    Phone interviews are back! This means that after the Web-Based Interview, you will have a phone interview with Disney, which I did not have to do because my interview process was different at the time.

    I applied this past January (senior year of college) and got to the WBI but got rejected! It freaked me out that you only had 30 seconds per question. I also was overthinking the questions when I already knew my answer. Always choose strongly agree/disagree. I've heard you can click a couple agree/disagree but the quiz is looking for certainty that you are confident in your answers (hence strongly agree/disagree)

    Was there no Eye-2-Eye interaction between yourself and Disney Staff during the process, or did they merely confer with your past institutions/content?

    • @brynngartner
      @brynngartner  2 года назад +7

      There was no eye to eye interaction! In the past there used to be phone interviews where they can hear your voice but they are not doing that anymore (but they might bring it back in the future). I assume they do a background check on you once you give background info to them to make sure you’re being honest and you’re a good fit for the company. Thanks for asking I hope that helped!😁

    thank you so much for this video! im a sophomore in high school and i’m really interested in this program but i am curious on like a couple of things
    1. Do you have to stay in the resort? (if so then do you have to pay for staying in the resort?)
    2. How long are work hours?
    3. Do they teach me college stuff while im there?
    4. is the college program only for a semester?

    • @brynngartner
      @brynngartner  2 года назад +1

      1. You stay at flamingo crossings which has a ton of apartments and a community center. There’s a west and east village (I have a check in day video on my channel if you wanna see what it looks like!) You do have to pay rent but Disney will automatically take it out of your paycheck, everyone rent depends on what style of apartment they give you, so some have to pay more than others, I paid $225 a week which is the largest amount because they gave me the biggest apartment randomly.
      2. Depending on your role the work hours could be anywhere from 30-60 hours a week. My roommates got 30 hours a week and they were in merchandise and I got 60 hours bc I was in food and bev.
      3. Nope. You can take classes online through your school while also working full time like I did (I took two classes) but you can also sign up for disney ‘courses’ like leadership courses or Epcot origins where they tell you the history of Epcot and stuff like that. You can’t really receive any college credit unless you’re a hospitality major. However, I took an internship course through my school where I could give reports to my teacher about my experience and that gave me credit so look for internship courses through your school. The DCP is truly just a full time job.
      4. Nope! Some people do it for the summer, some for 8 months. And once you get to Florida and you’re there for at least a couple of months you can extend your DCP to be longer. You can also do it multiple times like every summer until you graduate college! I would recommend watching some of my other videos I talk a lot about the DCP in my vlogs I feel like you would learn a lot! :) good luck to you!

    • @brynngartner
      @brynngartner  Год назад

      Honestly they will most likely put you in either
      Attractions, merchandise, or food service, and possibly custodial. There is nothing specifically for film and screen writing as a role for Disney college students. I highly recommend watching my why I termed video, not to scare you, but that video explains what the college program is truly like. Disney needs Disney college students to work the basic jobs but it is a great way to put your foot in the door because a lot of employees at Disney started out in the Disney college program. Good luck!

    • @brynngartner

      I applied in February and there was many summer options! So I would say in the spring as early as you can (fall also might be an option but idk) Also keep in mind if you see options that begin in summer and end in the fall you can always plan to self-term earlier than your departure date and that’s totally fine too. Self-terming means quitting so you won’t ‘complete’ the program but all you’re missing out on is a piece of paper that says you completed it

      You don’t need it to apply but you need to show proof of your COVID-19 vaccination card after you’ve been accepted by uploading a photo of it. But once you’ve been accepted you have to complete the next steps very very quickly so I recommend getting the vaccine before you apply.
