@@EmpressReacts Tina Turner's version isn't bad, but IMO it isn't a patch on this original. I know two other versions: a disco take by Eruption, which is pretty good, and my favourite version after the original, by Lowell George.

Hi Empress. She sounds like a female Al Green probably because they were label mates on Hi Records and have the same producer and band. You called out 3 instruments, organ, bass and guitar. Fun fact: My Dad is the organ player Charles Hodges, my Uncle Leroy"Flick" Hodges is the bass player and my Uncle Mabon "Teenie" Hodges is the guitar player who wrote many hits with Al Green and others. This is the signature Hi sound that Willie Mitchell and my Dad and Uncles created. Ann Peebles was a phenomenal singer as you just heard. She actually taught me to hold my nose under water when we used to swim at her snd Uncle Don Bryant (husband) house by putting a close pin on my nose lol. Classic song. Listen to more of her stuff like Come To Mama, I'm Gonna Tear Your Playhouse Down, 99 Pounds and many more. ❤

Ann peebles was on the same label as Al Green..( Hi Records ) .Same studio...( Royal studio's) same house band ( Hi Rhythm Section) same producer ( Willie Mitchell)..Yes Tina covered it..When ever she gigs in Memphis.. She always performs, I can't stand the rain & Let's Stay Together. Sincerely..Empress I'm hip to your possum playing...Baby you know TOO MUCH ...Poppie*...
