This video made me reconsider clickies again after I completely wrote it off years ago. At that time, I got myself a Razer kb with Cherry Blues. After 3 months with it, I sold it and stayed with tactiles and linears. After watching this, I bought a set of Box Jades and installed it on my K8 Pro. Quite happy with it so far. Cheers!
I cannot over-express my appreciation for the use of a finger click for comparison. It's easy to replicate and consistent. Too many creators use weird subjective sounds, like the click of their specific mouse, or some obscure keeb/switch combo I've never heard in real life, and will never own. Thankyou, from the bottom of my heart.
I prefer this style of video over chill music and captions as it helps express the FEEL and less tangible aspects of the experience. For instance your Gateron Green review is the reason I cancelled my order, watched this vid, and got some Jades instead. You explained WHY you didn't like specific aspects of the wobbly loose feel and that helped me make a decision.
There’s actually 2 new versions of these switches out. There’s the Crystal Jades, which have a slightly heavier spring,a clear bottom housing, and are 5 pin. There’s also the Mute Jades, which have silicone dampeners where the clickbar strikes the housing. Both are great options.
That clear polycarbonate bottom housing on the crystal switches makes a HUGE difference in the bottom out sound. My crystal jades have a wonderful sharp clack at the bottom out, while my regular pinks have a softer, thockier bottom out that I don't like, due to their softer nylon bottom housing.
For me, this is the perfect combination of commentary and keyb footage with quality sound. It was exactly what I was hoping for when I clicked on the thumbnail. I have a very specific noobish question: I have a Planck EZ (hot-swappable RGB) fitted with Cherry MX Browns, which I ordered in early COVID when I thought we'd be returning to the office soon, despite the fact that I loved my full-size metal keyboard fitted with deliciously clacky Cherry MX Blues. I was planning to take the Planck into the office, so I got the Browns in order to preserve my colleagues' eardrums and sanity. Turns out... we're still working from home, and on the Planck I miss the clackiness that I get from the Blues. If I were to replace the Cherry MX Browns with Kailh Box Jades, would it be a simple switch job, or would there be any complications like having to snip off feet?
Man you've got one of the better keyboard channels out there. Can't believe you aren't everyone's go-to keyboard channel. It'll happen soon I'm sure! Thanks for the great breakdowns reviews
i may be too late to be relevant, but if i'm clicking keyboard videos for asmr, i like no talking, music optional but generally not preferred. BUT if i'm clicking for information, i prefer talking.... bc i often listen to these videos without looking so i can multitask. also i love when ppl do these back-to-back comparisons like at the beginning of this. makes it so much easier to understand sound differences without gaps of silence or having to click around the timeline.
I love these switches so much They are so much better than the lame cherry clones, and the enthusiast community doesnt seem to care about these which is a damn shame, they are underrated af
Gotta get me some pinks to try out fo sho. And thanks for commenting! Nice to see other folks who enjoy clicky switches ;) (and YES. The jades' tactility is off the charts fun)
i highly recommend bag lubing the springs with 105 and the top housing rails with 205. just lubing those two parts elevates these already amazing switches to something spectacular imo
found your channel and glad i did.. I'm new to the keyboard sceen and just purchased my first keyboard (Kludge 84) leaarning a lot here.. keep up the good work!!
These sound surprisingly good, my first experience witj clicky switches where razer greens and tbh after a few months got so annoying for my gf when i was typing essays at 3 am xD Switched to optomechanical razer redd after and with o rings made 0 sound almost. Buying my first hotswap board and its coming tmrw and im dabbling with akko jelly blue switches to try tactiles! But really looking at box jades or crystal jades to try after… hot swap is gonna be dangerous for me lol
Voice over is the only reason I stayed. Next make it a proper video with theme and narrative instead of just blandly delivered information. I mean that in a positive way.
I own both Jades and Crystal Pinks on 2 very similar keyboards, pinks feel ever so slightly lighter and have a noticeable higher pitched sound. Jades have a lower pitched sound and feel a bit heavier. I enjoy Jades more, I've also tried Navy's and they were too heavy for me.
I literally bought 150g springs and no matter what switches I guess I have to put those in because I rest my hands on my keyboard and I'm like pressing buttons if it's anything lower. And I'm not fat, I'm extremely light I weigh like 90 lb. So I don't know if it's that angle my arm is at or what.
can you please order and review the full keyboard and switches kit from KP republic ( KP Republic BM65 to be exact ) ? its the cheapest full kit with gateron yellows and hot swap pcb + plate + case and qmk/via support.
Nice video, but I think the music volume could be turned down a little. It was quite distracting In response to the question, I don’t like videos where it’s just music and no commentary. I just skip the video if there’s no audio (not including music)
Man, MX blues sound like broken switches compared to click bar stuff. EDIT: Dude, in the first video of yours that I watched you were further away from the camera and I thought that birthmark on your face was some paint or something that you either didn't clean off or put there on purpose aesthetically. I feel dumb now, lol.
Late to the party but I really dislike the none talking videos. I leave as soon as I realize what's up. I don't mind having parts of the videos that way but at least say hi, hello, how you doing lol

