Okay as a fellow bass I have s solid C2 and on a good day a B1) who used to play old Brom Bones and narrate the Legend of Sleepy Hollow at Ft. Wilderness at Disney World, this is AMAZING!
I've been learning about head voice, chest voice, subharmonics, etc. Just realized, after many viewings, that the Geoff heads sing harmony using only their head voice. Nice pun, Geoff. Love your sense of humor!
Holy freaking crap, this is SO well put together, I CAN"T. Honestly, THAT VOICE. DAMN. CHILLS. And the video was SO well put together. And the perfect, harmonizing vocals. AGH. Someone call an ambulance please!
So Geoff can teleport now on top of singing incredibly low AND high... what a weird flex. He's a man of many talents. This cover is stuck in my head for all of October now. It's truly amazing and has such a perfect vibe, which is even more impressive to me than the singing alone, cause it's so tough to get the mood right with lighting, effects and (voice-)acting etc., but I think Voiceplay as a group really have mastered that. Thanks for this gem to Geoff and all your clones, you did an amazing collab again. Even if they might be divas to work with... give them some credit man, they lost their heads for this! :D In terms of what I'd love to see next, I wanna just encourage you to produce, sing and narrate whatever you, Geoff, would love to do! I know I said it before, but this is my new favoritest thing ever!! ❤️❤️❤️ I've been a fan of the Thurl Ravenscroft's version for a little longer than you have (I'm a wee bit older 😉). It's thrilling to hear you do something that obviously means a lot to you, and to do it such justice. 😍 And no, I am neither terrified nor surprised that your folks had all that stuff lying around, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. 😉
@@GeoffCastellucci Thank you for putting this song cause these are 1 of my favorite. (The Headless Horseman Needs A Head Murararararahahahahah ------>🎃🐴🧛). I'm your new subsciber to your channel.
My 5 year old refuse to listen to "mommy music". I played this song today and she is convinced that the low note at the end is a long burp. Now we have to listen to "The burp song" over and over
A great tribute to Thurl (Tony the Tiger) Ravenscroft. Without a doubt, Geoff has the voice and also is a master of using recording technology that Thurl couldn't have imagined.
I'm impressed at how much you sound like Thurl himself. I've noticed that the audio version and the version in the actual cartoon both have a verse unique to them. In the cartoon the verse is "They say he's tired of his flaming top/He's got a yin to make a swap/So he rides one night each year/To find a head in the hollow here". I'd enjoy hearing a cover that combines both versions just to make the song a little longer.
I've heard this song from Geoff numerous of times. And even to this day, I'm still never prepared for 2:20 this note right here. Like Daaaayamn Geoff, your giving the girls heart attacks lol.
If Disney ever decided they wanted to re-record the audio for Haunted Mansion (which is a tall order for sure), this guy would be PERFECT. Thurl Ravenscroft would be proud!!
I agree with a couple of people below. Your own take on Ghost Riders in the Sky and Sounds of Silence would be as incredible as everything else you've done.
Geoff is seriously such an inspiration for the longest time i felt like i couldn't find my voice until i saw Geoff hitting insanely low notes and figured i wanted to do that and now i'm singing along with every song
Exactly. I always thought I was a baritone, but I’ve learned I can fairly easily sing along with Geoff (and Tim), which has opened up a whole new world for me.

When i was a child I had a vinyl LP with The Legend of Sleepy Hollow on one side and this song was on it. The record of course was broken long ago and I hadn't heard this song since - but as soon as I started listening all the words came back! And with a voice as deep as I remembered.😊 I really enjoyed this version.

I know that I’m late to this Halloween party, but ever since watching this for the first time I’ve kept on smiling and giggling every time I watch it. The front vocal and the background instrumentals in this is very much like the version from Thurl Ravenscroft, and the contrast between the happy sounding instrumentals and the scary story makes it more fun than scary to listen to. But more than the audio part of this video what I find most amusing and enjoyable is all the visual details that I notice throughout the whole video. 0:17 The clock running as a reminder that something scary is right on our heels and we better hurry to safety. 0:39 The look that the narrator sends the three heads like ‘you guys better not start something now’. 0:27 + 1:00 The reference we get to the pumpkin head showing up and the visuals on the finger snap as a reference that this was originally a cartoon. 1:07 The look on the narrator’s face, when the trio actually start to sing is golden, a straight up a “what the heck?!” 1:25 The axe that the Headless Horseman will use to chopping heads with. 2:03 The eyes of the narrator turning red like the horse’s eyes in the cartoon. The ghostly movements throughout the whole video to reinforce the feeling of something ghostly and that we never know where the Headless Horseman is coming from. The three heads remind me of a barbershop quartet even though there are only three of them, and I’m fascinated by how much expression and personalities they portray with only the use of the faces. The head on the right seems constantly worried with his eyes flicking from side to side and a frown on the forehead. I get a feeling that he had his head chopped of doing a terrifying chase in the woods and now he still tries to watch over his shoulders. The head in the middle seems to be more amused about the situation and just having fun especially with the low note at the end. I feel almost like he must have been in cahoots with the Headless Horseman or maybe he just never took the story serious and now that he is only a head he seems to be stuck at that stage. The head on the left seems to have been traumatized and maybe there have been some nerve endings that have been damaged and has therefore left him with some tics in his face.

