      Jennifer Martinez I know! I had this since 11 . I beat this for 15 years, but because of crappy miscara, i started pulling again. Now the urge to pull lashes is none existent because I want a no make up face!
      Ypu can beat this. Put eyelashes on and take a picture. Every time you try to pull look at your picture with lashes and talk yourself in not pulling because you love your lashes. I pull my leg hairs instead!

    I just want people to know that you can stop!!! I used to pull out every single eyelash I had. It felt so good I just couldn't stop but after 2/3 years of looking terrible and having zero self confidence I finally decided to stop. It was a really long and hard process but I did! Honestly I still have slip ups. Like yesterday I got an urge and now I have a gap but your eyelashes will grow back! It takes time but it's worth all of the hard work.

    • @juliannaadams1803
      @juliannaadams1803 6 лет назад +4

      Same here! I had it for about five years and then after I got to high school I felt so out of place. It took a long time for me to stop but I did eventually. It’s one of those things you never think you’ll be able to stop but if you work hard you really can. I used to make sure I clipped my nails short and put Vaseline on my lashes before bed so they were too slippery to actually get. And for the times when I would sit and watch movies I would bead a bracelet or something at the same time just so my hands didn’t find their way to my lashes.

    • @BwooHuraca
      @BwooHuraca 4 года назад +2

      I did it to my bottom lashes years ago and they still haven't grown back. Unfortunately it is possible to damage the follicle enough that they just won't grow again.

    I'm so thankful for you making this video. I just started this year (I'm 38) pulling all the lashes from the outer corners of my eyes, and pulling hair from my head. I have been so self conscious, and I cry and beat myself up every time after I do this. Why do I do this to myself?? I have become basically a hermit because I am so embarrassed for anyone to see me. This is really helpful, more than anything just to know that I'm not alone in this. I really didn't realize other people do this also, so I felt like, "what the hell is wrong with me? I'm a freak! Other people don't pull their hair and eyelashes!" and you have no idea how moved I am to know I'm NOT a freak, and I am sitting here crying right now at the relief of knowing now that I'm not. Thank you so much!!! Also thanks to everyone else who commented and admitted they do this too. I don't know why I started doing this, and I honestly didn't even make the connection that it's stress induced. I will pray for all of us for healing from this. ❤️

    I also have Trichotillomania, Currently in high school. I started in 1st grade. I still pull my eyelashes and eyebrow hairs out, but not as much as I used to back then. Finally someone who I can relate to. My mother used to and still does confronts me of my hair pulling and always asks “why did you pull your eyelash/eyebrow hair out?” Once I tell her “I don’t know.” She makes me more ashamed of having pulled out my eyelash. Nowadays I haven’t pulled out my hair that much, if I do pull it out, the patch would be visible if you look twice.

    I’ve had trich for 30 years, I’ve learned to embrace it and know I’m still beautiful! I’ve pulled out eyelashes, brows and hair! My eyebrows and hair mattered more to me so I got eyebrows tattooed on and I wear hats constantly pulling or not so I’m not tempted! Mirror get rid of and try and stay busy , being bored tends to set me off so.... also remember your not alone man or women child or matured! We all have something we are fighting ! Embrace it and know your worth!!! God bless 🥰

    I just had a relapse, and I’m 13 years old. This reeeally relieves stress for me, but only creates more when I realize how many lashes I’ve pulled. I’m going out to get lashes today in hopes to help me to stop pulling and also help my self esteem. 💖💖 thank you

    I didn’t think anyone else had this problem. I am happy that I’m not alone. I was bullied in elementary school for pulling my eyebrows and eyelashes in class. I was trying to find a way to glue lashes on even though I have some patches. Thank you😌

Also I model and it makes me feel like shit every time a MUA is like “it’s not working omg you don’t have any lashes or they’re so short” so this really inspired me to just try to do my own so MUAs can stfu and not make me feel like shit 😭😭😭 tysm

    I kinda got over pulling mine out and tried to just bend the eyelashes with my fingers and brush my eyelashes with my fingertips instead of pulling the entire hair out and it worked. I was so fed up having no eyelashes so give it a go.

    i have had Trich since I was 7 after a childhood trauma. I have tried all sort of lashes and nothing worked until I found the brand I currently use. I love it so much I sell it! I have never actually seen others as bald as me. Thank you for sharing! If you are interested in the brand I found, please comment below. I don't know if anyone including the leader of this group have affiliations with other brands. I love my magnetics! no glue to get stuck in the few lashes you have!!!

    Thank you :( I’m 11 years old right now and I’ve had trichotillomania for 3 years now. People at my school get bullied if they wear fake lashes, makeup etc so im going to try to find some for natural looking ones so that doesn’t happen to me. Since we’re in quarantine and if I actually get fake eyelashes I could probably fool some people because it would make sense because my eyelashes could grow in that time. 🙂

    Thank you for posting this! I never knew what this was, but I’ve been pulling my eyelashes ever since I was 15! However recently it’s gotten a lot worse! I have bald spots in the center of my eye and decided to get fake eyelashes because I feel like people are staring at my eyelashes and think they look weird... I’ve been wearing them for a week and haven’t pulled them at all! I feel like I can finally look put together and pretty now!

    I’m so glad I stumbled upon your page. I’ve had this condition since the age of 9 and was always made fun of for it. I’ve never felt pretty without eyeliner, lashes and glue close by. It’s so hard to resist the urge to pull while stressed and having remorse the next day. Is there a support group for this?

    You did an AMAZING job on those lashes! I am dealing with trichtillomania...and need to try this bc I didn't think it was possible. Plus with falsies it prevents from plucking bc I am forced not to or ruin the look altogether. I did have some applied when I had small growth but never with out any....wish me luck!

      You have to see someone. It will never go away and getting meds and learning how to deal with your anxiety is the only way. You aren't alone and it's ok. Therapists aren't in that business to judge you they're there to help you. I promise they'll help you find a way to cope.

      I'm 13, so I would know. What my mom does is she hides all she tweezers from me or anything else I can use to pull, and sometimes she give me rewards if I let them grow out. It's never something big, maybe just like go to a movie or something like that. The best thing by far is just support her and tell her she is beautiful with or without eyelashes

    Beeta, I’m so glad to meet another large eyed girl! You’re beautiful! I just cannot get the hang of the false lashes but I want to!! I have been plucking my lashes for four years or so. Completely bald on the top lids! As soon as they start to grow back in (like when I’m so sick I’m on my death bed and not looking in a mirror) as soon as I do look in a mirror, those little nubbs look dirty! I don’t know. I can’t stand it. And how do you get your eye liner not to transfer to the bottom?? Ugh!!!

    it actually is possible to apply a band to your eye with no eyelashes while also it not being noticable. ive been wearing eyelashes for 4 years. ive had trich for 5 years. I've learned a lot. put the lashes as close to your lash line as possible and use stick liner to cover the space between your lash line and false lashes. it makes them look real.

    THANK YOU for the tip about the lightweight band. I struggle really bad with applying them, I have NO LASHES (top or bottom). I haven't had lashes since I was a child, so when I do try applying them it feels so unnatural to me. So I would opt to only use one set of lashes. But if my falsies aren't long enough do you think applying single lashes on the ends would work? And have you ever tried applying only single lashes?
    And lastly, you asked if we could tell which eye has real lashes and which eye doesn't... The ONLY reason I could tell was cause I looked really hard after you asked, and I could see that it was a little thicker on the outer edge. But I seriously had to look HARD. I would not have know if I wouldn't have watched you put them on. Thank you🌷
