    If he wasn't injured so much, he probably would have won more slams. His forehand looked like it could rip through space and time itself.

      Without the injuries he would probably be sitting around double digit slams. He was literally a couple of tournaments away from being number 1 before the first injury. He was crushing Nadal and Djokovic and giving Fed a solid run for his money. Delphi is the biggest what if in the history of tennis. So sad.

    Loved that forehand... one of the best ever... world class forehand. Shame he got injured so much... woulda had at least 4-5 Slams

    These tennis court surfaces were invented 30-35 years ago. They take a big toll on tall guys like delpo and some others. Size does matter in tennis, players around 5’11” to 6’4” have the most advantage bc they’re not too short and they’re not too high.
    Delpo is a legend tho.

    Del Potro is the only one of two who can consistently hit past the great Wall of Serbia. The other being Wawrinka. But Delpo forehand cannon power is ridiculous.

    He was one of the best. Unfortunately he had many injuries which screwed up his career.

    Delpo gave a lot of work to a lot of people, including the big 3, when he had that sharp right from the back of the court, he punished anyone, he distributed the game very well with very powerful and often accurate blows too, great Delpo, he has my respect!

      @@seltaeb3302 you're right, it would be an injustice not to recognize Andy's merits, he had a brilliant and successful career even though he was "unfortunate" to play at the same time as Roger, Rafa and Nole, and between us, for everything he did for the sport, I think he deserved to have won more than he did.

    Without injuries he could easily have prevented one or more of the big three from being at 20/21 right now. He was on course to threaten them before several injury setbacks and especially raised his game during big matches in the majors.

    If he had not been injured half of his career. He would have won 3 to 5 slams and several masters. Unlike overhyped next gen( Sinner and Alcaraz are exceptions) , DelPo was a real deal
