  • Review of a lightweight tarp and tent option for 3 season camping. The Escapist system from Sea To Summit gives you great protection from the elements and coming in very lightweight at just under 1 pound for the tarp and less for the tent, this gives you a complete system for around 2.5 pounds or so.
I have used this several times now and really like it for kayak camping or lightweight backpacking. My biggest complaint I’ve found is the price, it’s a little expensive so you have to decide if it’s right for you.

Really good review! It looks like the shock cord on the bug net is adjustable to open up either side, yes? I hammock a lot and love it when I can put the tarp in porch mode.

I really like how light it is.
Yes, more colour choices would be great like OD green or Camo.

Sorry got sidetracked before I could comment. Needs some center tie outs . Not sure about the color scheme. Given the weight I’m assuming it’s for hikers and backpackers . Should be a law against any tarp under 7’ to 8’. Hope y’all have a great evening 😁

Yea I think they definitely need different colors and a center tie out would be nice as well !!

Think the bug net would work with other tarps as well?

Nice, is the tarp waterproof/water resistant?
