    Omg, I'm a total beginner and my head is aching trying to follow this...! I managed to make 36 thingies then divide them between the two needles, then knit purl one half and now I don't have the slightest idea how to deal with the ones in the circle.... I don't know if you'll understand where I'm at, but if you do please help me! I want to carry on this project. Thank you!!

      You could try to watch the video on a slower speed, so you can see better what is happening on the needles :)

      This is called “Magic Loop” knitting and it’s a very common technique people use when knitting smaller items in the round. It basically takes the place of using double pointed needles. I know exactly where you’re having trouble but would highly advise looking up videos that teach this technique versus me trying to explain it here. The videos I think would do a much better job since they can visually show you what to do. I know this comment is like, almost a year old but maybe it’ll help anyone else having trouble. Good luck!

      @@izuzuchan agreed! Practice your magic loop a smidge (I make funky leg warmers lol) and come back. Or follow the tutorial until you get the required ribbing done and then you’ll be at the same point the video is at

    Thank you for this! I know how to do scarves and hats but wanted to make a whole set so this was very helpful! I somehow managed to start knitting the thumb inside out but I was able to backtrack and figure it out 😂 thanks again!

    I had to check another video because you did not show what to do after you knit the first side of the circular needle....ie push needle through and turn knitting around. That would have been helpful. Others wise I like your video. Dialogue would be nice too.

    Thank you for the video!! This was the easiest thing to make yet because of you. Question: if I need to make it smaller are the stitches for the beginning of the thumb and closing stitches the same amount or should I decrease those as well?

    After you get up to twelve stitches in the thumb gusset do you still repeat rounds two and three where you knit all the way around?

    I've never seen knitting with 2 strands of yarn together before. What is the reason for it? Does it make the mittens thicker and warmer?

      Those yarn are thin thats why I am knitting with 2 strands of yarn, you can knit with single strand of yarn.

    why are there 2 strands of yarn worked together, and wouldn't this be mentioned somewhere? I'm a beginner but i don't think knitting with 2 strands is standard.

      It is a round knitting, first you have to learn how to knit in round with circular needle, then only you will be able to understand. 🙂

    So you hade 5 stitches in the thumb, after you decreased then “knit all” how come that you hade three stitches one one side ands 6 on the other one? What did you do after that?

    I am so lost with the circular needles and separating 18 stitches on each side. It's so tight you cannot knit well enough and I'm not sure what the heck I'm doing! Hard to see what you are doing as far as that.

    So frustrated! I followed to the end until you came to decrease the thumb the couldn’t get it cause the video been cut there where I must decrease the last five in each needle, very weird caus the video never been cut where I didn’t need to see you knit in between , stitch for stitch 😢😡
