The lack of face and no music at the beginning makes this feel like a 2015 video and I mean that in a good way
Mage getting volley maul. Mage going face. Odd face mage. What deck are you gonna make in perils in paradise?
what I'm worried about is priest getting beasts and secret. Although with only 40 cards it's just one secret? Easy to guess.
lackluster colour splashes, Lichking getting shaman cards, Thrall getting demon hunter cards(they're siblings right wait is demon hunter and malfulrion).
You know the eleven classes can be cut down to 3 classes mage board clear and burn. Warrior board clears and weapons. Finally Hunter beast and weapons.(No spells that go face). See eleven classes down to 3 classes. No healing and no Card draw.
Being 100% sincere, no cap or anything, you're my favorite HS Content Creator after Trump stopped. The effort you put into your videos really shines through and I find them super entertaining.
The only other creators I watch these days are Roffle and Mark, and I like them a lot, just not as much as your content ^^
0:05 in, I'm infuriated we didn't get a "Wake up honey" >:(
09:20 I recently found a relatively new HS creator actually. He's called "Flare" and while it seems like he's been making HS content for about a year he appeared in my recommended recently with power points on different HS expansions and archetypes which he started making about a month ago. Pretty fun content ngl.
Second Flare, they are amazing!
Flare lowkey the best hs RUclipsr to put on when u got a limited lunch break
Hes sick, i really like the vids where he talks about a certain set of legendaries
i found him about 2 weeks ago, immediately subbed after watching some of his powerpoint about.. videos
I honestly love the twist format. Being relatively able to compete against any other deck by just having a single card is great.
If Rarran doesn’t have a date night with his significant other he’ll often put a few slices of onion on his lunch sandwich since he won’t need to worry about having a stank mouth.
what the fuck did I just read
Honestly my favorite HS content creator atm is you. All the challenges against Eddy/Ecore/Roffle and just the variety of different HS content has been very enjoyable to watch. I feel that most of the HS creators I watch either don't post anymore (Trump, Firebat) or post rarely (Savjz, Allie), so just seeing how your content has evolved into what it is today has made you one of my favourite content creators (period, not just in Hearthstone). Sorry to hear your not enjoying the game as much, but considering how many thousands of hours you have put into it, it probably is inevitable. Keep up the good work and much love from Finland
9:20 chumphs is goated
I’m a huge Gwent player. It’s unfortunate that game slowly died, it was really good for a standalone card game.
I absolutely loved gwent when I played it but the most I played was before the major rework of the board. I loved playing nekker monster back then lol
It is hard to launch a live service game because there can only be so much live games, cuz it competes against the player time
You can try deathless tales of old rus, which kinda appeared outta nowhere, but the artstyle and music is gorgeous. Early access, with 4 playable heroes down the line. The differences from sts are you dont need to fight boss if you dont want, but it gives full heal and good rewards, you pick out of 3 options to fight and you can kinda gleam the enemies from the text preview, killed enemies stay to rot, but have some interactions and can block enemies from attacking you or you from attacking other enemies, and there is melee and ranged attacks with some enemies being unable to hit you while at the backline. Strongly recommend because it is still under the radar of other big names, so you can be the pioneer )
Really enjoyed the commentary on this video. Idk if the no cam had something to do with that, but it's almost like losing one element enhances the other 2
You asked about card games and as someone who genuinly loves ccgs I got some suggestions and thoughts. First when it comes to digital card games coming out, I personally think they come out with enough regularity, but it's one of those genres that is kind of looked down upon in the wider gaming sphere. At least that's how I see it. I think when it comes to like finding your footing when it comes to ccgs I think it's not easy but also not as hard as you may think. I've seen a lot of them being able to find communities big enough to mostly survive but often that's actually the more indie ones. I think while the big 3 digical card games can be an issue for new games I don't think it's as bad as saying being a battle royal and having to go up against fortnite. Mostly because each big 3 has issues that a lot of people don't like. Arena's monetization, Yu-Gi-OH being a bitch to get into and Hearthstone in general is kind disliked in the wider community as being kind of unbalanced and too rng focused.
I've said a lot but I am going to suggest 3 digital card games 1 single player 2 multiplayer.
Card Dungeon is the single player one, Personally it's my favorite of all single player digital card games. It doesn't look the best but mechanically I think it's really strong. Does something very unique when compared to other rogue like card games.
Warpforge is a 40k based card game. It's quite recent only like a year old. Plays quite similar to hearthstone with some difference. I like it personally. The monetization isn't the greatest I will be honest though.
