I have had loc for two years no two loc are the same most people are aware of this which makes it special for each individual but it is motivational to watch others and learn. The Loc community is great it has helped to bring Loc hair growers together compared to 20 yrs ago. And most women enjoy messing with their hair each one teach one....Unity is strength.

Yes!!! I think we all go though that. I know when I first started mine I lived for youtube vids I lived for them!!! and I was comparing my hair all the time I am happy that I finally pulled myself back from that

Labels are important to use aa a reference for people who are less aware what something is! When people see my hair they automatically assume I just dont twist it or to put in less eloquently I dont "do my hair" I use the label to help people who have no idea that locs and be locs without getting them twisted every two weeks (because many people dont know that) generally when people ask what I do to my hair I know if I say free form they can google that term and immediately get a ton of info!
If I tell them to google or youtube search "doing whatever I want with my hair" I'm sure they will still be lost on exactly why my hair looks different to them than they are used to and it wont help them to better understand. I love labels, I can put vodka in a water bottle and nobody would ever know. I dont know what peoples issues with labels are, they are very important on many levels hair being one! Thats how people are able to care for their hair based on hair types 1b 4c and so on LABELS!
