    I've had my Juki for nearly two years. Favorite machine I've ever owned, and I currently have five. You're the best, Steve.

    Hi steve, i recently bought a JUKI DU-1181N for sewing leather, but i'm not sure what kind of thread is best to use. The T70 white thread you use in this video looks great. May i know what type of thread is that, and where can i get them from? Another question is what is the thickest thread size for this machine, pls guide me, i'm new and having a hard time getting started. Thank you.

    Thank you so much! I'm learning my new 1181n! How to remove thread stuck above the bobbin. My machine is jamed

    Thank you for this demonstration. I hope it's ok to ask this here. A couple of years ago, I bought a 1541S, from a distant outfit, because I live in an industrial sewing desert. The machine arrived, I set it up and removed the piece of folded white vinyl, that apparently had been the extent of its being tested. Well, a few minutes into sewing, I changed both threads from a T90, to T135. I had been previously assured by the "salesman", that this would be no problem. A few test stitches, and the machine bound right up and froze. The "salesman" was no help. After a couple weeks of my trying to trouble shoot (probably made things worse) and being hung up on twice, by two of his mechanics, for asking very basic questions, I finally found an excellent shop, to get me sewing. After two - 2 hour plus round trips and $250, I was in business. The "salesman" subsequently changed his tune, about using the T135. After this experience, I am very gun shy about trying it again. Seeing the T135 sew well in this machine, I'm wondering... Sorry this is so long, just don't want anyone else to make the same mistake. Thanks!

      Thread jams are not uncommon with any size thread. You just have to know how to fix it. We have a few thread jam fix videos that will help. Don't b afraid of T135. Your machine can handle it.

    Hi Steve, If I want to change the thread from T35 to T60 I assume it’s the same principal? And I would also change the bobbin to T60 for better results im guessing thanks for the help!

    • @Sewinggold
      @Sewinggold  2 года назад

      Yes, same principal. You can leave T35 on the bottom, but I would change it to T70.

    Great video Steve! This shows going to a thicker thread and bigger needle. I have the DU 1181n and wondered if you can go the other direction. Thinner thread and smaller needle for sewing lighter weight materials and maybe adjusting the foot pressure. I love this machine but sure would like it if it sewed 2 layers of quality cotton fabric without puckering all up. Just thought I’d ask. I do have a very good domestic for this but wondered if there is such a machine that can do it all?

      Start by tightening the top tension (not the pre-tensioner).

    I have the 1181N and noticed the seam guide on your machine. I would like to get one for my machine. Do you sell them in your shop. If not can you tell me I can find one.

    Very helpful video, thank you. Did you adjust the bobbin tension screw because you changed to T135 thread in the bobbin as well? If keeping T70 in the bobbin & just changing the top thread to T135 would you just adjust the top tension dial? BTW, what's that little cool flip down & flip up sewing edge guide you adjusted at 1:58 minutes in on the video? Does that come standard on the Juki DU-1181N?

    • @Sewinggold
      @Sewinggold  2 года назад +1

      I changed the thread to T135 for the top and bottom.

    Can anyone tell me the difference between a tacsew GC6-6 and the GC6-28

    • @Sewinggold
      @Sewinggold  2 года назад

      GC6-6 is a top and bottom feed walking foot. The GC6-28 is just a bottom feed.