Now the wild card choice is Artefact Foundry (Not classic) You have played classic and didn't like it. Foundry kind of fixes some of the issues you had with classic. Takes away a lot of the rng. Now honestly I think out of all the choices I've given you I think this would be the most successful video. Your video on artefact classic was already did pretty well I think so you know maybe you will be able to repeat said success.
I know this was a long comment but you know I felt I should give options. I had some other options that I wanted to give but I felt I should leave it at three. I also wanted to say I am not a big hearthstone guy, I watch you for you, and in my opinion some of your best videos are the ones where you are not playing Hearthstone, but no matter what you do I will still watch.
The One Pieve card game has been going crazy in real life
9:20 definitely feel similar here, one of my favorites now adays is MarkMcKz, he strikes a good balance of familiarity while keeping it fresh, and always explains the deck in the intro which i like since im not always familiar with every card
You were talking about cards games and something I would really recommend is Friends vs. Friends. It is a combination of a card game and a fps shooter hahaha
I am sorry you've not been vibing lately with HS. I love your videos and I am so thankful I get to watch you almost every day. You bring me a lot of joy playing a card game.
The stream with Farfa coaching you was really fun, I personally would love another coaching vid
I kinda noticed you can use E.T.C to snuggle in minions that aren't even cost. I don't know if this is intentional, but having access to more cards is quite nice.
Favorite Hearthstone content creator atm is probably Martian Buu
I loved watching you get coached in Slay the Spire so I imagine I'd also love to watch you get coached in Hearthstone too. You make really entertaining dynamics with whoever is teaching you, so I think it absolutely would be interesting
Speaking about your challenge "free to play" , the pb when you said "I only have 1 paladin deck and I have only that" is the pb of every new player. I came back on this game few months ago, and YES, the first month of game, you can only play 1 deck and that it...after that you are farming the battle pass every day with mission and you can finally have a second deck
My first paper card game I got into was One Piece card game, OPTCG! It felt relatively easy to learn and has some good depth to it. came out alittle over a year ago, and it’s been fun to play and get into. Minus the Stock issues they’ve been having and what not
What's in the band in ETC?
As someone who doesn't enjoy mindlessly grinding ranked (in any game, really), I recently found a playgroup to play MTG Commander with irl.
Been incredibly fun, we're doing game nights once a week and now I already own 6 decks I built myself ^^
Can very much recommend
I'm definitely a fan of this twist format, basically haven't played standard at all since it came out. It's kind of streamlined after a while but it's fun for a few games a day which I feel is the point of the game anyways
The new pokemon sets have been really good and the card game is probably in one of the best metas in a long time. I have been playing since last November. I think your video may have inspired me to start playing it. Pretty huge deck variety and a lot of very interesting tech cards. There have been quite a few paper card games coming out recently.
I built odd reno unholy + double blood deathknight and odd reno paladin and I'm loving them both even though I'm not sure how good they are since I'm losing even cards in 2 and 4 slots that really do matter.
I loved the Adventure time card game but they removed it from the app store a long time ago :c
A few recentish card games are like Wildfrost, cobalt core and nowhere prophet, generally Nowhere prophet is very similar to hearthstone in a way. Its mostly board focused RPG card game with prema death to minions, its also quite tough its a bit like what if Hearthstone meh Darkest dungeon but its really fun
9:20 Roffle, always entertaining decks and smart plays
I played zed zillions, really fun game, it is like slay the spire in terms of a card game rouge like but other than that, its own mechanics and gameplay most def makes it stand out
Besides you, my favorite HS creator ever was GrosGhiles, his edits were so high quality and fun they made me get into the game back then
I have been really getting into a pretty neiche card game called cards and castles two. Its got a lot of fun mechanics and it uses a grid based board which I dont see a lot of games doing
When it comes to hearthstone content creation, you and Roffle are the only ones I really watch anymore, keep up the good content!!
