CAT's convert carbon monoxide to oxygen using precious metals like palladium and platinum, aluminum oxide etc. Makes them valuable to steal. If your in a state that tests emissions like California make sure the car will pass before you swap them out. Most company's warn that CAT less down pipes are for off road (racing) use only.
Love the video,. I'm not some guru by any means.. but from my research, I would suggest substituting water meth instead of E85. Helps your valves stay cleaner longer #directinjectionproblems, and similar advantages to E85.
Cat less mean not having the catalytic converter in the exhaust pipe right? How can you pass environmental test with out it? Do you install it back when you make the test?
so, i got a 2010 e90 n54. have a cobb tuner, its great but now i want a little more out of my car. im now convinced downpipes are number 1 on list of upgrades. what then would be number 2? chargepipe, fmic or something else entirely? i blew my last charge pipe from a stock stage 2 tune about 20k miles ago and they just put in another oem plastic thing.
Actually for anyone thinking about this according to Wedge the tuner guy who makes MHD maps downpipes don't help add horsepower, and other forum members only really report better turbo spool. Here's the thread with Wedge's post about running 100%WGDC catted and no horsepower gain www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1154450&page=5
So if I understand correctly, once you put catless downpipes on you can run e85?? Very interested as I just bought a 07 335i and within 2 weeks put catless downpipes on it. I've ridden a couple places where you can run up to E30, I did not think the stock fuel pump low-pressure fuel pump would handle be able to handle e85. But if you're right that all you need a catless downpipes and can run e85 would be amazing
Do you need a tune for the Downpipes? I know you had one before but is it necessary to tune if I want to install the catless or free flow?? Also what is the difference between catless and free flowing downpipes? I have an n55 if that matters.. thanks bro
I want to do this so bad but it wont pass smog. I asked my local smog shops if they can pass it for me if i get the dps but they declined. They dont want to get in trouble with the law
Barcelona Fan Since 2009 Vrsf sells them and there on special rn for $60, it deletes the check engine light and it tricks your catalytic converters so you can pass the smog
Simply Car Things sweet dude thanks! You and your car pushed me to buy an n54 e93 and I definitely don't regret it, love my car so much. Thanks for the channel and the info man keep up the great content
Hey dude, us 335i is stage 2 right? did you have to do any internal work to the engine or just a straight map to stage 2 and ur sound? also did you map your gearbox?
I have a e93 n55 that I’m thinking to put a catless downpipe.. and I’m thinking to have a O2 sensor defouler Installed , do you think having the defouler installed will not get the check engine code ?
Simply Car Things i looked up on the bmw forums and mostly people say that bmws O2 sensors are more sensitive.. I also looked up on RUclips and no one really seems to have a defouler on a bmw, everyone has their bmw tuned..
So... I have a stock N54 no motor work done at all, if I went to get catless downpipes done I can flash tune to stage 2? And use E85 with 91 mix if I want to right away? Is that what you’re saying ? 😮
yep that is exactly what im saying. but if you havent done any maintenance its a good idea to do an oil change, spark plugs, coil packs, and a walnut blast. also take care of any gasket issues if you havent done that as well
Simply Car Things I had my buddy from bmw El Monte check everything after i hit 100k and he stated the cars maintained nothing to worry bout yet, but I do notice I’ve been getting some slight misfires
If i were to get these did u remove the stock ones and put those your self or did u take it to a shop and have it done and i got a 2007 335i e90 n 54 and if i were to add this first mode on the care well i added a intercooler but everything else is stock
Chris Moreno I installed them myself with some help from my dad when I went home for Christmas. It is definitely doable, but it honestly was way harder than expected. Every nut and bolt is super hard to reach and also seized due to the heat they experience. I would never pay anyone to mod my car, but it was a difficult job and took probably 8-10 hours of work.
Chris Moreno Honestly mine hasn't given me a code yet, and this is after about 2k miles. But, the way around the codes are purchasing the $70 vrsf downpipe fix. It tells the ecu that your downpipes are in place and working properly. I'm going to try and look up a wire diagram for it and see what exactly it is, because it looks like it's just a variable resistor that you wire in place and adjust until it gives a reading that normally the downstream O2 sensors would read. I'm not 100% sure, I haven't looked into it enough as my emissions isn't for almost a year haha.
Can u get a muffler delete on a 335i I use to have a 328 and I did it and I loved the way it sounds I would like to do one on my 335i but people was talking about back pressure and losing power?
Anthony Wright forgive me, I rounded up. Sport seats without the rails and all electronics weigh closer to 70lbs each. Rear seat back and cushions weight 55lbs. I immediately felt the difference first turn off my street.
yes sir lmao dude I knew somethin felt different! I have 2 of the same 335s and the only difference is the fuckin seats, one has been swapped the other is the cold weather package with electric heated seats but I was like this one feels SOOO much heavier, I thought I was trippin, thanks 😂
Btw muffler delete just makes a car sound like it has a rusty hole in the exhaust system. I've had that happen twice in life and to me all noisey exhausts just sound like cheap broke down shit. The WORST is the tin-y loud of a mod exhaust on a 4banger hundai or old nissan beater....absolute garbage. Sounds like a dirt bike.
narato uzumaki they sell catless for the 328 but its all one peace with the headers so they are more expensive..not worth it for the power you will achieve ..really only beneficial to turbo engines
I hope you guys all enjoyed this video! Make sure to leave a like and subscribe if you haven’t already! Much love!
Simply Car Things do you get any codes/check engine light since the O2 sensors are downstream on the downpipe?
Yeah do you ^
I have not gotten any cel or codes!
Simply Car Things can you send me some info about the parts and how to install cuz I have no idea and I just got my 335i 2011
Cat-less? Try that in Cali...just saying, passing smog will never happen and I dont feel like switching them back and forth.
How you pass the emissions
Yes, DPs make a huge difference and the sound is incredible!!
soldierviejo indeed! I could not agree more!
Damn Omar, your car keeps getting more and more awesome! Hope to do some pulls against it in the future since I live in the same area of SoCal.
TokyoRacer thanks bro! I really appreciate it, sounds good!

