Geoff is a rare talent. His range is just sick. His G1 low notes are the bomb and he uses different techniques - chest, harmonic, growl etc. There are lots of great bass singers but Geoff is the king in my book.
Geoff added a verse or two from the book that weren’t used in the movie soundtrack. That’s the kind of detail that goes into his productions. The last note wasn’t a growl (he doesn’t like using that technique) but it was doubled to get that sound he wanted.
Thanks for the info! There was a video claim on it, but I didn't know it's a similar case as with Voiceplay, where they actually release the claims :) Thx!
This remains my favorite of all his solo work. It’s just so soothing, ironic since they’re planning on going to tackle a monster. As others have mentioned it is filmed at PattyCake Productions studio. The beatboxer for VoicePlay, Layne Stein and the prior baritone for VoicePlay, Tony Wakim co-own the studio. This particular set is used in their original productions called Villains Lair (all the Disney villains trying to get back into power.) It was also used in the fairly recent release by VoicePlay of Dragonborn comes/Skyrim from the video game. Geoff has used it before as well, for his Monster Mash which came out last Halloween. Because I pretty much fanatically watch all of them, I start to recognize props and features. (A girl’s got to have a hobby🤣) Thanks for covering this one Yuri. It’s simply beautiful.
Someday, Geoff is going to set us up for one of those low notes and instead he’s going to hit us with the top register. LOL. He’s already starting to tease us a bit (you’ll see what I mean when you check out Big Bad John).
Haha, I'd love that! :p Also, in Oogie Boogie's song, he already showed us that he can go from very high to very low in a short amount of time :p I'll see when I can do another one from him! Thx for the suggestion!
@@YBPlaysMusic He also has a nice clean slide in Big Bad John, and a rather more extreme slide in Little Mermaid Medley. (Also, if you want to do a REALLY short reaction-or just check it out for kicks-Peter Barber just did a super smooth vocal range demonstration from C6 to G0 in just a few seconds.)
First super low note: subharmonic G1. Second super low note: full chest voice G1. Last super low note: growl G1. So same note, but with three different techniques. And yes, Geoff does play the instrumentals himself, but he uses plugins on his keyboard to simulate the instruments used. Geoff lists all the people involved in the making of his music/video in the credits of his videos. In this case: Arranged, produced, filmed, performed, and edited by Geoff Castellucci Audio Mix by Ed Boyer Makeup and hair by Rick Underwood Set Design and Lighting by Pattycake Productions Costuming by Penguin Point Productions Production Manager Kathy Castellucci Filmed at Pattycake Productions Studios (Studio B)
I know that Geoff uses plugins at times for the instrumentals. He normally gives the information in the credits below the title. i should point out that the patrons listed are only the higher paying ones, there are many more who give less. Being credited is a perk of being one of the higher paying patrons. :)
Layne of VoicePlay is the beatboxer with a bit of help from Geoff but he also plays a gorgeous violin. Check out Warriors by VoicePlay. It is stunning.
Fantastic reaction. Can you react to VoicePlays song. Warrior (imagine Dragons) please its amazing. Layne beatboxes while playing a violin at the same time xx

The extra verses are taken directly from the book. They were omitted in the movie.
Oh ok I didn't know that! Thx for the info, Aurora! ;)
@@YBPlaysMusic and he still excluded numerous verses.
Tolkien was a poetic master, and Geoff brought the master's words on an acoustic adventure

Just FYI, you don’t have to obscure Geoff’s videos. He doesn’t push the copyright thing. Nice reaction!

Thx so much for all the info, Huldra, really appreciate it!
Correction the last one is not a growl but a breathy chest G1
Great reaction!! Geoff released a brand new one yesterday. Amazing version of Big Bad John!!
Added to my to-do list, Soph! Thx for the suggestion! ;)!

Oh ok thx for the info, Christine! :D Makes sense of course that the ones paying more getting a mentioning in the credits. :p
3:50 in the back is a medium pitch note.... you can barely hear it, but it adds in to the vibe

this is such a good one, thanks for watching it
Nice reaction! If you'd like a good example of Geoff's range, check out his cover of Blackbird.
Thanks! Will do at a certain point for sure!
There's a version of this song by Peter Hollens and Tim Foust that also has some very low notes and some creative arrangements.
I indeed saw that one being reacted to a lot as well! I'll probably react to that one at some point as well! :D
This reaction made me subscribe. Fun to watch and I learned something too.
Thx so much for the support, Cindy! Really appreciate it! Glad my reaction was somewhat informative! ;)
Nice reaction mate!
Thx, Gabriel! Glad you enjoyed it! ;)
Geoff’s version is very good. If you’d like a somewhat different version, check out Peter Hollens and Tim Foust.
