Think about how upfront in the mix this is, minimal gain, minimal effects, just tone, fingers, picking hand and flawless technique. This is another level.
His tone at times reminded of Allan Holdsworths distortion tone. So sick.
I wish Tom would release an album called "Only I can play this"
You get another like 4 years later LOL
I need help. I cannot stop watching this. Is anyone interested in starting a mutual aid rehab support group?
I never get bored of this tune. I’m still practising the changes, in the hopes that I’ll be able to create something that sounds better an infant who fell on a xylophone. Until then, I’ll just listen to guys like you play.
Tom never watch the neck Quayle
Rayer Scarpensael he doesn't need to watch it, to see it
Part of the reason why he uses all 4ths tuning eh?
Love it. Can hear some Holds worth and Dunnery in there. I have one of those amps. Cheers.
From Holdsworth to Gambale going through Greg Howe, stunning piece without a doubt,
Was listening to Allan Holdsworth's version a few minutes before seeing this video!
Nice version and out of this world playing from Mr Quayle!
Well played Tom however all the countless hours And practice becoming a master of guitar has made you look so fed up, blow minds dude enjoy your gift
And to echo others here, sad that whilst this has 15K views, the Holdsworth version here on YT (albeit not a live video) only has 926 views.
If you liked this, go check it out...just search on Holdsworth Inner urge....
That is crazy! He will never be equalled. A true genius.
@@tomquayleguitar Listening to that, at the start, i almost did a double take. I thought for a second or two it was a sax, at the start. Then realised. Of course, the story goes he actually wanted to be a sax player, but ended up on guitar.
But the takeaway is the musical mind behind the notes. I listen to him, and strain to hear the "logic" behind what notes he picks out. I know it's there, but it defeats me. I listen to almost any other guitarist, and i CAN hear the logic. I just can't play it!
Now to find some Coltrane for a sunny Sunday morning....
PS keep up the great work, Tom.
Just when I thought Guthrie Govan was the best....I hear this guy.
Epic as per Mr Quayle!
Awesome as usual!
I want this backing track!!
great chops, he doesn't seem very into what he's playing though
Top class Tom, incredible playing. I like when your eyes close and go into Samurai mode. Classic.
Hate each and every note of it, hate fusion music, hate this style of music. But damn ! Tom is ridiculously good ! Outstanding. On another level. Hats off !
Man... been playing guitar for 10 years now.... you’re my inspiration now
Tom Quayle is a nice guy. I really like how nicely he speaks. None of that exaggerated "enthusiasm" that so many other guitar people do, and he's a great player too!
Very nice coincidentally on the day I have to transcribe blue bossa. JH is great
Awesomness!!! I hate shredders but Tom is so much more than that. They are often precise with no feeling. I could watch and listen to Tom all day. He makes it look easy but very listenable.
That's because Tom is not a "shredder" in the same way that Holdsworth, Govan are not shredders. They know and understand the musical structures, and can play whatever their inspiration wants to play. That they can play blindingly fast is not the point. That's the difference.
accidentally had my speed on 1.5
That was an awesome accident
Now I need the gold AZ and a Laney!! Incredible playing and tone and great song choice too
hypnotized buy magic fingers again :)
You are one of the best, but I prefer the previous signatura...
Tom never fails to astound me, just incredible!
never mind how hard this is to play how do you figure it out ? awesome
UNICORN. I WISH I COULD PLAY LIKE YOU. THREE YEARS IN, I JUST KEEP PRACTICING AND SHOWING UP. THANK YOU. JPH
he doesn’t even look at the fingerboard
27k views ? Unfair
Someone disliked this... I guess figure skating judges also subscribe to guitar channels.
Tom is my favorite Quayle
Wanna some day ,take lessons with you Tom. Your playing is absolutely incredible.

A spectacular solo... Following the diminished patterns... Love it 👍🤘
Great playing indeed, didn't hear any diminished patterns though
Where are the diminished patterns????
How come he plays such hard lines without seeing the neck? You are definitely alien Tom!

so nice...
The amazing Tom Quayle!
Muito show ! Tom Quayle e top !
hopefully there is this little moment and look at the tech team at 0:53, and make us be sure that Tom is real! He is just on another level, planet, so incredible...not enough superlative
Jacky Vincent said you were good. He was wrong, you are great. Lmao
Your combination of tone and technique is purely magical sounding !
😍 O melhor ♥
Respect...that's dedication 👏
Feakin' Massive! I'd be curious how you would arrange Giant Steps?
I have an arrangement of Giant Steps that I played years ago for my final recital during my jazz degree. Interesting reharmonisation. I should do a video about it.
This piece is superior! Really good listen!
Awesone! Congratulations frontal Brazil!
Beautiful phrasing!
Absolutely fantastic
Stunning, top of the tree stuff, amazing
Get him a doctor this man is SICK

Always incredible!
Holdsworth!
inner urge!
Awesome
Amazing, 👏👏👏
Great !
SICK!!!
Top top!
Magical!
I noticed that you're using Laney amps, wouuld you recommend them to a Marshall guy?
If any lesson is to be taken from this, it's that the fingers and the player that's important. He would be as awesome if he were playing through a Marshall, a Fender, A Boss Katana (!) you name it. Brands don't count, the player does. Literally!
Amps do not make up for lack of talent.
You are a beast!
Awesome Tom!
enjoyed!
Hell to the yeah!
🙌🙌🙌👏👏👏✌️✌️
Fabulous..
I enjoy watching an amazing guitarist with great technique.
He took on an iconic jazz standard, , fantastic
