally cool.

    • @SheenShots
      @SheenShots  Год назад +1

      So basically use armor as defense and fashion more than for stats. I really like the stats, tbh, because its fun to have extra bonuses, but most of them are so minimal. Only major ones are the boots and the climbing gloves. At least for this build.

    • @emmpascs248
      @emmpascs248 Год назад

      @@SheenShots I'm not really recommending armor only for fashion, armor stats can still significantly improve survivability/sometimes damage but still having the armor of your choice for fashion (but still is upgraded) can still work. I'm just saying that if you look cool in it but still has defense it would still probably work. I love the full shadow armor set because of the debilitation and knockdown resistance. It does not give damage like what you have in your build but more survivability causes more overall damage too right?

    • @pixelmaster9964
      @pixelmaster9964 Год назад

      @@SheenShots basically yeah. Stats are minimal but can be a nice bonus.
      Armor doesn’t really matter much in my experience. Even the weakest armors will provide you with enough defense when fully upgraded.
      Daimon’s big kill move are going to deal a ton of damage no matter what you got on. Maybe you’ll be able to take an extra hit or 2 from them, but I personally don’t really care for the difference.
      Debilitations are the biggest thing to look for. Skill stifling can be a real pain in the ass to avoid, and petrification is just really annoying.

    • @gotdamnjimi9758
      @gotdamnjimi9758 Год назад

      Everyone keeps mentioning this Nilhil video about min/maxing but none of y’all are taking into consideration is when building for a specific purpose you will in fact get a better build and will be more optimal in the end. Why would you get a better build because you’re wasting less stats. For instance for a strider building for attack and stamina defense will always grant you a better build then someone who doesn’t care about stats. The exact same thing applies to defensive stats if you put in enough effort you will be immortal to everything but death. In his video he chose to put the test to the extremes by going full in one class and calling it min/max . When in fact the way he built it wasn’t smart. Most min/max players would have taken that into consideration 😂. His test was hella flawed.

  • @chillax319
    @chillax319 11 месяцев назад

    That settles it. I'm doing most of my lvl ups as a Strider. I want to climb monsters and it seems like the best class to do it and stat-wise it's not going to be much of a problem to switch later to, let's say a magick archer. Plenty depends on gear and as a Strider I already will have most of the stuff also useful for Magick Archer anyway.

    • @SheenShots

    Is always carry throwblast or blast arrow
    They do good damage to spirits
    Or if want some good magic based dagger
    I suggest getting heavens key or sapfire daggers
    Heavens key is a holy imbued weapon obtainable via ur dragon via late game
    Sapfire daggers is a fire imbued weapon obtainable in BBI
    If you ask me a question which is easier to obtain
    Personally heavens key is easier
    Just bring a fuckton of blast arrow and conquerors periapt
    It might take you 2 days if you dont make much damage but its easier than going to BBI trying your luck that might take you days

      Don't worry about this too much as stats don't really need to be focused on. But you play as fighter until you reach Gran Soren. Then once fully leveled up, you play strider and you have the most strength possible. But this requires mostly playing as assassin so just mess around with each vocation and then settle on strider whenever you are ready to main it.

      i personally love playing as ranger, for me is the best class in the game, insane couverage with arrows + damage, you'll only suffer with the same enemys as a strider

    • @SheenShots
      @SheenShots  Год назад +5

      All of them are great is the issue (warrior and mage being on the lower end in my opinion.) For me magick archer is too good to pass up as you can have the advantage against any enemy. Strider is king when you want to climb enemies more often, and ranger is the ultimate bow and arrow character. But magick archer hits the sweet spot every time.

    • @SheenShots
      @SheenShots  Год назад +1

      Each of the vocations gain different stats when leveling up.
      Assassin = more strength
      Sorcerer = more magic
      Strider = more stamina
      So you would select different vocations to level up with more often so you get the most in whatever stat you want. Due to DLC weapons this is not necessary and you can feel free to play with any vocation you want at any time. Min/ maxing (getting the least of stats you don't want and most of stats you do) is only for those who want to make the most efficient builds. My build here I played with all of the vocations before reaching level 200, and still obliterated enemies with a full strength build.

      other iteration is...
      if you would go for max assassin (or highest phys dmg as possible) means.
      youll be getting the minimum amount of magic dmg (by leveling up)
      increasing your stamina to the max (ranger) would mean, youll probably get the least amount of hp by leveling up. etc

    Bro I just got into this game a couple months ago and it’s been great but the BBI RNG is ruining the experience hard. Only armor I’m missing is the oblivion hood and I’ve yet to get a single lvl 3 armor to drop any headgear. 90% leg armor and I’m really over it. I’d be less mad if it was completely random but I keep seeing online that it’s a scripted list with each new save. If that’s the case then what kid of bs list completely excludes one piece of armor but gives 8 legs in a row. Honestly the game is great but BBI is kind of trash.

    • @SheenShots
      @SheenShots  Год назад

      The RNG of BBI gear is very poorly done I agree. I have a cool video idea for the skill rings about two months ago. Still have two rings to go and can't get them. Its a bit absurd if you are trying to get all the gear.

    this what i hate about games where end game you just spam one ability over and over... like i loved this game and like playing the rogue/thief class. I like the idea of being agile and flashy with daggers and positioning mattering to maximize damage. The game turns into either a spam one ability at end game or grab and spam one button and just slash a monster to death while holding on. That is my only gripe about this game. And was hoping they would steer away from that and make it more skill full than just that again. but even seeing the trailers looks like you get the jump spin right off the bat for thief and mounting and slashing repeated seems to be same memo.. sad...

      The build is a brainsplitter build only. Considering its the striders most damaging skill, with the ring, its literally all you use. Other striders builds take on more variety, but I am telling you, there is no point in anything except Brain splitter with the ring. Its too good.

    Optimal Min/Max Setup
    1-10 Mage
    10-97 Assassin
    97-200 Sorcerer
    This will give you the highest split for magick and physical attack, over 3500 health, and over 4000 stamina. Your physical and magick defenses will be a bit low, but upgraded base game or end-game equipment easily solves that problem.
    For your pawn
    Fighter 1-10
    Ranger 10-73
    Warrior 73-100
    Sorcerer 100-176
    Ranger 176-199
    Strider 200
    This will give them 550 Phys and Magick attack, over 300 in defenses, and 4000 health/stamina. This is great if you want a pawn that can handle any class well.
    If you want a more strength based pawn, I recommend at least leveling up their magick attack stat to at least 300 for weapon buffing purposes.

    • @beebop7039
      @beebop7039 Год назад

      I would like to point out that while the option to min/max exists, it doesn't really matter since end game/BBI gear is so damn powerful it can make up for any deficiencies you might have and then some. That said, I do recommend the pawn leveling scheme unless you want to go all in for physical or magick damage.
      For example, if you want a pure support mage. 10 levels mage, 3 levels sorcerer, 187 levels fighter. They will have more health and physical defense than you'll know what to do with. Pair with 2 ogre bone and augments that make it harder to get staggered while casting, and you'll have a mountain of a support pawn.
      In the end, though, gear, augments and skill setup matter more than base stats. The only difference between a standard or min/maxed ranger using 10 fold and blast arrows (all gear and augments being equal) is about a 2 seconds longer kill time for the non-min/maxed ranger.
