Great FCS conference. Do CAA football league. Very interesting conference dating back to the Yankee conference then A10 with quite a few changes due to schools dropping football (Hofstra BU Northeastern), conference realignment etc.

In D2, it WAS the NCC before most of the schools moved up to the MVFC.
The MIAA & NSIC are pretty tough, too. Disclaimer: my Alma Mater, Augustana, moved to the NSIC when the NCC collapsed. Additionally, I currently live in Topeka, KS, where MIAA-member Washburn is located; Nebraska-Kearney, which was my safety school, & Northwest Missouri State, which I visited before choosing Augustana, are also in the MIAA.

Illinois State was runner-up in 2014, losing to NDSU in the title game. They both only had 1 loss, each to UNI in consecutive weeks in the UNI-Dome, and didn't play each other in the regular season. It was probably one of the best title games since they moved the championship to Frisco.

SDSU chased NDSU for yrs finally besting them to win the natty. Now they are on the top and looks like its going to continue. Recruiting become easier because everybody wants to play for a winner. NDSU has been feeding the NFL since 2016 with QB's and the last few yrs with linemen, but now SDSU has been sending some players also to the NFL. Every team in the MVFC has improved in the past 10 yrs.

The current map of the FBS and FCS is not sustainable for the long term, especially with all of the reorganizing of conferences in the FBS, transfer portal and NIL deals. Almost every year one of the stronger FCS teams is leaving for the FBS, making the FCS a watered-down Kool-Aid league. It's only a matter of a very short time before Montana, Montana State, South Dakota State and North Dakota State will be forced to make a change and move, almost certainly up to the FBS. Everyone in the world knows this is going to happen, the only question is how soon.

Might have to hold off on that. The MEAC is on life support right now. You've got 8 schools, 6 for football who aren't necessarily great or even good fits for any D1 conference.
Actually, finding the 6 football schools a new conference home would be an interesting video to see.

Lucas, of the channel “Dalukes”, disagrees with you. In his video about the future of C-USA, he says “Specifically, the fact that these teams (SDSU & NDSU) are miles & miles away from anyone else in the conference; they’re extreme geographic outliers. It’s roughly a 16-hour drive from Fargo to the campus of Western Kentucky, who would be the closest C-USA member to NDSU if they join the conference. Heck, the closest FBS school to the Bison in general is Minnesota & they're close to 3 1/2 hours away. Like it or not, the Bison & the Jackrabbits are severely isolated; travel costs are a thing.”

While the video is SPECIFICALLY about C-USA, the points he makes apply to EVERY FBS conference: the increased revenue wouldn't be enough to cover the additional travel costs, even to the Big 10 (the closest FBS conference).

Props to ( YSU chip) FCS lost most of their top programs. The others ran into harder times. Nothing lasts forever.

Tell me something.......When was the last time a big name ACC or SEC school played the top level Missouri Vallley (I said top level MVFC, not Youngstown State or Missouri State) or Big Sky teams? Maybe there is a reason why Georgia, Alabama, Florida State will not schedule any games against North Dakota State, South Dakota State, Montana or Montana State? If you think this is bullshit, then why have Alabama and Old Miss played Mercer.... but refused to play NDSU or Montana after being asked to schedule repeatedly?!?! Think about that for a minute.
