- Tired of your handmade lego capes fraying at the edges? I've tried all sorts of things to stop the fraying but most of them discolour the material. But I've got a sealant ratio that works and doesn't show when it's dry. Also, I got a Cricut Joy which makes cutting perfect material capes so easy. The world is my oyster now! You can even adapt the capes neck holes to fit either minidolls or minifigures. It's so easy.

Omg??? I had no idea what a cricket cutter was before this so I was thinking "why are we going to all this trouble to get a template?" And then BOOM, the little auto cutty machine appears and I GET IT. That's incredible!

I have a big cricket in the small one. And I just love them. The more you play around with it, the more you will love it..I have made custom paper, carpet, furniture coverings, bedding. You name it.. love your content. So nice to know I'm not the only 40 something mom that loves Lego and heart lake.❤p

That's a great tool Ellie, i love making custom capes for my minidolls as well, especially my elves ones. Can i ask you something? Are your ever going to do a video for that custom bedroom that you've got in the backround 7:32, or the extended Autumn's house that i saw in some of your videos, because i love when you extend the houses. Also how is the unstopable fan project going?
That is some next-level noticing! I used that bedroom in one of the Creative Quest classes that are available exclusively on Lego Life. The unstoppable fan project is going really well, so many hilarious act suggestions that I’m working on. And yes! I’ve extended Autumn’s house but I haven’t furnished it, hopefully I’ll get to it soon 🤞🏻

How do you make one without a Cricut?
I'd do a practice version in paper, then trace it onto the fabric, and cut it out with an exacto knife on a cutting pad.

I use air dry clay on my mini dolls' heads for hair. One of them has blue hair.
What material is used for the cape in this video? I have a brother scan n cut (like a cricuit) and I use it to make my fairy wings! 🧚♀️ 🧚♂️
Sorry I forgot to say 😬 it’s a thin cotton, used mostly for lining dresses. I haven’t tried this technique on any knit fabric yet, that might be a challenge 😬

Okay, I absolutely have to google what the mod podge is called in my country. For me, the worst part is the cutting as I'm terrible at it, so you're avoiding it in a very clever way 😂 but at least I can do the thing with the cloth. As I always say, everyone looks better in a cape. ~Wavey ;)
You can get mod podge in a heap of countries, it’s basically just a glue kind of thing. You could use any acrylic sealer I think. What I found with it though, is that it doesn’t discolour the fabric.