At the time I'm writing this you've got 68700 subs, and the 3 solo songs you've put out so far have averaged 357k views. so you've averaged 5.2 times more views than your current sub count, which is awesome. Young Man, you just became my favorite Bass Singer of all time! I've heard a lot of Bass Singers, too... predominantly in Southern Gospel Music. You remind me of them...but with more resonance in your voice, than some of them do.
Honestly, the C2's are the biggest issue for me. Obviously then I can't hit the G#1 in chest, but I can get it fairly handily with subharmonics. I can't do a subharmonic C2 very well and I can only reach a C2 with open vowels. Curse you, vocal cords.
I’m jumping up and down and clapping with “fiendish glee!”😈 “King Geoff and the Geoffheads” I’m not in any way suggesting you consider it as a stage name.

I absolutely love the lyrics being changed for this cover. I listen to different versions of this song year round, and this changes the horseman from being a seasonal ghost to an ever present threat, but in a fun spooky way. I like it.
Oh my goodness, splendid all over the place. The voice, the imagery, the three headless mini-mes, the underhanded humor, the enough-but-not-too-much special effects, the as-deep-as-possible-and-then-deeper voice ... Love it to bits.
This was one of my favorite songs originally from Thurl Ravenscroft. He was a multi-talented bass singer as is Geoff Castelluci is now. Love the touch and creativeness to this song!

2:05 why do the backup Geoff's look so happy while singing about heads being chopped off ?? 😂😂
Hypoxia.
🤣
@@GeoffCastellucci I didn't think it was possible to love you more. I now stand corrected.
They want him to join them
@@hobbesthetiger never thought about that, maybe they are just lonely, they just want friends!
Ok but why is your Thurl impression spot on?
And 2:01 that’s just showing off 🤣
It was so perfect!!
Agreed! 😁
I don't know! I need help...
Geoff Castellucci you clearly don’t need help 🤣
Geoff Castellucci that thurl impression was spot on!
I've been learning about head voice, chest voice, subharmonics, etc. Just realized, after many viewings, that the Geoff heads sing harmony using only their head voice.
Nice pun, Geoff. Love your sense of humor!
Lovely, that you too realised this. 👍🏼🤩
Holy freaking crap, this is SO well put together, I CAN"T. Honestly, THAT VOICE. DAMN. CHILLS. And the video was SO well put together. And the perfect, harmonizing vocals. AGH. Someone call an ambulance please!
Yeesss Geoff can’t wait for another amazing cover by one of the best singers of this time, keep up the good work!
In terms of what I'd love to see next, I wanna just encourage you to produce, sing and narrate whatever you, Geoff, would love to do! I guess there are many people suggesting, begging or even demanding for stuff, but as you said on Patreon, this is one of the songs you loved and geeked about for such a long time and finally had the chance to dive in and cover, so don't forget about your own wishes and favourite stories and songs. Cause I'm sure people gonna love to see what you're geeking about and you're gonna introduce more folks to awesome little gems like this song. We're here to follow and support your creative journey wherever it takes you!
ps: *free virtual hug* for everyone reading this!
these are tough times, we gotta be there for each other, have a wonderful day everyone
I'm looking forward to this. If it's anything like his Edgar Allen Poe reads, I'll listen to it a thousand times
It's a song, not a reading. I thought so too.
I saw that after I posted the comment. I still think I would listen to it over and over.

