I am preparing for an interview. I have come across your stuff. I have to converse that you are really an educator. You an excellent educator. I can't just stop reading from you.

I believe classroom management starts from outside the classroom where the teacher build a very strong teacher-student relationship, as this will help the students feel confident and motivated, inclusive and feel seen and respected.

Nothing is possible without discipline. My philosophy would be to inculcate discipline. Make set of rules that everyone should follow in the class. You are a teacher but you also follow certain rules. Keep those rules hanging on the wall throughout the year. Leaning is not possible if we don't have certain routines and procedures in the class. Today's biggest problem in the class is that: students want to exercise their "freedom" without responsibility. They come to the class with an ideology that I can talk whenever I want, I can go around whenever I want. If the teacher sets his/her expectations, students are likely to cooperate with the teacher.

To effectively communicate and supervise my employees, I would have a clear line of communication with clear instructions on how classroom walkthroughs look like. Teachers would have mentor groups where they perform instructional rounds to give peer feedback based on the same evaluation rubric they would receive when I observe for annual teacher evaluations. Also, teachers would complete surveys for direct feedback and data for my own performance review, reflection, and professional development.

This is good stuff! Thanks for sharing. #1 hit home for me. Next year, 3-year, and 5-year plans are objectively the most important skills a leader can how. Being able to speak to this, just gave my principalship process the life it needed to transition from a good principal to a great principal.

I just interviewed for several openings in a nearby district. It was definitely nerve racking. There were four principals facing me with one asking the equivalent of multifaceted essay questions. As soon as I started speaking they started typing very loudly on their laptops. Although I hit many of these points listed in the video, I think what killed me was the "Why us" question. I was honest and replied "You have openings." My district does not have any full time positions at the moment.

So nervous about my interview tomorrow. I am Not sure what kind of questions they will ask me when working in a multicultural classroom. I have a very strong behavioral background and Spanish is my first language. I feel like am going to go blank in my interview.
