The PR Mk. XIX is my favourite version of the Spitfire… built for speed… I prefer the PR blue livery though… what a beautiful aeroplane and quick she is… what did Squadron Leader Millikin say? Mach 0.94 (diving?) at 51500 feet? Jeez, she would have outrun my beloved Lear 55 which I took up to FL 510 quite often but couldn’t go beyond Mach 0.81 (indicated) due to the coffin corner limitations…
Love the Griffon Spits
The Griffon Spitfire is a thing of beauty that l love💖👍!
As a man ages his waistline expands. As the spitfire aged it gained propellor blades.
