@@smartdrivetest Hi rick, I have a question about this rule. If the light is green and you proceed through the intersection, but turns yellow are you saying that's an automatic fail? If so that wouldn't make any sense. It's safer to proceed through the light then to stop on a dime and cause a traffic collision. You can't predict when the light will go from green to yellow, so on a test the safest thing to do would be stop at every green light you see in case it turns yellow, but we both know that makes no sense.
@@revolution545No, that's not what he's saying. Basically, if the light turns yellow before you get to the intersection just stop. You don't want to risk it on the test. If you want to risk a red light on your own after the test, its on you
@@SpaghettiNachos that’s still dangerous. If you are a tenth of a millimeter from the intersection, you shouldn’t abruptly slam on your brakes. If you are close to entering the intersection, you still shouldn’t slam on your brakes. There’s tons of gray areas in driving. Do you have a specific video on how to tell the speed/distance of vehicles? Ex. If you’re turning right at an intersection, how do you determine how fast they’re going so you can turn?
While practicing yesterday I encountered a big moving truck parked on the side of the road with traffic going on the other side, so I slowed to a stop, signaled, waited until it was safe on the other side to go, checked my mirrors, looked over my shoulder, went around, looked to see if there was no one behind me with the mirror, signaled back in, looked over the shoulder to my blind spot before fully merging, and carried on. Hadn't done it before, but I had sorta treated it like I was passing in normal conditions. I had also encountered the dreaded yellow light on my left turn while I was in the intersection, and thankfully just completed it before the light turned red. If traffic had been particularly heavy, I would have waited behind the line. This time there was the added bonus of someone illegally passing me on my left when I was in the leftmost lane since they were so impatient. I'm glad I wasn't going terribly fast and I was paying attention to my mirrors because it spooked me a little, and I had to break. I had time to break because of my speed and paying attention to what was around me. Then I had to pull over for a long line of cop cars. Saw them coming, signaled over, looked to see if I could pull over safely, pulled over, waited until they all passed. Then I signaled to go back in, looked to make sure it was safe by checking mirrors, over the shoulder, merged back in to continue driving. There's also road construction. Tis the season, so I obeyed the signs and made sure to be extra cautious. Then there were jaywalkers downtown. In that section, I usually go a little slower because I know people like to walk out in front of traffic there. So, I got a 6-for-1 yesterday. XD My test is tomorrow, and I don't think I'll encounter this kind of thing again when taking it, but I'm glad I did what I was supposed to. My mom was pretty impressed at least.

Ok, here's a tough question. The light turned green. i entered the intersection on (green), and then it randomly turned yellow to red so quickly on me. Does that count as a fail?
I think every car should have a camera to record your road test I fail second test yesterday , I am pretty sure I did stuff that he failed me like turning the head and blind spots
If you missed the yellow light while in the intersection due to heavy traffic, and the light changes to red but you’re still in the intersection Can you turn left on a red light ??
If you are already in the intersection then yes you can finish your left turn because you would need to clear the path for vehicles who now have a green light. I am in Vancouver.
What to do if there is a railway crossing which is seldom used? That means it will not be closed more than often and the road maximum speed limit is 70 km/hr. Do I need to slow down to reduce the bump of the track? OR do I need to keep the speed at the maximum limit?
Left turning on intersection. if there is a car inside of the intersection in front of you in the left lane, position himself for the left turn lane, should I wait for him to complete the turn before I enter past the white line, for my left turn?
U both go at the same time, you won't hit each other as both u are going opposite sides of the intersection and because the intersection is large enough for both to pass each other

Thanks ,you are the best!

Left turning on intersection. if there is a car inside of the intersection in front of you in the left lane, position himself for the left turn lane, should I wait for him to complete the turn before I enter past the white line, for my left turn?
U both go at the same time, you won't hit each other as both u are going opposite sides of the intersection and because the intersection is large enough for both to pass each other
Great video and great tips

You cannot practice in the test area in NYS.. Neighbors complain and there’s more chance of having accidents in the test area…
I failed for simply not coming to a complete stop before changing gears.
Good stuff Rick 👏

Why I did not watch this video before my test 😏😏😏
Cyclists. I think I made someone fail their test because they almost forgot to yield to me while making a turn.
