  • This video was made in 1982 and filmed in a well known late-night haunt, a West Indian cafe called "Noel's Cafe." The 2 people who are knocking on the door to complain are actually a friend of Jerry's mum, and Ken who ran the General Wolf, a live music pub up the road. The participants were regulars at the cafe who wouldn't leave their space-invader games even though a band and full film crew invaded them. We also bought along a group of friends who were the dancers as well as being regulars on the Coventry music scene. I devised the script with Steve Binnion, and co-directed with the infamous Barney Bubbles. I only have this old VHS copy. I have no idea where the original film is. Fond memories.

Every time I watch this video, it makes me smile. Used to hang out at Noel's on Station Street West in those days, with my cousin George and friend, Stevie Mac (RIP), playing pinball on the Kiss machine, listening to Noel's reggae tapes, and generally chewing the cud. The majority of the "clientele" featured in the video along with George and Steve, are cheeky local kids from Foxford School. Big up Stephen Dias, Patrick Ramsey, Tony and Paulette Simms, Stephen Cumberbatch, Ken and Cliffy Willis, brothers Michael and Owen and many others too numerous to mention. Happy days.

Ah man..I've loved this tune since first hearing it on a Specials triple album I bought called 'A's B's and Rarities' but I've only recently found this absolute gem of an eighties music video! 😎

ruclips.net/video/aenVI6DqUjo/видео.htmlsi=5zoKOt5BqNL4pEnA i recognise your vibe because it feels like Coventry in 1980 when it was all going down. Here’s a little video I made with some friends and some musicians you might recognise.
