I’m not sure if someone already said this but the director for the first video was the director of the horror film “The Tag Along” based on Taiwanese urban legend. So this is a similar idea concept. The second video is based on the myth of the huli jing (Fox spirit) in China. I read in another comment that this is based on some myth of some woman who opened a bath house and turned men into donkeys. Don’t know how true that is. Haven’t found the myth online yet. I’m not yours is about the rise of woman power, so the music video is based on a Chinese folk story from the old days. The plot starts with those guys walk into this fancy villages and they were greeted by pretty girls with feast and wine (more like a mirage) and while they were enjoying at it, they were turned to donkeys by the two women (Jolin and Namie), and at the end you see two nine-tailed foxes... they were Jolin and Namie. Basically the fox monster/fairy/sprit (not sure how to translate that to English lol) is formed by animal fox and the grudge of women... they turned into shapes of beautiful ladies (like mermaids/sirens seducing men) and drain the life out of the men (usually playboys, especially who those who mistreated women), so yeah... interestingly to see you react to these two vids together cuz they both took time in the old days with the theme of vengeance. In that sense I’d recommend you to do “Fantasy” and “We are different, yet the same” together. don't get me wrong, jolin is beautiful especially for her age, but a lot of chinese stars (especially mainland) are like drop dead gorgeous and make jolin look average (he probably is considered average in the celebrity sphere among chinese). namie (japanese) is also incredible for her age. thing with asian women, when they are in their 20s, they can look like a teenager and when in their 30s look 20s. 40 is usually the cut off point when beauty really falls off a cliff, not to be superficial lol a lot of her songs are hit and miss for me, especially her edgy pop ones. I actually prefer a lot of her ballads (as for most c-pop just sounds better as ballads). of course, all her mvs are gorgeous.

The best friend intentionally left the hair piece there so Jolin would come out and see them (for the purpose of bragging later I guess)

I’m not sure if someone already said this but the director for the first video was the director of the horror film “The Tag Along” based on Taiwanese urban legend. So this is a similar idea concept.
The second video is based on the myth of the huli jing (Fox spirit) in China. I read in another comment that this is based on some myth of some woman who opened a bath house and turned men into donkeys. Don’t know how true that is. Haven’t found the myth online yet. Still looking.

Like it's cool that you're praising her so much, you're visibly into the music and her persona in the videos, and I don't mind when people pause a lot in videos if it's to take in the meanings of the stuff they're watching, but I think pausing so much in Lady in Red was detrimental to your own understanding of the plot & stuff lmao
I’m not yours is about the rise of woman power, so the music video is based on a Chinese folk story from the old days.
The plot starts with those guys walk into this fancy villages and they were greeted by pretty girls with feast and wine (more like a mirage) and while they were enjoying at it, they were turned to donkeys by the two women (Jolin and Namie), and at the end you see two nine-tailed foxes... they were Jolin and Namie.
Basically the fox monster/fairy/sprit (not sure how to translate that to English lol) is formed by animal fox and the grudge of women... they turned into shapes of beautiful ladies (like mermaids/sirens seducing men) and drain the life out of the men (usually playboys, especially who those who mistreated women), so yeah... interestingly to see you react to these two vids together cuz they both took time in the old days with the theme of vengeance.
In that sense I’d recommend you to do “Fantasy” and “We are different, yet the same” together. I’ve seen many do the reaction of the later without subtitles... please find one with subs on for better understanding in that one :)

My thoughts of the MV-Lady in Red:
In the old times, girls had to strictly keep virginity, especially for girls from the noble class, because they had to keep good reputation. From the MV, it is obviously that Jolin is from a wealthy family (noble class). However, before her wedding, she is raped by her fiancé and she finds out the betrayal of her bestie and fiancé.
Jolin has been generous to her bestie and shared everything with her since their childhood time. But her kindness gives her bestie pressure and makes her feel inferior to and jealous of Jolin. She could feel that Jolin was just pitying her. In the end, her bestie revenges by cheating and “returning” Jolin’s fiancé. As for Jolin, we do not know if she is really purely being food to the bestie. Perhaps she sometimes does pity her. But overall, she is kind to her bestie.
As a result, Jolin hates them both. In return, she kills her bestie and frames her fiancé.
This is the complexity of humanity.

don't get me wrong, jolin is beautiful especially for her age, but a lot of chinese stars (especially mainland) are like drop dead gorgeous and make jolin look average (he probably is considered average in the celebrity sphere among chinese). namie (japanese) is also incredible for her age. thing with asian women, when they are in their 20s, they can look like a teenager and when in their 30s look 20s. 40 is usually the cut off point when beauty really falls off a cliff, not to be superficial lol
a lot of her songs are hit and miss for me, especially her edgy pop ones. I actually prefer a lot of her ballads (as for most c-pop just sounds better as ballads). of course, all her mvs are gorgeous.