My 335 twin Turbo Coupe have a great exhausted M4 +state one chip sounds good
Where would the cats live if u remove the down pipe.
Will i get a check engine light on my e90 if i change to catless? What about the o2 sensor?
by any chance do you have a video on you doing the 335i high pressure fuel pump?
Cat less mean not having the catalytic converter in the exhaust pipe right? How can you pass environmental test with out it? Do you install it back when you make the test?
Stanley Yung you can do that, but there are other options. Mainly a downpipe fix can pass you in most cases
Vrsf has a chip for that. Check the website
What's an environmental test lol luckily I don't have that stuff here 😁
Get a high flowing cat welded to it.
Lol my state doesn’t have emissions 😁
so, i got a 2010 e90 n54.

Barcelona Fan Since 2009 you can get a dp bypass on bms or vrsf..It basically tricks the car to thinking that it has the oem downpipes still in
Barcelona Fan Since 2009 You can get a downpipe fix and it'll trick it to pass the smog
Jose Lopez whats a dp fix?
Dennis Carbajo bypass?
Barcelona Fan Since 2009 Vrsf sells them and there on special rn for $60, it deletes the check engine light and it tricks your catalytic converters so you can pass the smog
bro keep it up, i promise youll be at 100k subs next year. doing good bro
Thanks bro i really do appreciate it! I'd love to hit 100k
ironic
I'm so confused, what models had the n54 and which had the n55? Is it like a facelift thing when the facelift 335i got the n55?
Hey how miles are on your 335i so far ?
Can you make a vid of total mods done? Do you have an intercooler, jb4 or just mhd or stacked, etc.
Yes! I will make a video! I have dp'd, intakes, and MHD. Intercooler and Chargepipe coming soon!
Simply Car Things sweet dude thanks! You and your car pushed me to buy an n54 e93 and I definitely don't regret it, love my car so much. Thanks for the channel and the info man keep up the great content
Do u pass smog with catless? I need a new DP my tune fried my stock one lol
Dope video im in LA we gotta link up 👆
Can u smog with tht aftermarket downpipes?
Hey dude, us 335i is stage 2 right? did you have to do any internal work to the engine or just a straight map to stage 2 and ur sound? also did you map your gearbox?
yea stage 2. just downpipes and ecu remap. gearbox is on stock software tune
What about the emissions do I remove when I have to get my emission and put the stick ones back on
They have downpipes with cats still on but high flowing air.
I have a e93 n55 that I’m thinking to put a catless downpipe.. and I’m thinking to have a O2 sensor defouler Installed , do you think having the defouler installed will not get the check engine code ?
Smmb 01 that’s a good question! Most likely you won’t get a code but I think it depends on what you end up using
Simply Car Things i looked up on the bmw forums and mostly people say that bmws O2 sensors are more sensitive.. I also looked up on RUclips and no one really seems to have a defouler on a bmw, everyone has their bmw tuned..
Hey, great video. I have a 2010 550i GT with 4.4L V8 any thoughts ob downpipes? cost? install cost?
Google search