I hope this comment wont be taken down, because I do really wanna respond to the questions you have for your audience. I used to watch Thijs a lot, but, Ill be honest, youre pretty much the only consistent hearthstone creator I enjoy nowadays. Trump, Regis and you will always be my favorites, unless someone comes along with the personality and story telling ability that you three have. A lot of the content I watch revolves around this story telling aspect. HelloFutureMe, Natural World Facts and Adam Regusia - which are all extremely different content creators - all employ the strategy of spinning an idea into a greater whole, a tale. You do that extremely well, to the point where Im reminded of the League historian guy whose name I cant pinpoint in my mind right now. I think you are sorta held back by hearthstone and, to a degree, card games in general; and I think one way to get out of this bubble is to do something so immensily different that it almost resembles nothing youve done before (in terms of subject, not style). Something that boosts your ability as a speaker and entertainer, something that puts the style of content youre amazing at into the spotlight. Maybe Elden Ring? Then again, Im not a content creator. I just know that I really like how you turn this game into something really amazing. I just wanna keep listening to what you have to say. The three things I love most about your videos: your ability to change the subject into a story, your ability to bring people in and synergize with them, and most importantly your willingness to analyze and think your actions through. I cant tell you how many times I went "Huh... thats some really good reasoning!" while watch your stuff. Keep making great content, Rarran. Ill probably watch it even if I find the topic uninteresting.
I love the theme for this expansion, I’m a massive Jimmy Buffett fan, and I can’t wait to see what kind of references they can sneak in there
My favourite card game is krosmaga by ankama (french developers) its cool
Second favourite is elder scrolls legends
Fav hearthstone creators in order firebat, toast, Rarran
I'm actually working on my own card game, its still very early in the development phase but I have a goal and im trying to see it through.
I still love legends of runeterra, for PvP and PvE, but I don't know how long it's gonna survive. It was a perfect in between the fun you can have hearthstone and the interact part of mtg
zet zillions is def worth it if you appreciate the aesthetic and are looking for something slay the spire-ish! i really enjoyed it while i played but i didnt stick with it for super long
Digimon tcg just had a quality fan sim released if you're interested. If I heard right, Shadowverse is getting an entirely new app, so maybe wait for that?
I am playing Balatro, Slay the Spire and War of Omens lately since I mentioned it to you
Mark actually got me back into the game after years away. I used to watch reynad and forsen.
I got a card game recently called poker quest. It’s a mix of slay the spire and balontro so may be worth a look.
Card game recommendation: night of the full moon. It’s pretty good, only other one beside hearthstone I’ve really gotten into. It’s single player, has a pvp battlegrounds gamemode which is really good, but the pvp is only available in China. It does have a pve version of the autobattler which I quite enjoy alongside the main game
Rarran, I have been playing a card game called Hellcard. It is like multiplayer slay the spire. I have been dying to see you play it with a couple of your content creator pals.
I actually played Zet Zillion and its kinda fun ? Doesnt have the adictivity potential of slay thé spire but some idea of it are really cool. Maybe backpack hero has more potential for videos and all ?
I've been playing lots of Flesh and Blood, it's super fun
I sometimes watch regis when he does the off meta decks with fun interactions since those are the style decks i enjoy trying out. Currently the only video game card game i play other than hearthstone is inscription. Used to love minion masters though
really liked card and castles 2, but it needs some more cards and consistent balance patching to get to a healthy state.
But board centric card games tend to be my favorite, play a card then use a 2D board space to play the game (if anyone has similar recommendations, would love to hear them)
You should try Across the Obelisk. It's a roguelite deck builder. It has a lot of re-playabillity and it's really good.
You need to try Wildfrost! It's a really polished Solo Rougelike Card Game but really challenging. I think you would like it!
You should really try playing library of ruina. Super fun card game, I'm not at all biased by having nearly 2.4k hours in it by now but seriously the core gameplay mechanics can keep it fun for that long which is really saying something since it's singleplayer.
Long shot but maybe playing neon white would be cool?! And speed run for the heck of it lol
Yet again i suggest vault of the void as a card game you could try. Its relatively similar to slay the spire but a little different. I thought it was good at least
I just started playing Marvel Snap. Its also really good, would love for you to do collab content with Snap players, you guessing power lvl of snap cards
For Hearthstone gameplay i usually go to Mark for his crazy combo stuff but pretty everything else hearthstone related I go to you so I guess it's Mark followed closely by you? Love the stuff like DYKH, the only use X cards with Eddy/Roffle/whoever else and especially the collabs with other TCG players and how well you guys can gauge the power of each other's cards!
Hmm, card games. "Yi Xian" is a cool game you might be interested in. More autobattler than traditional card game, but still fun and interesting. LoR is doing surprisingly well still, and Marvel Snap is in a great place right now (both monetization and meta hugely improved). And I'd love to see some more Monster Train; that game ramps up in difficulty really well.
Speaking of new card games, the One Piece TCG has been making waves since last year. It doesn't have a dedicated digital client but there is a community app that works very well. If you're looking for something new, the game is dope.
