Oh my word girl I love this way you showed to do 2 at a time mittens thank you so much for showing me learning something new today what a way to start off a day knowledge yah thank you thank you God bless. And no seams
You must be brilliant this figure this out. Thank you. I modified it enough to make fingerless mitts, two at a time with worsted weight. You instructions are fantastic.
I like your explanation over knitting techniques so clear for a new knitter like me. I immediately subscribed to your channel. Is this for an adult size? Can you share a pattern for 3 and 5 years using chunky yarn, if you have one. I personally would like to see different sizes making gloves with fingers using chunky yarn for cold weather like you have with worsted yarn. It was a brilliant conversion of patterns from fingering to worsted yarns. Thanks for sharing your knitting techniques and expertise. I am sure I will learn more from you on your next video.
thank you so much! I currently do not have any videos using chunky yarn for gloves/mittens - I will definitely add it to my suggestions list though! The closest thing currently have coming up is a cable knit mitten using chunky weight yarn - to match the hat video/pattern I released in December
Hi, I'm thrilled with your channel! I am new at knitting 2AAT and this makes it much less intimidating. I am stumped however with my pattern that is requiring to cast on another stitch after dropping the marker before knitting in the round. I am using the magic loop, can you help me understand how to cast on the extra stitch?
Thanks for the great video! Where did you get your stitch markers? They are so super cute! I love them. I'm getting ready to attempt my first 2AAT mittens.
That is a great question - I absolutely love them but I have never been able to find the name or anything like these stitch markers online! I received them probably like 4 or 5 years ago as a gift from my grandparents.
Hi! Nope, the kitchener stitch is used for the top of the main portion of the mitten. For the thumb, I cut my yarn leaving about an 8 to 10" tail and use a tapestry needle to thread the tail through the remaining stitches.
Can you tell me if the cast on was an German cast on ? If so can you tell me why that cast on inside on and not just a cable cast on or a regular lonf tail cast on ? thank you
Hi - yes, I did use the German cast-on! Typically for casting-on for the ribbing I will use this cast-on method or the long-tail cast on because I like the really stretchy edge they create.
Hi again. I have a question: I am beginning the decrease round. It appears that once I complete decreasing, I am going to end up with an even amount of stitches for each mitten. Am I reading the instructions wrong? I read it as K1, SSK, Knit until 3 stitches remains, K2T, K1 for each mitten so, decreasing by 8 stitches after a complete round. I hope it’s OK to ask this here. Thank you for your help.
Hi Sherry! I think you may be looking at the old version of the pattern with the 26 stitches cast on - in that case you end up with an odd number. For the new version of the pattern that I uploaded the other day to correct the 24 stitches I also updated the number of stitches remaining to be an even number (6 stitches) - it is available on my website. I hope that helps!
Hi! Is it a piece of yarn connecting the first and second mitten? You shouldn't have any yarn that connects the two mittens - if you do, you may have knit one mitten with the yarn from the other mitten and to correct this you will have to undo your knitting back to where it happened
Question: The PDF pattern states cast on 26 stitches, the video states cast on 24. Does it matter which one you use to cast on? I'm a new mitten knitter, just curious. Thank you!
@@KnittingHouseSquare Oh good!. FYI, I wanted to get going on my knitting so I did cast on & followed the video with the 24 stitches. Good choice on my part! Have a great day ... your video is awesome!

You do a great job teaching. Showing or discussing every detail so that there is less chance for mistakes.

First TAAT video that made sense to me. Nice teaching!!
I really like your video. You explain everything well.
Would love to have a pattern that uses worsted weight. This video is the best one I have found. I'm ready to start magic loop.
This video was extremely helpful ❤ thank you so much 🎉

I found your video on making the cabled mittens and it explains how to cast on the extra stitch!! Thank you!
Can this be applied to 2 gloves at a time
hi! thanks for the lesson! im wondering is it possible to knit 3 AAT - two mittens and a hat?
Hi! I think you could - as long as the cord was long enough - sounds pretty fun!

Is the kitchener st used to finish off the mitten thumbs??

@@KnittingHouseSquare Thank you! Yes I was. I’m glad I waited for your reply. I would’ve totally messed up my first 2AAT knitting project.

i have a long tail between the glove from thr first mitten to the second mitten ?
