As a woman I particularly love Roger because he and his wife stayed married for over 50 years. His autobiography is great and he never has one unkind word to say about anyone
One wonders how rock musicians can do that. Temptations have to be endless. Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford of Genesis have only had one wife each: 49 years for Tony and 45 years for Mike. Tony will hit the 50-year mark on July 29, 2022.
@@racookster understandable with the genesis blokes, Mike isn’t exactly mr personality, I’m sure he eats the same thing for breakfast tea and dinner as he did 40 years ago, and tony banks, well I feel sorry for the one woman whose stuck by him as he is an insufferable sod!

I know it's from 2015 but *_dang_* he looks 20 years younger than 71 or 72 (at the time). I'm sure he's taking good care of himself but there might be some favorable DNA in his background to look that young.
For all these ensuing years, I thought the song, "The Music Must Change" was deliberately minus drums, as a decision by Pete (and that the "squeaky shoes" keeping time were likely worn by Keith Moon). 'Still find the album cover haunting, with Keith, who died around then, sitting in the "Not To Be Taken Away" chair, backstage.
I thought I heard that before too, in fact I know I have. Interesting how things you know you've read or heard changes... Totally agree about the album cover though.
Glyn Johns (producer of this album) talks about Keith's flubs in his autobiography. He asked Keith to quit drinking for a few days to improve his drumming and Keith responded, "Why don't you quit smoking?" Glyn quit smoking and Keith did not quit anything. Glyn also talked about Keith's antics and how they were "amusing" when retold but awful and "violent" if you were there. Glyn called Keith "pathetic" while praising the man's drumming.
I recall something approximately along those lines. I imagine it's somewhat similar to any John Bonham stories - amusing and entertaining when retold years later, but not pleasant at all in the moment. The Glyn Johns book, by the way, is great. For that matter, so is the Zeppelin book I just finished.

I don’t get why people hate the Who are You album. So many good songs on there. New Song, 905, Music Must Change, Sister Disco, Guitar and Pen, Love is Coming Down… and that’s not even mentioning the title track