I play some of the small, indie card pvp games like undercards or card and castles 2, but there’s just not enough players.
Balatro is a single player poker rougelike card game. You play poker hands and do big combos for big dopamine hits
I play a lot of paper magic. I also am playing twist
So there’s 2 card games rn that are growing, Lorcana and One Piece. Wouldn’t be surprised if Rarran did either in the coming months
Doublelift is starting a series on interviews with old school league pros to see what they are up to today. You could try something similar for HS
You can try the DIgimon tcg, we have Project Drasil for some time but now we have DCGO which is incredible, its a fan made automated simulator.
I don’t usually like warlock, so maybe I’ll try it again
Marvel Snap is another game in decent popularity and the ads for it show up in the YT algorithm so I guess it ain’t dead yet.
Personally, I think the Pokemon TCG is the healthiest of the Big 3 Cards games.
As for favorite streamer for HS, it’s gotta go to Dane. He plays such quirky things and makes them work for both wild and standard. Also, big fan of European accents.
9:20
Roffle
you should try wildfrost if you are looking for a slay the spire type game with a nice twist on the genre
My fave content creator as of this moment is Thjis and MarkMckz. I really enjoy the deck highlights that they do and how they innovate decks
Favorite content creator right now is Martianbuu. Kind of has that chill streaming clips and I like his insight. Too bad hearthstones currently just the waiting room for the new expansion so not much content
I mean, as the Head Artist for Undercards, I've been paying that as well as the new Undertale Yellow crossover.
No deck code on this so gotta ask, whats in the etc?
If you wanna try other card games I really suggest Dawncaster. It's a deck building RPG and super immersive :). Love the content Bro, as always
the twist format coaxed me to reinstall considering i only needed the legendaries to play the decks and i have most
weird to see video without your face XD
You should give Flesh and Blood a try! It's one of my favorite TCG's of all-time, the game design is pretty unique and the mechanics make the game feel so rewarding to play. I think there's an unofficial digital client, sorta like Lorcana's former Pixelborn, would definitely be worth a shot!
I been mostly playing slay the spire and cross trigger
Idk if twist has been a success overall, but if anyone was like me, which I figure is the case, they stopped playing after queueing into literally nothing but Arfus for the first week
I would really love to see you playing Inscryption
It's a must play game imo
At least give it a chance
did he not play that a couple years ago when it came out ?
A good card game which sadly doesnt have an online mode even thought I enjoy the concept really much is Inscryption which i also think you could enjoy. it has a story so maybe you could try it and make a couple videos on it. Just a suggestion
Most card games these days play it far more safe, with single player as a the focus rather than multiplayer. Right now on my focus is a game called Cross Blitz that pretty much plays like Hearthstone. But your either playing the campaign or you play the roguelike version of the game. No multiplayer, though
card game i was really into was pvz heroes came across it ard the KOTFT era always loved the pvz franchise but the flavor and unique attack mechanics really stand out even today too bad its mobile only and made with that in mind because the flavor personality and humor of each and every card even pack fillers can match with hearthstone
Shadowverse is going to release a new game, i guess you could check that out
reynads game will come out this year, that might shake up the cardgame space, though it is more auto battler than an actual cardgame
I'm still playing hearthstone and marvel snap. It's fun.
Well just checked and seems it's dead haha but some years ago there was "hex shard of fate" that was a new card game which was pretty interesting from what I remember but I also remember that to get cards you needed to pay for pack there weren't really free ones
Bloons card storm is coming out in an indeterminate future. I'm exited to play it, after seeing videos from RUclipsrs playing beta.
You are the only hearthstone creator I watch. So I can only choose you as my favourite :P
Rarran, do what makes you happy. I mean this for every challenge too. Break your own rule? Who cares. If it ends up limiting your fun, change it. Same goes for making content and stuff. If you don’t enjoy it, why do it?
Even Warlock is so fun
Probably one of the most fun decks of all time
This gives me old Noxious video vibes hell yeah
9:40 trump :( ive started watching you after he stopped making vids because i remember you guys playing together. would love to see a duo return!
I would check out Infinity Wars its free and u get all the cards.
If I cant say you as my favourite content creator for Hearthstone, it would have to be Allie, just because of the chill vibes and interesting decks, however she doesnt upload as frequently sadly, and I cant watch streams
Would love to see you cook in Library of Ruina.
I've been playing Doomlings with my friends, but it's not an online card game.
Been having tonnes of fun with faeria. It's the board-centric game that hearthstone should've been.