He's got the villain laugh totally down pact! 😉 Great special affects and great singing as usual, Geoff 😊😊
I know I said it before, but this is my new favoritest thing ever!! ❤️❤️❤️
I've been a fan of the Thurl Ravenscroft's version for a little longer than you have (I'm a wee bit older 😉). It's thrilling to hear you do something that obviously means a lot to you, and to do it such justice. 😍
And no, I am neither terrified nor surprised that your folks had all that stuff lying around, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. 😉
THANK YOU!!!
Now we have to listen to "The burp song" over and over
My little brother is the same
Ha ha ha! Seriously laughed out loud!
Lol
LOL! That's adorable. Leave it to a kid.
Icelektra, it actually FEELS like a burp when I try that note
When I do the subharmonics it sounds more tense but when he does it, it sounds so relaxed, I am fascinated
A great tribute to Thurl (Tony the Tiger) Ravenscroft. Without a doubt, Geoff has the voice and also is a master of using recording technology that Thurl couldn't have imagined.
Pretty nice he's giving credit to Thurl Ravenscroft since it's his arrangement of this song. Obviously Geoff is taking it to the next level.
Nobody has a better name for singing spooky songs than Thurl Ravenscroft though...
He should really do the bells of notre dam. He has the most perfect voice for that song!
or Hellfire!
Most impressive voice I've ever heard... the idea of him as Phantom of the Opera... 😲
Really?😕😕😕 A bass man as the Phantom of the Opera?? Really??😕😕😕

He did Ghost Riders!
The talent for literally everything is immaculate! The editing, the harmony, the bass, all superb! How am I only just now finding this??! 😭😭🖤
1:59 that is a call to asleep in the deep, specifically the thurl Ravenscroft version
The "BEWARE" at 2:01-3 sounds like a nod to another song Thurl Ravenscroft recorded; Asleep in The Deep
Lawdy - I remember hearing this on a kids' record back in the late 1960s! And he's *KILLING* it!!! My new favorite version!
Lyrics ❤
Now, gather 'round while I elucidate
On what happens outside when it gets late
'Long about midnight the ghosts and banshees
Get together for their nightly jamborees
There's ghosts with horns and saucer eyes
And some with fangs about this size
Some short and fat, some tall and thin
And some don't even bother to wear their skin
I'm tellin' you brother, it's a frightful sight
To see what goes on in the night
When the spooks have a midnight jamboree
They break it up with fiendish glee
Smokes are bad, but the one that's cursed
Is the Headless Horseman, he's the worst
When he goes a-joggin' 'cross the land
Holdin' a noggin in his hand
Demons take one look and groan
And hit the road for parts unknown
And there's no wraith like a spook that's spurned
They don't like him, and he's really burned
He swears to the longest day he's dead
He'll show them that he can get a head
The Headless Horseman needs a head (2x)
So close all the windows, lock the doors
Unless you're careful, he'll get yours
Don't think he'll hesitate a bit
'Cause he'll flip your top if it'll fit
And he likes 'em little, likes 'em big
Part in the middle, or a wig
Black or white or even red
The Headless Horseman needs a head (3x)
It's after midnight so listen good
better stay at home like you should
Because right outside and waitin' there
Is the Headless horseman
Beware!
With a hip-hip and a clippity-clop
He's out lookin' for a top to chop
So don't stop to figure out a plan
You can't reason with a headless man
OH YEEES I NEEDED THIS
2nd stanza, 3rd line - *Spooks are bad, but the one that's cursed
When i was a child I had a vinyl LP with The Legend of Sleepy Hollow on one side and this song was on it. The record of course was broken long ago and I hadn't heard this song since - but as soon as I started listening all the words came back! And with a voice as deep as I remembered.😊 I really enjoyed this version.

Headphone with max volume and bass is recommended when listening. 👌👌❤❤
I agree!! When wearing headphones while listening to this awesome song with Geoff's amazing base right in the ears, it feels like getting a soothing scalp massage. I love it ^^
*Bass. In music, it’s pronounced “base” but spelled “BASS”.
Yes; I, too, enjoy having my brain liquefied by vibrations.
Geoff just your normal voice is so low its AWESOME ! Probably the best in the WORLD in my opinion !
1:07 The look on the narrator’s face, when the trio actually start to sing is golden, a straight up a “what the heck?!”
1:25 The axe that the Headless Horseman will use to chopping heads with.

Hey, i figured this was a cool thing if you hadn't yet considered it. At the time I'm writing this you've got 68700 subs, and the 3 solo songs you've put out so far have averaged 357k views. so you've averaged 5.2 times more views than your current sub count, which is awesome. Well done Geoff!
Ofc getting hung up on views is probably not great but its cool how many people apreciate your singing. This one was a lot of fun
That last note shook my room
Geoff, Tim, and Avi should have disclaimer's on their videos that subwoofers are required so that you don't blow out our speakers/headphones!

Honestly, the C2's are the biggest issue for me. Obviously then I can't hit the G#1 in chest, but I can get it fairly handily with subharmonics. I can't do a subharmonic C2 very well and I can only reach a C2 with open vowels. Curse you, vocal cords.
I’m jumping up and down and clapping with “fiendish glee!”😈
“King Geoff and the Geoffheads” I’m not in any way suggesting you consider it as a stage name.
