We used to load shotgun and we had that same loader and we loaded thousands of rounds thru it. Buy a new one they are only around 60-80 bucks.......Haven't loaded in years but that thing worked great! Good luck man.

I started out with a Lee 12ga loader, which worked OK, but always seemed a little rickety. I then saw a deal on Craigslist for two used MEC 600jr loaders (12 & 20) for $200. When I went to pick them up, I found out that the sale also included shot, powder, primers, wads & shells (he was getting out of reloading). Ebay is another good place to look for used MEC loaders. I've never had to pay more that ~$100 for a used MEC 600jr on ebay. I recently bought two more ratty looking MEC 600jrs & converted them to 410 & 28ga with used parts from ebay.

@@jesseboutdoorsreloading Hello Jesse, I was looking at ebay this morning & saw an add for a MEC 600jr 12ga for $75 obo. The seller is grainjim-1.

No need to put any more pressure on the wad than necessary to seat it on the powder. When sliding over for shot, pause, or because you're not doing the powder, slide the shot back after you dump. Idea is to let the shot settle in the bushing while you're doing the other operations.
Have a couple of Load-Alls, 1970's Mec 600, various other Mecs, and an old Pacific.
    Good content, thanks bud.

yucon4545 is giving good advice…activate the shot charge slide a little slower to allow the charge to fully drop as shot is prone to “bridge” in the charge weight tube…I loaded thousands of 12 gauge Cowboy Action loads on the Lee and they can be a little bit finicky on shot drop when you try to load at speed…I bought an older, but well maintained, MEC 600 Jr. Loader from a member of my local shooting range complete with the “Universal Adjustable Powder/shot bar (they are a fantastic addition to a MEC press…you save beaucoups of money on powder and shot bushings and they are super easy to adjust) for $70 at one of our trade days a few years ago from a member who stopped shooting skeet…I gifted the LEE press to a friend who wanted to start shot shell loading…the difference between the LEE and the MEC is night and day…great video my friend 👍👍👍

Jess, I have used Pledge for dusting countertops. I spray the Hulls lightly using it like a resizing wax think of it like Hornady one-shot for brass that help me with decaping and resizing hull makes press smoother also spray that noisy spring it also helps with that. Also trim your hulls for uniform crimp plastic hulls stretch after 1st firing throwing off crimp also for that lee load all press the have a 3D Printed after market insert that is basically a cone given you a tapered crimped hull ( not so squared at shoulder making it load easier in pumps and semi auto's) their is another RUclips channel .The Shotgun Science reloading or something like that gives the eBay link for the 3D printed part. FYI, it comes from Ukraine I think it took 6 weeks cost was $20
Bubba round tree also is good information for the hull trimmer and wad splitter which at this time I do not have yet.
I currently am trimming hulls with a wooden dowel and razor blade and buying pre slit wads
