    My unique teaching style I am friendly to my students with disabilities through open communication to them, create encouragement activities that fit their strength, I treat my students as my own child as their mother inside the classroom, and sometimes they love to play with me.

      That is beautiful. I love your sentiments of treating our students as if they are our own. Kiddos have to feel that we care about them. When we do that we create a beautiful classroom environment full of love, inspiration and empowerment.

    I love to use group discussions in my lesson delivery mostly. I give my students course outline so they prepare by reading ahead of a particular topic. In class they discuss in groups and do a presentation. It works well for my class.

    Can you do a video for early childhood education, mostly Preschool? I'm trying to pursue a career from Para to teacher and the age group is 3-5. The story-sharing and unique style are great tips.

    Avid fan here. How would you dress for success? How would you write a resume and cover letter to catch attention of the principal?
    Thanks

    • @gordonamerson28
      @gordonamerson28  9 месяцев назад +4

      Hi Eda and thank you for the support and being a part of the community.
      Dressing for success is important. When you sit with the principal or hiring panel you want to demonstrate professionalism and you want to display poise and confidence. This can be personified by our clothing options. But I will say that formal dress (full suit and jackets or very skirts and dresses) are not an expectation in my opinion. Looking professional in a business casual top with a jacket or cardigan is definitely appropriate and would be seen as professionally dressed for a teacher interview.
      Cover letters and resumes are important and there are a lot of ways to write effective examples. I actually had another community member ask the same question so I am working on some content to address that very question. Stay tuned! 😊

    If the. interview goes like this “what is one thing you dislike the most about teaching?” how to answer this that would sound congenial. but honest ? thanks

    • @gordonamerson28
      @gordonamerson28  9 месяцев назад +4

      Well there are a lot of ways to approach this but for this response I’m going to say it from an Elementary K-5th grade perspective. What I dislike the most about teaching is….some of the time constraints of teaching. In an elementary class there are some many content areas to teach but what happens when me and my scholars are truly immersed in a magical lesson where connection and learning is happening, I wish I could stay there in the moment for hours or even days because that is the best place for deep and meaningful learning to happen but the need to cover many topics inhibits us from truly exploring those moments. Theoretically, that what I dislike about teaching. That’s not a mean spirited answer. It’s congenital and lots of educators (including myself😊) wish we could make the system more optimized for the deep learning that teachers want and need for their scholars.

    In a job interviewQ for teacher “ why should we hire you? “ how would you. craft an answer. that. would quantify your achievements ? What. are the. accomplishments. that should be. highlighted with figures and the. panel is looking for ?

    • @gordonamerson28
      @gordonamerson28  9 месяцев назад +1

      Good morning Eda! Thanks again for being engaged in our community. I am trying to build a place where educators can come to be inspired and grow their profession and careers. You are certainly helping me do that so thank you. 😊
      I’ll give some quick thoughts but you gave some ideas to make a full video on so I’ll be much more comprehensive in the episodes coming in the near future.
      Why should we hire you? I would focus my answer on passion for education and passion for supporting students. Let the panel see how much you care about learning. Let the panel see who you are and what you believe about the future and the kids you will be serving. With respect to your achievements and accomplishments, just highlight things you are proud of that align with your ability to be an inspirational person for the school community and students. There truly is no right or wrong answer. There is just your unique experiences and successes that highlight this answer.
      I’m going to put some thoughts into these questions and create a longer piece of content on this. Thanks for the inspiration! ☺️

      @gordonamerson28  9 месяцев назад +4

      It’s okay to be nervous. It means that it matters to you. That’s the type of educator we want to hire! Try a little breathing exercise (4 second inhale 4 second exhale 4 times in a row.) it will help to relax you and calm you down right before entering the interview room.
      Best of luck to you. I’ll be rooting for you.