Great video 🤙👌🤩
DominicanLT23 cepeda thank you!!
good stuff man :)
Matthan Enix thanks bro!!
no issue my man
I fuhk with yu bro keep going DO NO STOP!!!
thank you bro ! I am going to keep continuing !
No cat = emissions test fail?
How many gallons of e85? Do you also run map 5?
I use MHD and currently I don't run any E85. But a safe level to run is around 4-5 gal on stock fuel pump
will this work on a 335is?
Yes
Yep!
Any recommendations on down pipes ?
FearCartel ARM motorsports downpipes! They’re the best!
It’s the best highly recommend for turbo cars
cnt catless 3 inch i never ha d problems besides gasket thats very thin other than that same quality as vrsf etc (: what do you have so far
If i were to get these did u remove the stock ones and put those your self or did u take it to a shop and have it done and i got a 2007 335i e90 n 54 and if i were to add this first mode on the care well i added a intercooler but everything else is stock

Kevin P doesnt it usually give a code after u how do u fix that if it does cause im for sure guna do this my man

Chris Moreno Yeah, idk how much help it would be but it's kevinkk, I'll look out for your snap
how much did ur downpipes cost? worth it on an n20?? thanks
Can u get a muffler delete on a 335i I use to have a 328 and I did it and I loved the way it sounds I would like to do one on my 335i but people was talking about back pressure and losing power?
Seth Killen mine is awesome
🤙🏻
But all the hardware is useless without a tune right?
correct
Best mod is changing those 80lb each seat.
yes sir the seats are 80lbs? With or without electronics?
Anthony Wright forgive me, I rounded up. Sport seats without the rails and all electronics weigh closer to 70lbs each. Rear seat back and cushions weight 55lbs. I immediately felt the difference first turn off my street.
Anthony Wright oem exhaust is another good one . It weights 75lbs
yes sir lmao dude I knew somethin felt different! I have 2 of the same 335s and the only difference is the fuckin seats, one has been swapped the other is the cold weather package with electric heated seats but I was like this one feels SOOO much heavier, I thought I was trippin, thanks 😂
I don’t understand all this E85 gas talk 🤔
Btw muffler delete just makes a car sound like it has a rusty hole in the exhaust system. I've had that happen twice in life and to me all noisey exhausts just sound like cheap broke down shit. did you install them by your self ?
Will the 335 down pipes fit on a 535xi ? Same n54 engine
No you'll need to order xi specific downpipes! The rwd and awd have a different fitment
Can you cut open a cat and remove its guts and weld it back up? I live in CA and won’t pass smog without cats
How'd that turn our for you? Lol I'm in the same situation 😂
So I can put e85 in my stock 335i???
Thumbs up just for $uicideBoy$.
Yep no need for back pressure on these turbo's 😁
N54 Lord indeed !
There are more factors to back pressure than a single cat per bank.
Totally illegal in Australia
What is your exhaust set up?
Catless downpipes with a muffler delete. I have a video on the setup !
did you delete also the mid cat?
Muffler delete and also did you delete your mid cat?
Hear my custom fitted 4inch Megan Downpipes here: ruclips.net/video/Ld5lIt4YHc8/видео.html
Https//instagram.com/aredbmw is it worth the investment on this car?
Stupid mods like this are why Europe has horrible air pollution now... Everyone removes the cats off their cars, especially diesels.
So basically more power at the expense of lung cancer to everyone....great advice👍🏿
Missed the part about your car smelling like rotten eggs. Buy high flow catted pipes, don't be a newb
They have 2 other cats. He's just removing 2 out of 4
Would this work on a 328i
narato uzumaki they sell catless for the 328 but its all one peace with the headers so they are more expensive..not worth it for the power you will achieve ..really only beneficial to turbo engines
