"Take It On The Run" saw them at Kaaboo in 2019, and everyone sang with them. Except one college aged couple who looked around like "What??', but they enjoyed it. I shared it with all my old High School friends.
Part 2 "Take It On the Run"
This was a very iconic song for hubby's and my relationship. We had been acquaintances for many years, both had been married and divorced, I actually babysat his kids for a little while!! Fast forward to mid-summer of 1997... we reconnected after no contact for two whole years!! THAT started a great friendship, we saw each other almost daily starting at the end August. Long story short... he took a big risk on November 5, 1997!! As I was leaving from our evening of watching E.R. or whatever was on that night, he literally grabbed my hand, pulled me back in his apartment, pushed me (GENTLY) against the door and proceeded to kiss me!! It was what we both had wanted to do but we were each thinking the other only wanted to be friends. We just celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary at the end of August. 💜💜💜
It was this song playing on the radio just before we met that evening that prompted him... then he felt that I was hesitant to leave like I wanted to say something. That kiss was the most pleasant surprise ever!! We both knew we should be together, but prior heartaches almost stopped us... so glad he faced his fear!!

We are now grandparents in our mid/late 50's, our kids don't use the word 'step' in front of brother or sister because they really grew up together. My youngest was only 6, and his oldest was not quite 14, when we got married!

Of course, what's fun about 157 Riverside Avenue is that you get to compare all three singers. There's video of Terry Luttrell (vocals, 1st album) and of Mike Murphy (vocals, albums 3-5) out there, as well as Cronin (2nd album, then albums 6 and on, after the record company insisted the band re-hire him). So you get a nice mix.

You guys need to go down the JOURNEY rabbit hole. "Who's crying now" live 1981 Houston Concert is a good one to start with. Always do their live versions if available. "Mother Father" from same concert is a must do also.

No it's not, god don't tell them that. It's a completely different style. This is their soft rock era, that's their harder rock era, they will assume the style is the same when it's vastly different.

Golden Country, 157 Riverside Avenue, Roll with the Changes are all better song IMHO.

REO Speedwagon was my first concert in Fall 1981 (Ticket price was $9.00 plus a .25 cent service fee; same for Van Halen!). All of their songs are basically the soundtrack of my high school days.

I am a man and I understand this song perfectly. I used to be popular in college and had tons of girls as friends. But there was one or two that I was afraid to date for fear that they might not reciprocate. And also my parents were divorced and I did not want to hurt theses girls. My mom had two terrible marriages so I did not believe in relationships. It had also happened to me once before that in high school and it hurt really badly. Although I did end up dating her 2 years after that. So it was worth the risk.

REO Speedwagon was the first rock band I went to watch back in 1982. I was 18 yrs old, and my first love was 17 yrs old. I remember they played this song, which I dedicated to my sweetheart. Awesome band

yeah I rem this song, which I love, when we had parties out in are yards just for the hell of it, or if it was someone's birthday, we would bring a boom box outside, and just play all the classics, plus mixed in slow songs, because guys didn't care about what was played as long as they got to have you close to them, w/ your head on their shoulder, and a lot of them were just friends, that was the good ole days, I'm now 45, and god I wish I could go back to then, much simpler times, and there was no cancelling of shit, even if the guy was older then you, now that would be a no go!
I left the channel for a bit, and I came back yesterday. I still can’t put my finger on, if I’m jealous of Brad or sympathetic to his analytical aspect. I feel music/art before I analyze anything. Is that bad or good? Other factors are in play, at the moment, too.
