    • @heliophoner

Part of that is Hurts being able to account for extra rushers and simplifying assignments.
And even then, other tape chewers like JT O'Sullivan have pointed out that the vaunted O-line blew some protections. Jason Kelce even admitted that he called the wrong protection on Hurts' fumble.
There's no doubt Hurts' line and receivers make him better, but he makes them better as well.

This is encouraging because Hurts' biggest issue has been zone blitzing. He kills man blitzes because of his deep balls and trust in AJ/Smith, which was pointed out in the vid.
He's done a really good job, thus far, of improving his weaknesses within a few weeks of them being highlighted. That bodes well for him continuing to play at a high level.

First of all, congrats Brett for being on the NFL RUclips channel, I follow you for a long time and this kind of vids is what a lot more people will come to love you for.
Second, I am biased as an Eagles fan, but I gotta say....man, this SB hurts. No pun intended.
I have never seen a better roster, in the whoel NFL, than what the Eagles had this year. (I wasn't following NFL in '08 to see the Pats).
I would just love one of two things:
Either a rematch on a better turf, where our Dline can actually pressure Mahomes. Albeit the KC line could probably also make it a lot tougher on Hurts as well, but if one side has a clear advantage in a particular part of a game and you negate that part of a game by an outside intervention, it's not the same for both teams...
That, or see a "best of three" :)
I still can't get around the inability of the Eagles defense, which had total studs EVERYWHERE outside of Epps, to stay consistent! Throught the whole year, and in particular in the SB. I guess we will just never have a truly shutdown defense in Philly...
Either way it was just one of those games, in football they call it "whoever has the ball last wins". Like the Chiefs-Bills PO game last year, like Chief-Pats in 2018 (I think) AFC Championship, like the 28-3 SB, like the Pats-Seahawks SB....//sidenote: 3 of those games ended with a "cointoss=win" overtime. I am so glad they changed that rule!//

Common Brett, Hurts FAILED by losing a critical fumble and ultimately the game as they lost by one score. Brady torched Spags with the Bucs in Super Bowl 55 with a similar scheme when "roughing the passer" penalties now exist. Also, Brady torched the Seahawks Legion of Boom in THAT SAME BUILDING in Super Bowl XLIX. Plus, you have too many errors like showing Skyy Moore while speaking of the "tenacity of Isiah Pacheco." Again, several of those hits on Brady from the Giants front four are considered "roughing the passer" with a MINIMUM of 15 yard penalties each, if not unsportsman-like hits, etc., possibly leading to ejection. Know your facts!

Looking at this. Its what the Bucs did to the Raiders in 2002 and Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in 2020.
2 High~4 High with the dudes up front EATING, dialing up pressure and having a strong bead on what a team would want to do (especially in 2002, Callahan didn't change playbooks or style post-Gruden)

It's funny watching these highlights from games that weren't all THAT long ago and notice just how much harder defenses were allowed to hit the QBs. And even then the rules were stricter than the 90s and decades prior.

Oh man… I’m happy for you making this video, and I understand the comparison of schemes, but the quality difference between the 07 NYG DL vs 22 KC DL makes the comparison irrelevant… same for the 07 NE OL vs 22 PHI OL…

      Rankings per PFF:
07 NE OL (LT, LG, C, RG, RT)
      46, 53, 34, 10, 19
      22 PHI OL
      37, 14, 3, 15, 2
07 NYG DL (RE, DT, DT, LE)
      6, 29, 58, 19
      22 KC DL
      90, 1, 135, 117

To say today’s Q.B,s are better than Q.B,s from past era,s or Recieivers are better than Receivers before them for that matter is not a fair comparison . With the rules changing year to year to protect the health of the Q.B,s and Receivers it is taking the fear of having to take the big hit out of the game more and more. If your saying today’s Q.B,s are more suited at playing today’s game then you would be correct. Because today’s game is a totally different game then what it used to be.Fear is a very motivating factor in ones decision making.