How is it and more consistent than other methods? It's not.
Agree, cringe

I actually love it more when people talk in the video instead of some generic lo-fi music
Yeah I unfollow and block suggestions of all the channels that do it without narration.
So utterly boring.
Personally I like both. Sometimes I just want to hear some typing, other times I want peoples opinions and technical info.

I'm about to order some Crystal Pinks I think! I haven't heard a lot about them, stoked.

i like the combo of both. Its always nice to see a personality in the vid too, so the talking is great.

Videos like this are good. I hate when people only put up only writing and you have to read their whole video.
I’ve ordered a sample display with 81 different switches, and those are my favorite so far))
omg thank you for your description! A lot of reditor types can't find a good description than bad or "not thocky"
I love these switches so much
They are so much better than the lame cherry clones, and the enthusiast community doesnt seem to care about these which is a damn shame, they are underrated af
These switches actually sound pretty good!
I'm not typically a clicky fan but my god these sound great
I've been daily driving 2 BM40's one with box Jades and one with Crystal Pinks, love these switches specially the Jades the tactility is so intense.
Gotta get me some pinks to try out fo sho. And thanks for commenting! Nice to see other folks who enjoy clicky switches ;) (and YES. The jades' tactility is off the charts fun)
Now you are askin, I prefer talking videos, don't lose your sense of humor. Love this channel
Aw. Thanks for that, Lara! Means a lot!
i highly recommend bag lubing the springs with 105 and the top housing rails with 205. just lubing those two parts elevates these already amazing switches to something spectacular imo
I'mma do it
Hmm, box jades are my favorite. What does the lube do?
I Love your Review style

hey thanks Luis, and congrats! You're off to a great start ;)
Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but there is actually a 5pin version of the box jades called the crystal jade.
Googling. Thanks Fubar!
i like when people talk in keyboard videos
Well good! Cuz I like to talk (makes up for the fact that I'm not the fanciest RUclipsr lol)
Thanks man. Great review
No problemo Josh!

Son mejores estos o los reds?
and good taste in keycap fonts it's very clean.
Hey man, do you recommend me box Jade switches or box pinks? Nice video

Seems to be a more thocky sound with the Jades over the Cherry Blues.
These are the only clicky switches I'll buy
The crystal box jades are even louder and a little heavier too
i wish to have that kailh box jade switches. and that typing speed to make it better. 😄
practice makes perfect :)
@@KeebNews i agree and i need tons of that. lol. but seriously im really impressed to people who can type really fast and using all the digits.
Do they fit on an asus azoth
can you please order and review the full keyboard and switches kit from KP republic ( KP Republic BM65 to be exact ) ? its the cheapest full kit with gateron yellows and hot swap pcb + plate + case and qmk/via support.
I'm going to upgrade my gateron brown keyboard with these BOX Jades. I live in a tiny home studio with my girlfriend. Wish me luck.
Buy her headphones for Christmas? ;)
Go for Navy's they come with the added bonus of a finger workout every time you type.
Nice video, but I think the music volume could be turned down a little. It was quite distracting
In response to the question, I don’t like videos where it’s just music and no commentary. I just skip the video if there’s no audio (not including music)
Noted!
man I wish I could use this without making my roomate cry... liners it is for me
planet fitness ahh keyboard 💀💀
Oh shit you’re right.
When I'm looking for videos, im looking for opinions and/or suggestions, so with that bias I prefer speaking videos!
You should review the Kinetic labs salmon, they are tactile switches and are similar to the holy pandas
there's some pretty decent reviews out already. the switches aren't good imo.
I dig those colors though. I'mma pick some up
Love talking and keebing
Both
If you watched the last 20 seconds of the video-what’s your answer?
I thought your approach for this video was pretty much perfect.
@@XuryGreer agreed
I really enjoyed the voiceover you did with this video. Audio felt cleaner and wasn't out of place at all! Thanks for the great review!
@@MoraniMusic woot! Thanks for your 2 cents Morani. I appreciate it :)

I hate Keeb videos with the music on it's annoying. it destroys the purpose of MacKeeb videos imo
No music, I rather have a short video (under 10min) with voice over. As a matter of fact, no VO means I will click away.
Both hut my ears
I hate videos where they don't talk
